1 ויגשו ראשי אבות הלוים אל אלעזר הכהן ואל יהושע בן נון ואל ראשי אבות המטות לבני ישראל	1 And the leaders of the families of Levi approached Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the rulers of the extended families of each of the tribes of the sons of Israel.
2 וידברו אליהם בשלה בארץ כנען לאמר יהוה צוה ביד משה לתת לנו ערים לשבת ומגרשיהן לבהמתנו	2 And they spoke to them at Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, and they said, “The Lord instructed, by the hand of Moses, that cities should be given to us as habitations, with their suburbs to nourish our cattle.”
3 ויתנו בני ישראל ללוים מנחלתם אל פי יהוה את הערים האלה ואת מגרשיהן	3 And so the sons of Israel gave cities and their suburbs from their possessions, in accord with the order of the Lord.
4 ויצא הגורל למשפחת הקהתי ויהי לבני אהרן הכהן מן הלוים ממטה יהודה וממטה השמעני וממטה בנימן בגורל ערים שלש עשרה	4 And the lot went out for the family of Kohath, of the sons of Aaron, the priest, from the tribes of Judah and Simeon and Benjamin: thirteen cities.
5 ולבני קהת הנותרים ממשפחת מטה אפרים וממטה דן ומחצי מטה מנשה בגורל ערים עשר	5 And to the remainder of the sons of Kohath, that is, to the Levites who were left over, there went, from the tribes of Ephraim and Dan, and from the one half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
6 ולבני גרשון ממשפחות מטה יששכר וממטה אשר וממטה נפתלי ומחצי מטה מנשה בבשן בגורל ערים שלש עשרה	6 And next the lot went out to the sons of Gershon, so that they would receive, from the tribes of Issachar and Asher and Naphtali, and from the one half tribe of Manasseh at Bashan: the number of thirteen cities.
7 לבני מררי למשפחתם ממטה ראובן וממטה גד וממטה זבולן ערים שתים עשרה	7 And to the sons of Merari, by their families, from the tribes of Reuben and Gad and Zebulun, there went twelve cities.
8 ויתנו בני ישראל ללוים את הערים האלה ואת מגרשיהן כאשר צוה יהוה ביד משה בגורל	8 And so the sons of Israel gave cities and their suburbs to the Levites, just as the Lord instructed by the hand of Moses, distributing to each by lot.
9 ויתנו ממטה בני יהודה וממטה בני שמעון את הערים האלה אשר יקרא אתהן בשם	9 From the tribes of the sons of Judah and Simeon, Joshua gave cities, whose names are these:
10 ויהי לבני אהרן ממשפחות הקהתי מבני לוי כי להם היה הגורל ראישנה	10 to the sons of Aaron, of the families of Kohath of the stock of Levi, (for the first lot went out for them,)
11 ויתנו להם את קרית ארבע אבי הענוק היא חברון בהר יהודה ואת מגרשה סביבתיה	11 the city of Arba, the father of Anak, which is called Hebron, on the mountain of Judah, and its surrounding suburbs.
12 ואת שדה העיר ואת חצריה נתנו לכלב בן יפנה באחזתו	12 Yet truly, the fields and its villages he had given to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, as a possession.
13 ולבני אהרן הכהן נתנו את עיר מקלט הרצח את חברון ואת מגרשה ואת לבנה ואת מגרשה	13 Therefore, he gave to the sons of Aaron the priest, Hebron as a city of refuge, as well as its suburbs, and Libnah, with its suburbs,
14 ואת יתר ואת מגרשה ואת אשתמע ואת מגרשה	14 and Jattir, and Eshtemoa,
15 ואת חלן ואת מגרשה ואת דבר ואת מגרשה	15 and Holon, and Debir,
16 ואת עין ואת מגרשה ואת יטה ואת מגרשה את בית שמש ואת מגרשה ערים תשע מאת שני השבטים האלה	16 and Ain, and Juttah, and Beth-shemesh, with their suburbs: nine cities from two tribes, just as has been said.
17 וממטה בנימן את גבעון ואת מגרשה את גבע ואת מגרשה	17 Then, from the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, he gave Gibeon, and Geba,
18 את ענתות ואת מגרשה ואת עלמון ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע	18 and Anathoth, and Almon, with their suburbs: four cities.
19 כל ערי בני אהרן הכהנים שלש עשרה ערים ומגרשיהן	19 All the cities together of the sons of Aaron, the priest, were thirteen, with their suburbs.
20 ולמשפחות בני קהת הלוים הנותרים מבני קהת ויהי ערי גורלם ממטה אפרים	20 Yet truly, the remainder of the families of the sons of Kohath, of the stock of Levi, were given this possession:
21 ויתנו להם את עיר מקלט הרצח את שכם ואת מגרשה בהר אפרים ואת גזר ואת מגרשה	21 from the tribe of Ephraim, Shechem, one of the cities of refuge, with its suburbs, on mount Ephraim, and Gezer,
22 ואת קבצים ואת מגרשה ואת בית חורן ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע	22 and Kibzaim, and Beth-horon, with their suburbs, four cities;
23 וממטה דן את אלתקא ואת מגרשה את גבתון ואת מגרשה	23 and from the tribe of Dan, Elteke and Gibbethon,
24 את אילון ואת מגרשה את גת רמון ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע	24 and Aijalon and Gath-Rimmon, with their suburbs, four cities;
25 וממחצית מטה מנשה את תענך ואת מגרשה ואת גת רמון ואת מגרשה ערים שתים	25 then, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, Taanach and Gath-Rimmon, with their suburbs, two cities.
26 כל ערים עשר ומגרשיהן למשפחות בני קהת הנותרים	26 All the cities were ten, with their suburbs; these were given to the sons of Kohath, of the lesser degree.
27 ולבני גרשון ממשפחת הלוים מחצי מטה מנשה את עיר מקלט הרצח את גלון בבשן ואת מגרשה ואת בעשתרה ואת מגרשה ערים שתים	27 Likewise, to the sons of Gershon, of the stock of Levi, from the one half tribe of Manasseh, went Golan in Bashan, one of the cities of refuge, and Bosra, with their suburbs, two cities;
28 וממטה יששכר את קשיון ואת מגרשה את דברת ואת מגרשה	28 also, from the tribe of Issachar, Kishion, and Daberath,
29 את ירמות ואת מגרשה את עין גנים ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע	29 and Jarmuth, and Engannim, with their suburbs, four cities;
30 וממטה אשר את משאל ואת מגרשה את עבדון ואת מגרשה	30 then, from the tribe of Asher, Mishal and Abdon,
31 את חלקת ואת מגרשה ואת רחב ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע	31 and Helkath and Rehob, with their suburbs, four cities;
32 וממטה נפתלי את עיר מקלט הרצח את קדש בגליל ואת מגרשה ואת חמת דאר ואת מגרשה ואת קרתן ואת מגרשה ערים שלש	32 likewise, from the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee, one of the cities of refuge, and Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan, with their suburbs, three cities.
33 כל ערי הגרשני למשפחתם שלש עשרה עיר ומגרשיהן	33 All the cities of the families of Gershon were thirteen, with their suburbs.
34 ולמשפחות בני מררי הלוים הנותרים מאת מטה זבולן את יקנעם ואת מגרשה את קרתה ואת מגרשה	34 Then, to the sons of Merari, Levites of the lesser degree, by their families, were given, from the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam and Kartah,
35 את דמנה ואת מגרשה את נהלל ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע	35 and Dimnah and Nahalal, four cities with their suburbs;
36 וממטה ראובן את בצר ואת מגרשה ואת יהצה ואת מגרשה	36 from the tribe of Reuben, beyond the Jordan, opposite Jericho, Bezer in the wilderness, one of the cities of refuge, Misor and Jazer, and Jethson and Mephaath, four cities with their suburbs;
37 את קדמות ואת מגרשה ואת מיפעת ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע	37 from the tribe of Gad, Ramoth of Gilead, one of the cities of refuge, and Mahanaim and Heshbon and Jazer, four cities with their suburbs.
38 וממטה גד את עיר מקלט הרצח את רמת בגלעד ואת מגרשה ואת מחנים ואת מגרשה	38 All the cities of the sons of Merari, by their families and extended families, were twelve.
39 את חשבון ואת מגרשה את יעזר ואת מגרשה כל ערים ארבע	39 And so all the cities of the Levites, in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel, were forty-eight,
40 כל הערים לבני מררי למשפחתם הנותרים ממשפחות הלוים ויהי גורלם ערים שתים עשרה	40 with their suburbs, each distributed by families.
41 כל ערי הלוים בתוך אחזת בני ישראל ערים ארבעים ושמנה ומגרשיהן	41 And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn he would deliver to their fathers. And they possessed it, and they lived in it.
42 תהיינה הערים האלה עיר עיר ומגרשיה סביבתיה כן לכל הערים האלה	42 And he gave them peace with all the surrounding nations. And none of their enemies dared to stand against them; instead, they were brought under their sovereignty.
43 ויתן יהוה לישראל את כל הארץ אשר נשבע לתת לאבותם וירשוה וישבו בה	43 Indeed, not so much as one word that he had promised to provide for them was left empty; instead, everything was fulfilled.
44 וינח יהוה להם מסביב ככל אשר נשבע לאבותם ולא עמד איש בפניהם מכל איביהם את כל איביהם נתן יהוה בידם
45 לא נפל דבר מכל הדבר הטוב אשר דבר יהוה אל בית ישראל הכל בא
