1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e ad Aronne e disse:
2 This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:	2 «Questa è una disposizione della legge che il Signore ha prescritto. Ordina agli Israeliti che ti portino una giovenca rossa, senza macchia, senza difetti e che non abbia mai portato il giogo.
3 And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:	3 La darete al sacerdote Eleàzaro, che la condurrà fuori dell’accampamento e la farà immolare in sua presenza.
4 And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:	4 Il sacerdote Eleàzaro prenderà con il dito un po’ del sangue della giovenca e ne farà sette volte l’aspersione davanti alla tenda del convegno;
5 And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:	5 poi si brucerà la giovenca sotto i suoi occhi: se ne brucerà la pelle, la carne e il sangue con gli escrementi.
6 And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.	6 Il sacerdote prenderà legno di cedro, issòpo, tintura scarlatta e getterà tutto nel fuoco che consuma la giovenca.
7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.	7 Poi il sacerdote laverà le sue vesti e farà un bagno al suo corpo nell’acqua, quindi rientrerà nell’accampamento; il sacerdote sarà impuro fino alla sera.
8 And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.	8 Colui che avrà bruciato la giovenca si laverà le vesti nell’acqua, farà un bagno al suo corpo nell’acqua e sarà impuro fino alla sera.
9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.	9 Un uomo puro raccoglierà le ceneri della giovenca e le depositerà fuori dell’accampamento in luogo puro, dove saranno conservate per la comunità degli Israeliti per l’acqua di purificazione: è un rito per il peccato.
10 And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.	10 Colui che avrà raccolto le ceneri della giovenca si laverà le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera. Questa sarà una legge perenne per gli Israeliti e per lo straniero che dimorerà presso di loro.
11 He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.	11 Chi avrà toccato il cadavere di qualsiasi persona, sarà impuro per sette giorni.
12 He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.	12 Quando uno si sarà purificato con quell’acqua il terzo e il settimo giorno, sarà puro; ma se non si purifica il terzo e il settimo giorno, non sarà puro.
13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.	13 Chiunque avrà toccato il cadavere di una persona che è morta e non si sarà purificato, avrà contaminato la Dimora del Signore e sarà eliminato da Israele. Siccome l’acqua di purificazione non è stata spruzzata su di lui, egli è impuro; ha ancora addosso l’impurità.
14 This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.	14 Questa è la legge per quando un uomo muore in una tenda: chiunque entrerà nella tenda, e tutto ciò che è nella tenda, sarà impuro per sette giorni.
15 And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.	15 Ogni vaso scoperto, sul quale non sia un coperchio o una legatura, sarà impuro.
16 And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.	16 Chiunque sulla superficie di un campo avrà toccato un uomo ucciso di spada o morto di morte naturale o un osso d’uomo o un sepolcro, sarà impuro per sette giorni.
17 And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:	17 Per colui che sarà divenuto impuro si prenderà la cenere della vittima bruciata per l’espiazione e vi si verserà sopra l’acqua corrente, in un vaso;
18 And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:	18 poi un uomo puro prenderà issòpo, lo intingerà nell’acqua e ne aspergerà la tenda, tutti gli arredi e tutte le persone che erano là e colui che ha toccato l’osso o l’ucciso o il morto o il sepolcro.
19 And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.	19 L’uomo puro aspergerà l’impuro il terzo giorno e il settimo giorno e lo purificherà il settimo giorno; poi colui che è stato impuro si laverà le vesti, farà un bagno con l’acqua e alla sera diventerà puro.
20 But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.	20 Ma colui che, reso impuro, non si purificherà, sarà eliminato dall’assemblea, perché ha contaminato il santuario del Signore e l’acqua della purificazione non è stata aspersa su di lui: è impuro.
21 And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.	21 Sarà per loro una legge perenne. Colui che avrà asperso l’acqua di purificazione si laverà le vesti; chi avrà toccato l’acqua di purificazione sarà impuro fino alla sera.
22 And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.	22 Quanto l’impuro avrà toccato, sarà impuro; chi lo avrà toccato sarà impuro fino alla sera».
