1 Therefore David said, "This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of holocausts for Israel."	1 Damals sagte David: Hier soll das Haus Gottes, des Herrn, stehen und hier der Altar für die Brandopfer Israels.
2 David then ordered that all the aliens who lived in the land of Israel be brought together, and he appointed them stonecutters to hew out stone blocks for building the house of God.	2 Er ließ daher die Fremden im Land Israel zusammenholen und bestellte sie als Steinmetzen, die Quadern für den Bau des Hauses Gottes behauen sollten.
3 He also laid up large stores of iron to make nails for the doors of the gates, and clamps, together with so much bronze that it could not be weighed,	3 Auch ließ er eine Menge Eisen für die Nägel, für die Torflügel und für die Klammern bereitstellen, dazu Bronze in einer Menge, dass sie nicht mehr gewogen werden konnte,
4 and cedar trees without number. The Sidonians and Tyrians brought great stores of cedar logs to David,	4 und ungezählte Zedernstämme. Die Bewohner von Sidon und Tyrus lieferten David Zedernholz in Menge.
5 who said: "My son Solomon is young and immature; but the house that is to be built for the LORD must be made so magnificent that it will be renowned and glorious in all countries. Therefore I will make preparations for it." Thus before his death David laid up materials in abundance.	5 David dachte nämlich: Mein Sohn Salomo ist noch jung und unerfahren; das Haus aber, das dem Herrn gebaut werden soll, muss groß werden und in aller Welt Lob und Bewunderung finden. Ich will daher Vorbereitungen dazu treffen. So stellte David vor seinem Tod vieles bereit.
6 Then he called for his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.	6 Dann rief er seinen Sohn Salomo und trug ihm auf, dem Herrn, dem Gott Israels, ein Haus zu bauen.
7 David said to Solomon: "My son, it was my purpose to build a house myself for the honor of the LORD, my God.	7 Er sagte zu ihm: Ich selbst hatte vor, dem Namen des Herrn, meines Gottes, ein Haus zu bauen.
8 But this word of the LORD came to me: 'You have shed much blood, and you have waged great wars. You may not build a house in my honor, because you have shed too much blood upon the earth in my sight.	8 Da erging das Wort des Herrn an mich: Du hast viel Blut vergossen und schwere Kriege geführt. Du sollst meinem Namen kein Haus bauen, denn du hast vor meinen Augen viel Blut zur Erde fließen lassen.
9 However, a son is to be born to you. He will be a peaceful man, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. For Solomon shall be his name, and in his time I will bestow peace and tranquillity on Israel.	9 Doch wurde dir ein Sohn geboren. Dieser wird ein Mann der Ruhe sein: Ich will ihm Ruhe vor allen seinen Feinden ringsum verschaffen. Salomo ist sein Name und in seinen Tagen werde ich Israel Frieden und Ruhe gewähren.
10 It is he who shall build a house in my honor; he shall be a son to me, and I will be a father to him, and I will establish the throne of his kingship over Israel forever.'	10 Er wird meinem Namen ein Haus bauen; er wird für mich Sohn sein und ich werde für ihn Vater sein. Seinen Königsthron werde ich in Israel festigen für immer.
11 Now, my son, the LORD be with you, and may you succeed in building the house of the LORD your God, as he has said you shall.	11 Möge jetzt der Herr mit dir sein, mein Sohn, damit du Erfolg hast und das Haus des Herrn, deines Gottes, baust, wie er es von dir vorausgesagt hat.
12 May the LORD give you prudence and discernment when he brings you to rule over Israel, so that you keep the law of the LORD, your God.	12 Nur gebe dir der Herr Klugheit und Einsicht. Er mache dich zum Gebieter in Israel und helfe dir, das Gesetz des Herrn, deines Gottes, zu erfüllen.
13 Only then shall you succeed, if you are careful to observe the precepts and decrees which the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be brave and steadfast; do not fear or lose heart.	13 Du wirst Erfolg haben, wenn du die Gesetze und Rechtsvorschriften gewissenhaft befolgst, die der Herr dem Mose für Israel aufgetragen hat. Sei mutig und stark! Fürchte dich nicht und verzag nicht!
14 See, with great effort I have laid up for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, and bronze and iron in such great quantities that they cannot be weighed. I have also stored up wood and stones, to which you must add.	14 Sieh her, trotz aller Not konnte ich für das Haus des Herrn hunderttausend Talente Gold und eine Million Talente Silber bereitstellen. Bronze und Eisen sind in solchen Mengen vorhanden, dass sie nicht gewogen werden können. Auch Holz und Steine habe ich herbeigeschafft und du wirst noch mehr dazutun.
15 Moreover, you have available an unlimited supply of workmen, stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and every kind of craftsman	15 Du hast Handwerker in großer Anzahl, Steinmetzen, Maurer, Zimmerleute und zahllose Künstler, die jede Arbeit
16 skilled in gold, silver, bronze, and iron. Set to work, therefore, and the LORD be with you!"	16 in Gold, Silber, Bronze und Eisen ausführen können. Auf denn, geh ans Werk und der Herr sei mit dir.
17 David also commanded all of Israel's leaders to help his son Solomon:	17 Darauf befahl David allen führenden Männern Israels, seinem Sohn Salomo zu helfen:
18 "Is not the LORD your God with you? Has he not given you rest on every side? Indeed, he has delivered the occupants of the land into my power, and the land is subdued before the LORD and his people.	18 Ist nicht der Herr, euer Gott, mit euch gewesen und hat euch ringsum Ruhe verschafft? Er hat die Bewohner des Landes in meine Gewalt gegeben, sodass nun das Land dem Herrn und seinem Volk unterworfen ist.
19 Therefore, devote your hearts and souls to seeking the LORD your God. Proceed to build the sanctuary of the LORD God, that the ark of the covenant of the LORD and God's sacred vessels may be brought into the house built in honor of the LORD."	19 Richtet daher euer Herz und euren Sinn darauf, den Herrn, euren Gott, zu suchen. Auf denn, baut das Heiligtum Gottes, des Herrn, um dann die Bundeslade des Herrn und die heiligen Geräte Gottes in das Haus zu bringen, das man seinem Namen errichtet.
