1 Therefore David said, "This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of holocausts for Israel."	1 Entonces dijo David: «¡Aquí está la Casa de Yahveh Dios, y aquí el altar de los holocaustos para Israel!»
2 David then ordered that all the aliens who lived in the land of Israel be brought together, and he appointed them stonecutters to hew out stone blocks for building the house of God.	2 Mandó, pues, David reunir a los forasteros residentes en la tierra de Israel, y designó canteros que preparasen piedras talladas para la construcción de la Casa de Dios.
3 He also laid up large stores of iron to make nails for the doors of the gates, and clamps, together with so much bronze that it could not be weighed,	3 Preparó también David hierro en abundancia para la clavazón de las hojas de las puertas y para las grapas, incalculable cantidad de bronce,
4 and cedar trees without number. The Sidonians and Tyrians brought great stores of cedar logs to David,	4 y madera de cedro inmumerable, pues los sidonios y los tirios trajeron a David madera de cedro en abundancia.
5 who said: "My son Solomon is young and immature; but the house that is to be built for the LORD must be made so magnificent that it will be renowned and glorious in all countries. Therefore I will make preparations for it." Thus before his death David laid up materials in abundance.	5 Porque David se decía: «Mi hijo Salomón es todavía joven y débil, y la Casa que ha de edificarse para Yahveh debe ser grandiosa sobre toda ponderación, para tener nombre y gloria en todos los países. Así que le haré yo los preparativos». Hizo David, en efecto, grandes preparativos antes de su muerte.
6 Then he called for his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.	6 Después llamó a su hijo Salomón y le mandó que edificase una Casa para Yahveh, el Dios de Israel.
7 David said to Solomon: "My son, it was my purpose to build a house myself for the honor of the LORD, my God.	7 Dijo David a Salomón: «Hijo mío, yo había deseado edificar una Casa al nombre de Yahveh, mi Dios.
8 But this word of the LORD came to me: 'You have shed much blood, and you have waged great wars. You may not build a house in my honor, because you have shed too much blood upon the earth in my sight.	8 Pero me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh, que me dijo: “Tú has derramado mucha sangre y hecho grandes guerras; no podrás edificar tú la Casa a mi nombre, porque has derramado en tierra mucha sangre delante de mí.
9 However, a son is to be born to you. He will be a peaceful man, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. For Solomon shall be his name, and in his time I will bestow peace and tranquillity on Israel.	9 Mira que te va a nacer un hijo, que será hombre de paz; le concederé paz con todos sus enemigos en derredor, porque Salomón será su nombre y en sus días concederé paz y tranquilidad a Israel.
10 It is he who shall build a house in my honor; he shall be a son to me, and I will be a father to him, and I will establish the throne of his kingship over Israel forever.'	10 El edificará una Casa a mi nombre; él será para mí un hijo y yo seré para él un padre y consolidaré el trono de su reino sobre Israel para siempre.”
11 Now, my son, the LORD be with you, and may you succeed in building the house of the LORD your God, as he has said you shall.	11 Ahora, pues, hijo mío, que Yahveh sea contigo, para que logres edificar la Casa de Yahveh tu Dios, como él de ti lo ha predicho.
12 May the LORD give you prudence and discernment when he brings you to rule over Israel, so that you keep the law of the LORD, your God.	12 Quiera Yahveh concederte prudencia y entendimiento y darte órdemes sobre Israel, para que guardes la Ley de Yahveh tu Dios.
13 Only then shall you succeed, if you are careful to observe the precepts and decrees which the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be brave and steadfast; do not fear or lose heart.	13 No prosperarás si no cuidas de cumplir los decretos y las normas que Yahveh ha prescrito a Moisés para Israel. ¡Sé fuerte y ten buen ánimo! ¡No temas ni desmayes!
14 See, with great effort I have laid up for the house of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, and bronze and iron in such great quantities that they cannot be weighed. I have also stored up wood and stones, to which you must add.	14 Mira lo que yo he preparado en mi pequeñez para la Casa de Yahveh: 100.000 talentos de oro, un millón de talentos de plata y una cantidad de cobre y de hierro incalculable por su abundancia. He preparado también maderas y piedras que tú podrás aumentar.
15 Moreover, you have available an unlimited supply of workmen, stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and every kind of craftsman	15 Y tienes a mano muchos obreros, canteros, artesanos en piedra y en madera, expertos en toda clase de obras.
16 skilled in gold, silver, bronze, and iron. Set to work, therefore, and the LORD be with you!"	16 El oro, la plata, el bronce y el el hierro son sin número. ¡Levántate, pues! Manos a la obra y que Yahveh sea contigo».
17 David also commanded all of Israel's leaders to help his son Solomon:	17 Mandó David a todos los jefes de Israel que ayudasen a su hijo Salomón:
18 "Is not the LORD your God with you? Has he not given you rest on every side? Indeed, he has delivered the occupants of the land into my power, and the land is subdued before the LORD and his people.	18 «¿No está con vosotros Yahveh vuestro Dios? ¿Y no os ha dado paz por todos lados? Pues él ha entregado en mis manos a los habitantes del país y el país está sujeto ante Yahveh y ante su pueblo.
19 Therefore, devote your hearts and souls to seeking the LORD your God. Proceed to build the sanctuary of the LORD God, that the ark of the covenant of the LORD and God's sacred vessels may be brought into the house built in honor of the LORD."	19 Aplicad ahora vuestro corazón y vuestra alma a buscar a Yahveh vuestro Dios. Levantaos y edificad el santuario de Yahveh Dios, para trasladar el arca de la alianza de Yahveh y los utensilios del santuario de Dios a la Casa que ha de edificarse al Nombre de Yahveh».
