KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron Il dit:
2 This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:	2 "Voici un décret de la Loi que Yahvé a prescrite. Parle aux Israélites. Qu'ils t'amènent une vacherousse sans défaut ni tare, et qui n'ait pas porté le joug.
3 And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:	3 Vous la donnerez à Eléazar, le prêtre. On la mènera hors du camp et on l'immolera devant lui.
4 And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:	4 Puis Eléazar, le prêtre, prendra sur son doigt un peu du sang de la victime, et de ce sang il ferasept aspersions dans la direction de l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous.
5 And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:	5 On brûlera alors la vache sous ses yeux; on en brûlera la peau, la chair, le sang, ainsi que lafiente.
6 And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.	6 Le prêtre prendra ensuite du bois de cèdre, de l'hysope et du rouge de cochenille, et les jetteradans le feu où se consume la vache.
7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.	7 Puis il nettoiera ses vêtements, il se lavera le corps avec de l'eau; après quoi, il rentrera au camp,mais il sera impur jusqu'au soir.
8 And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.	8 Celui qui aura brûlé la vache nettoiera ses vêtements, se lavera le corps avec de l'eau, et seraimpur jusqu'au soir.
9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.	9 C'est un homme en état de pureté qui recueillera les cendres de la vache et les déposera, hors ducamp, en un lieu pur. Elles resteront à l'usage rituel de la communauté des Israélites pour faire l'eau lustrale; c'estun sacrifice pour le péché.
10 And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.	10 Celui qui aura recueilli les cendres de la vache nettoiera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'ausoir. Pour les Israélites comme pour l'étranger qui réside parmi eux, ce sera un décret perpétuel.
11 He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.	11 "Celui qui touche un cadavre, quel que soit le mort sera impur sept jours.
12 He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.	12 Il se purifiera avec ces eaux, le troisième et le septième jour, et il sera pur; mais s'il ne se purifiepas le troisième et le septième jour, il ne sera pas pur.
13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.	13 Quiconque a touché un mort, le corps d'un homme qui meurt, et ne s'est pas purifié, souille laDemeure de Yahvé; cet homme sera retranché d'Israël, car les eaux lustrales n'ont pas coulé sur lui, il est impur,son impureté est en lui.
14 This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.	14 Voici la loi pour le cas d'un homme qui meurt dans une tente. Quiconque entre dans la tente, etquiconque s'y trouve, sera impur sept jours.
15 And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.	15 Est également impur tout récipient ouvert, qui n'a pas été fermé par un couvercle ou par un lien.
16 And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.	16 Quiconque touche, dans la campagne, un homme assassiné, un mort, des ossements humains, ouun tombeau, sera impur sept jours.
17 And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:	17 "On prendra, pour cet homme impur, de la cendre de la victime consumée en sacrifice pour lepéché. On versera de l'eau vive par-dessus, dans un vase.
18 And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:	18 Puis un homme en état de pureté prendra de l'hysope qu'il plongera dans l'eau. Il fera alorsl'aspersion sur la tente, sur tous les vases et sur toutes les personnes qui s'y trouvent, et de même sur celui qui atouché des ossements, un homme assassiné, un mort ou un tombeau.
19 And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.	19 L'homme pur fera l'aspersion sur l'impur, le troisième et le septième jour, et le septième jour ill'aura délivré de son péché. L'homme impur nettoiera alors ses vêtements, il se lavera avec de l'eau et le soir ilsera pur.
20 But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.	20 Mais un homme impur qui omettrait de se purifier ainsi sera retranché de la communauté, car ilsouillerait le sanctuaire de Yahvé. Les eaux lustrales n'ont pas coulé sur lui, c'est un impur.
21 And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.	21 Ce sera pour eux un décret perpétuel. Celui qui fait l'aspersion d'eaux lustrales nettoiera sesvêtements et celui qui a touché à ces eaux sera impur jusqu'au soir.
22 And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.	22 Tout ce que l'impur a touché sera impur, et la personne qui l'a touché sera impure jusqu'au soir.
