1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,	1 Il Signore parlò ancora a Mosè e ad Aronne, dicendo:
2 This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:	2 « Questa è la cerimonia riguardo alla vittima comandata dal Signore: ordina ai figli d'Israele che ti menino una giovenca rossa nella pienezza dell'età, senza, alcun difetto e che non abbia portato il giogo.
3 And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:	3 La darete ad Eleazaro sacerdote il quale, condottala fuori del rampo, la immolerà al cospetto di tutti,
4 And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:	4 e intanto il dito nel sangue di essa, aspergerà sette volte verso la porta del Tabernacolo.
5 And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:	5 Poi la brucerà sotto gli occhi di tutti e darà alle fiamme la pelle, le carni, il sangue e gli escrementi di essa,
6 And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.	6 Il sacerdote getterà, quindi nelle fiamme, ove arde la vacca, legno di cedro, issopo e cocco tinto due volte.
7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.	7 Finalmente, lavate che abbia le sue vesti e il suo corpo, tornerà, al campo, e sarà immondo tino alla sera.
8 And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.	8 Anche chi la, bruciò si laverà le vesti e il corpo e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.	9 Un uomo puro, raccolte le ceneri della vacca, le depositerà fuori del campo in luogo mondo, ove sian custodite per la moltitudine dei figli d'Israele, per farne l'acqua d'aspersione, essendo la vacca stata bruciata per il peccato.
10 And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.	10 Chi ha portato le ceneri della vacca laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino alla sera. I figli d'Israele e i forestieri che dimorano con essi riterranno questo statuto come santo per diritto perpetuo.
11 He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.	11 Chi avrà toccato il cadavere d'un uomo, e diverrà perciò immondo per sette, giorni,
12 He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.	12 sarà asperso con quest'acqua il terzo e il settimo giorno, così sara mondato. Ma se non sarà asperso nel terzo giorno,non potrà esser mondato nel settimo.
13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.	13 Chi, dopo aver toccato il cadavere di un uomo non sarà stato asperso colla mistura di quest'acqua, contaminerà il Tabernacolo del Signore e sarà sterminato da Israele: non essendo stato asperso coll'acqua d'espiazione, egli sarà immondo e resterà sopra di lui la sua immondezza.
14 This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.	14 Questa è la legge relativa all'uomo che muore in una tenda: tutti quelli che entrano nella sua tenda e tutti gli utensili che vi sono saranno immondi per sette giorni;
15 And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.	15 ogni vaso che non avrà coperchio ben legato di sopra sarà immondo.
16 And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.	16 Chi nel campo tocca il cadavere d'un uomo ucciso o morto da se, oppure qualche osso di lui o il suo sepolcro, sarà immondo per sette giorni.
17 And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:	17 E prenderanno delle ceneri della vacca bruciata per il peccato e vi metteranno sopra dell'acqua viva in un vaso,
18 And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:	18 ove, intinto dell'issopo, un uomo puro aspergerà tutta la tenda, tutte le suppellettili e gli uomini contaminati per tal contatto.
19 And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.	19 Dopo che l'uomo puro ha asperso così l'immondo al terzo e al settimo giorno, chi fu purificato al settimo giorno si laverà le vesti e il corpo e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
20 But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.	20 Se uno non si purificherà con questo rito, la sua anima sarà odiata dall'assemblea; perchè ha contaminato il santuario del Signore, non essendo stato asperso coll'acqua di purificazione.
21 And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.	21 Questo precetto sarà legge sempiterna. Anche chi fa l'aspersione dell'acqua si laverà le vesti; e chi avrà toccata l'acqua d'espiazione sarà immondo fino alla sera.
22 And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.	22 Tutto quello che avrà toccato un immondo sarà immondo, e chi avrà toccato una di queste cose sarà immondo fino alla sera ».
