1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.	1 Le lot de la tribu des fils de Juda selon leurs clans se trouva vers la frontière d'Edom, depuis le désertde Cîn vers le midi jusqu'à Cadès au sud.
2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:	2 Leur frontière méridionale partait de l'extrémité de la mer Salée, depuis la baie qui regarde vers lemidi,
3 And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:	3 elle se dirigeait vers le sud de la montée des Scorpions, traversait Cîn et montait au sud de Cadès-Barné; passant par Hèçrôn, elle montait à Addar et tournait vers Qarqa;
4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.	4 puis la frontière passait par Açmôn et débouchait au Torrent d'Egypte pour aboutir à la mer. Tellesera votre frontière méridionale.
5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:	5 A l'orient, la frontière était la mer Salée jusqu'à l'embouchure du Jourdain. La frontière du côté nordpartait de la baie, à l'embouchure du Jourdain.
6 And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:	6 La frontière montait à Bet-Hogla, passait au nord de Bet-ha-Araba et montait à la Pierre de Bohân,fils de Ruben.
7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:	7 Puis la frontière montait à Debir, depuis la vallée d'Akor, et tournait au nord vers le cercle de pierresqui est en face de la montée d'Adummim, laquelle est au sud du Torrent. La frontière passait aux eaux de En-Shémesh et aboutissait à En-Rogel.
8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:	8 Elle remontait ensuite le ravin de Ben-Hinnom venant du sud au flanc du Jébuséen -- c'est Jérusalem-- elle montait au sommet de la montagne qui barre le ravin de Hinnom du côté de l'ouest, à l'extrémitéseptentrionale de la plaine des Rephaïm.
9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:	9 Du sommet de la montagne, la frontière s'infléchissait vers la source des eaux de Nephtoah et sedirigeait vers les villes du mont Ephrôn pour tourner dans la direction de Baala -- c'est Qiryat-Yéarim.
10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:	10 De Baala, la frontière inclinait à l'ouest vers la montagne de Séïr et, longeant le flanc du montYéarim vers le nord -- c'est Kesalôn -- elle descendait à Bet-Shémesh, traversait Timna,
11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.	11 aboutissait sur le flanc d'Eqrôn vers le nord, tournait vers Shikkarôn et passait par la montagne deBaala pour aboutir à Yabnéel. La mer était l'aboutissement de la frontière.
12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.	12 La frontière occidentale était formée par la Grande mer. Cette frontière était, dans son pourtour,celle des fils de Juda selon leurs clans.
13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.	13 A Caleb, fils de Yephunné, on donna une part au milieu des fils de Juda, selon l'ordre de Yahvé àJosué: Qiryat-Arba, la ville du père d'Anaq -- c'est Hébron.
14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.	14 Caleb en déposséda les trois fils d'Anaq: Shéshaï, Ahimân et Talmaï, descendants d'Anaq.
15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.	15 De là, il marcha contre les habitants de Debir; Debir s'appelait autrefois Qiryat-Séphèr.
16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.	16 Caleb dit alors: "Celui qui battra Qiryat-Séphèr et s'en emparera, je lui donnerai pour femme mafille Aksa."
17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.	17 Celui qui s'en empara fut Otniel, fils de Qenaz, frère de Caleb, qui lui donna pour femme sa filleAksa.
18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?	18 Lorsqu'elle fut arrivée près de son mari, celui-ci lui suggéra de demander à son père un champ.Alors elle sauta à bas de son âne et Caleb lui demanda: "Que veux-tu?"
19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.	19 Elle répondit: "Accorde-moi une faveur. Puisque tu m'as reléguée au pays du Négeb, donne-moidonc des sources d'eau." Et il lui donna les sources d'en haut et les sources d'en bas.
20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.	20 Tel fut l'héritage de la tribu des fils de Juda, selon leurs clans.
21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,	21 Villes à l'extrémité de la tribu des fils de Juda, vers la frontière d'Edom au Négeb: Qabçéel, Arad,Yagur,
22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,	22 Qina, Dimôn, Aroër,
23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,	23 Qédesh, Haçor-Yitnân,
24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,	24 Ziph, Télem, Bealot,
25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,	25 Haçor-Hadatta, Qeriyyot-Héçrôn -- c'est Haçor --
26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,	26 Amam, Shema, Molada,
27 And Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,	27 Haçar-Gadda, Heshmôn, Bet-Pélèt,
28 And Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizjothjah,	28 Haçar-Shual, Bersabée et ses dépendances,
29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,	29 Baala, Iyyim, Eçem,
30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,	30 Eltolad, Kesil, Horma,
31 And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,	31 Ciqlag, Madmanna, Sânsanna,
32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:	32 Lebaot, Shilhim; Ayîn et Rimmôn: en tout, 29 villes avec leurs villages.
33 And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,	33 Dans le Bas-Pays: Eshtaol, Coréa, Ashna,
34 And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,	34 Zanoah, En-Gannim, Tappuah, Enam,
35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,	35 Yarmut, Adullam, Soko, Azéqa,
36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:	36 Shaarayim, Aditayim, Ha-Gedéra, et Gedérotaïm: quatorze villes avec leurs villages.
37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,	37 Cenân, Hadasha, Migdal-Gad,
38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,	38 Diléân, Ha-Miçpé, Yoqtéel,
39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,	39 Lakish, Boçqat, Eglôn,
40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,	40 Kabbôn, Lahmas, Kitlish,
41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:	41 Gedérot, Bet-Dagôn, Naama et Maqqéda: seize villes avec leurs villages.
42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,	42 Libna, Etèr, Ashân,
43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,	43 Yiphtah, Ashna, Neçib,
44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:	44 Qéïla, Akzib et Maresha: neuf villes avec leurs villages.
45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:	45 Eqrôn avec ses dépendances et ses villages.
46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:	46 D'Eqrôn jusqu'à la mer, tout ce qui se trouve du côté d'Ashdod avec ses villages.
47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:	47 Ashdod avec ses dépendances et ses villages, Gaza avec ses dépendances et ses villages jusqu'auTorrent d'Egypte, la Grande mer formant la frontière.
48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,	48 Dans la Montagne: Shamir, Yattir, Soko,
49 And Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, which is Debir,	49 Danna, Qiryat-Séphèr, aujourd'hui Debir,
50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,	50 Anab, Eshtemoa, Anim,
51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:	51 Goshèn, Holôn et Gilo: onze villes avec leurs villages.
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,	52 Arab, Duma, Eshéân,
53 And Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,	53 Yanum, Bet-Tappuah, Aphéqa,
54 And Humtah, and Kirjath-arba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:	54 Humta, Qiryat-Arba, aujourd'hui Hébron, et Cior: neuf villes avec leurs villages.
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,	55 Maôn, Karmel, Ziph, Yutta,
56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,	56 Yizréel, Yorqéam, Zanoah,
57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:	57 Haq-Qayîn, Gibéa et Timna: dix villes avec leurs villages.
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,	58 Halhul, Bet-Cur, Gedor,
59 And Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:	59 Maarat, Bet-Anôt et Elteqôn: six villes avec leurs villages. Teqoa, Ephrata, aujourd'hui Bethléem,Péor, Etam, Qulôn, Tatam, Sorès, Karem, Gallim, Bétèr et Manah: onze villes avec leurs villages.
60 Kirjath-baal, which is Kirjath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:	60 Qiryat-Baal -- c'est Qiryat-Yéarim -- et Ha-Rabba: deux villes avec leurs villages.
61 In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,	61 Dans le Désert: Bet-ha-Araba, Middîn, Sekaka,
62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.	62 Nibshân, la Ville du Sel et Engaddi: six villes avec leurs villages.
63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.	63 Mais les Jébuséens qui habitaient Jérusalem, les fils de Juda ne purent les déposséder, aussi lesJébuséens habitent-ils encore aujourd'hui Jérusalem, à côté des fils de Juda.
