1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.	1 OR questa fu la sorte della tribù de’ figliuoli di Giuda, per le lor nazioni: L’estremità del lor paese verso il Mezzodì fu il deserto di Sin, a’ confini di Edom, verso il Mezzodì.
2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:	2 Così ebbero per confine dal Mezzodì, l’estremità del mar salso, dalla punta che riguarda verso il Mezzodì.
3 And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:	3 E questo confine procedeva verso il Mezzodì, alla salita di Acrabbim, e passava fino a Sin; e dal Mezzodì saliva a Cades-barnea, e passava in Hesron; e di là saliva in Adar, e poi si volgeva verso Carcaa;
4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.	4 poi passava verso Asmon, e si stendeva fino al Torrente di Egitto, e questo confine faceva capo al mare. Questo sarà, disse Giosuè, il vostro confine meridionale.
5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:	5 E il confine orientale fu il mar salso, fino all’estremità del Giordano. E il confine dal lato settentrionale fu dalla punta di quel mare, la quale è all’estremità del Giordano.
6 And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:	6 E questo confine saliva in Bet-hogla, e passava dal lato settentrionale di Bet-araba, e di là saliva al Sasso di Bohan Rubenita;
7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:	7 poi saliva in Debir, dalla valle di Acor; e dal Settentrione riguardava verso Ghilgal, che è dirimpetto alla salita di Adummim, che è dal lato meridionale del torrente; poi questo confine passava alle acque di En-semes, e faceva capo ad En-roghel.
8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:	8 Poi questo confine saliva alla valle de’ figliuoli di Hinnom, allato alla città de’ Gebusei, dal Mezzodì, la quale è Gerusalemme; e di là saliva alla sommità del monte, che è dirimpetto alla valle di Hinnom, verso l’Occidente, il quale è all’estremità della valle de’ Rafei, verso il Settentrione.
9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:	9 Poi questo confine girava dalla sommità di quel monte, verso la fonte delle acque di Neftoa, e procedeva verso le città del monte di Efron; poi girava verso Baala, che è Chiriat-iearim.
10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:	10 Poi questo confine si volgeva da Baala verso Occidente, al monte di Seir, e passava fino allato al monte di Iearim dal Settentrione, nel luogo detto Chesalon; poi scendeva in Bet-semes, e passava in Timna.
11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.	11 Poi questo confine procedeva al canto di Ecron, verso il Settentrione, e girava verso Siccheron, e passava al monte Baala, e si stendeva fino a Iabneel, e faceva capo al mare.
12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.	12 E il confine dall’Occidente era il mar grande, e i confini. Questi furono i confini de’ figliuoli di Giuda d’ogni intorno, secondo le lor nazioni
13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.	13 Or Giosuè avea data a Caleb, figliuolo di Gefunne, una porzione nel mezzo dei figliuoli di Giuda, secondo il comandamento fattogli dal Signore, cioè: Chiriat-Arba, il quale Arba fu padre di Anac; essa è Hebron.
14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.	14 E Caleb scacciò di là i tre figliuoli di Anac, Sesai, ed Ahiman, e Talmai, nati di Anac.
15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.	15 E di là egli salì agli abitanti di Debir, il cui nome per addietro era stato Chiriat-sefer.
16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.	16 E Caleb disse: Chi percoterà Chiriat-sefer, e la prenderà, io gli darò Asca, mia figliuola, per moglie.
17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.	17 E Otniel, figliuolo di Chenaz, fratello di Caleb, la prese; e Caleb gli diede Acsa, sua figliuola, per moglie.
18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?	18 E quando ella venne a marito, indusse Otniel a domandare un campo a suo padre; poi ella si gittò giù d’in su l’asino; e Caleb le disse: Che hai?
19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.	19 Ed ella disse: Fammi un dono; conciossiachè tu m’abbi data una terra asciutta, dammi anche delle fonti d’acque. Ed egli le donò delle fonti ch’erano disopra, e delle fonti ch’erano disotto
20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.	20 Quest’è l’eredità della tribù de’ figliuoli di Giuda, secondo le lor nazioni.
21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,	21 Nell’estremità della contrada della tribù de’ figliuoli di Giuda, a’ confini di Edom, verso il Mezzodì, v’erano queste città: Cabseel, ed Eder, e Iagur;
22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,	22 e China, e Dimona, e Adada;
23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,	23 e Chedes, e Hasor, e Itnan;
24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,	24 e Zif, e Telem, e Bealot;
25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,	25 e Hasor-hadatta e Cheriot Hesron è Hasor;
26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,	26 e Amam e Sema, e Molada;
27 And Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,	27 e Hasar-gadda, e Hesmon, e Betpelet;
28 And Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizjothjah,	28 e Hasar-sual, e Beerseba, e Biziotia; e Baala, e Iim, ed Esem;
29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,	29 ed Eltolad, e Chesil, e Horma;
30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,	30 e Siclag, e Madmanna,
31 And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,	31 e Sansanna;
32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:	32 e Labaot, e Silhim, e Ain, e Rimmon; in tutto ventinove città, con le lor villate.
33 And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,	33 Nella pianura v’erano queste città: Estaol, e Sorea, e Asna;
34 And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,	34 e Zanoa, ed En-gannim, e Tappua, ed Enam;
35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,	35 e Iarmut, e Adullam, e Soco, e Azeca;
36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:	36 e Saaraim, e Aditaim, e Ghedera, e Ghederotaim; quattordici città, con le lor villate.
37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,	37 Poi Senan, e Hadasa, e Migdal-Gad;
38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,	38 e Dilan, e Mispe, e Iocteel;
39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,	39 e Lachis, e Boscat, ed Eglon;
40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,	40 e Cabbon, e Lamas, e Chitlis;
41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:	41 e Ghederot, e Bet-Dagon, e Naama, e Maccheda; sedici città con le lor villate.
42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,	42 Poi Libna, ed Eter, e Asan;
43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,	43 e Ifta, e Asna, e Nesib;
44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:	44 e Cheila, e Aczib, e Maresa; nove città, con le lor villate;
45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:	45 poi Ecron, e le terre del suo territorio, e le sue villate;
46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:	46 da Ecron, e verso il mare, tutte le città che sono presso di Asdod, con le lor villate.
47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:	47 Poi Asdod, e le terre del suo territorio, e le sue villate; Gaza, e le terre del suo territorio, e le sue villate, infino al Torrente di Egitto, e al mar grande, e i confini.
48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,	48 E nel monte v’erano queste città: Samir, e Iattir, e Soco;
49 And Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, which is Debir,	49 e Danna, e Chiriat-sanna, che è Debir;
50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,	50 e Anab, ed Estemo, e Anim;
51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:	51 e Gosen, e Holon, e Ghilo; undici città, con le lor villate.
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,	52 Poi Arab, e Duma, ed Esan;
53 And Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,	53 e Ianum, e Bet-tappua, e Afeca;
54 And Humtah, and Kirjath-arba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:	54 e Humta, e Chiriat-Arba, che è Hebron, e Sior; nove città, con le lor villate.
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,	55 Poi Maon, e Carmel, e Zif, e Iuta;
56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,	56 e Izreel, e Iocdeam, e Zanoa;
57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:	57 e Cain, e Ghibea, e Timna; dieci città, con le lor villate;
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,	58 poi Halhul, e Bet-sur, e Ghedor;
59 And Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:	59 e Maarat, e Bet-anot, ed Eltecon; sei città, con le lor villate.
60 Kirjath-baal, which is Kirjath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:	60 Poi Chiriat-baal, che è Chiriat-iearim, e Rabba; due città, con le lor villate.
61 In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,	61 Nel deserto v’erano queste città: Bet-araba, e Middin, e Secaca;
62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.	62 e Nibsan, e la Città del sale, ed Enghedi; sei città, con le lor villate.
63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.	63 Or i figliuoli di Giuda non poterono scacciare i Gebusei che abitavano in Gerusalemme; perciò i Gebusei son dimorati in Gerusalemme co’ figliuoli di Giuda, infino a questo giorno
