1 Chronicles 22

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Therefore David said, "This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of holocausts for Israel."	1 David dijo: «¡Esta es la Casa del Señor Dios, y este el altar para el holocausto de Israel!».
2 David then ordered that all the aliens who lived in the land of Israel be brought together, and he appointed them stonecutters to hew out stone blocks for building the house of God.	2 David ordenó que se reuniera a todos los extranjeros residentes en el territorio de Israel y los empleó como obreros para que tallaran las piedras destinadas a la construcción de la Casa de Dios.
3 He also laid up large stores of iron to make nails for the doors of the gates, and clamps, together with so much bronze that it could not be weighed,	3 También preparó hierro en abundancia, para clavar las hojas de las puertas y para las grampas, bronce en cantidad incalculable,
4 and cedar trees without number. The Sidonians and Tyrians brought great stores of cedar logs to David,	4 y madera de cedro sin medida, porque los sidonios y los tirios habían traído a David madera de cedro en abundancia.
5 who said: "My son Solomon is young and immature; but the house that is to be built for the LORD must be made so magnificent that it will be renowned and glorious in all countries. Therefore I will make preparations for it." Thus before his death David laid up materials in abundance.	5 David, en efecto, pensaba: «Mi hijo Salomón es todavía joven y débil, y la Casa que hay que edificar para el Señor debe ser extraordinariamente grandiosa, de manera que se hable de ella y sea famosa en todos los países. Por eso, yo haré los preparativos». Así, David hizo grandes preparativos antes de su muerte.
6 Then he called for his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.	6 Después llamó a su hijo Salomón y le ordenó que edificara una Casa para el Señor, el Dios de Israel.
7 David said to Solomon: "My son, it was my purpose to build a house myself for the honor of the LORD, my God.	7 David dijo a Salomón: «Hijo mío, yo me había propuesto edificar una Casa para el nombre del Señor, mi Dios.
8 But this word of the LORD came to me: 'You have shed much blood, and you have waged great wars. You may not build a house in my honor, because you have shed too much blood upon the earth in my sight.	8 Pero la palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos: "Tú has derramado mucha sangre y has hecho grandes guerras; tú no edificarás una Casa para mi Nombre, porque has derramado mucha sangre sobre la tierra delante de mí.
9 However, a son is to be born to you. He will be a peaceful man, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. For Solomon shall be his name, and in his time I will bestow peace and tranquillity on Israel.	9 Te nacerá un hijo, que será hombre de paz; yo lo haré vivir en paz con todos los enemigos de su alrededor, porque su nombre será Salomón, y mientras él viva, concederé paz y tranquilidad a Israel.
10 It is he who shall build a house in my honor; he shall be a son to me, and I will be a father to him, and I will establish the throne of his kingship over Israel forever.'	10 El edificará una Casa para mi Nombre; él será para mí un hijo y yo seré para él un padre, y afianzaré su trono real sobre Israel para siempre".
11 Now, my son, the LORD be with you, and may you succeed in building the house of the LORD your God, as he has said you shall.	11 Ahora, hijo mío, que el Señor esté contigo, para que logres edificar la Casa del Señor, tu Dios, como él lo ha predicho de ti.
12 May the LORD give you prudence and discernment when he brings you to rule over Israel, so that you keep the law of the LORD, your God.	12 Y que el Señor te dé discernimiento e inteligencia cuando te ponga al frente de Israel, a fin de que observes la Ley del Señor, tu Dios.
13 Only then shall you succeed, if you are careful to observe the precepts and decrees which the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be brave and steadfast; do not fear or lose heart.	13 Si te empeñas por cumplir los decretos y las leyes que el Señor ha ordenado a Moisés para Israel, entonces prosperarás. ¡Sé fuerte y valeroso! ¡No temas ni te acobardes!
14 See, with great effort I have laid up for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, and bronze and iron in such great quantities that they cannot be weighed. I have also stored up wood and stones, to which you must add.	14 Mira lo que yo he preparado con mucha dificultad para la Casa del Señor: cien mil talentos de oro, un millón de talentos de plata y una incalculable cantidad de bronce y de hierro. He preparado también maderas y piedras que tú tendrás que acrecentar.
15 Moreover, you have available an unlimited supply of workmen, stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and every kind of craftsman	15 Tienes a tu disposición un buen número de obreros, talladores de piedras, orfebres y expertos en toda clase de obras.
16 skilled in gold, silver, bronze, and iron. Set to work, therefore, and the LORD be with you!"	16 El oro, la plata, el bronce y el hierro son incalculables. Prepárate para la obra y que el Señor esté contigo».
17 David also commanded all of Israel's leaders to help his son Solomon:	17 Después David ordenó a todos los jefes de Israel que ayudaran a su hijo Salomón:
18 "Is not the LORD your God with you? Has he not given you rest on every side? Indeed, he has delivered the occupants of the land into my power, and the land is subdued before the LORD and his people.	18 «¿Acaso no está con ustedes el Señor, su Dios? ¿No les ha dado paz por todas partes? Porque él ha puesto en sus manos a los habitantes del país, y todo el país está sometido al Señor y a su pueblo.
19 Therefore, devote your hearts and souls to seeking the LORD your God. Proceed to build the sanctuary of the LORD God, that the ark of the covenant of the LORD and God's sacred vessels may be brought into the house built in honor of the LORD."	19 Dedíquense ahora de todo corazón y con toda su alma a buscar al Señor, su Dios. Prepárense a edificar el Santuario del Señor, su Dios, a fin de trasladar a la Casa que se va edificar para el nombre del Señor el Arca de la Alianza del Señor y los utensilios consagrados a Dios».
