1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,	1 - Il Signore parlò a Mosè ed Aronne, e disse:
2 This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:	2 «Quest'è la regola per la vittima stabilita dal Signore: Comanda a' figli d'Israele che ti portino una vacca rossa finita di crescere, che non abbia alcun difetto, e non abbia portato il giogo.
3 And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:	3 La consegnerete ad Eleazaro sacerdote, il quale, condottala fuori del campo, l'immolerà alla presenza di tutti;
4 And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:	4 poi, intinto il dito nel sangue di quella, ne farà aspersione sette volte in direzione dell'ingresso del tabernacolo,
5 And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:	5 e la farà bruciare a vista di tutti, dando alle fiamme anche la pelle, le carni, il sangue e gli escrementi.
6 And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.	6 Sulla fiamma che consuma la vacca, il sacerdote metterà anche del legno di cedro, dell'issopo, e del cocco tinto due volte.
7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.	7 In ultimo, lavatesi le vesti e la persona, rientrerà negli accampamenti, e sarà immondo fino a sera.
8 And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.	8 Anche quegli che avrà bruciato la vacca si laverà le vesti ed il corpo e sarà immondo fino a sera.
9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.	9 Quindi, un uomo mondo raccoglierà le ceneri della vacca, e le deporrà fuori del campo in un luogo mondissimo, per esservi conservate ad uso della moltitudine dei figli d'Israele, e farne l'acqua dell'aspersione, perchè la vacca fu bruciata per il peccato.
10 And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.	10 Quegli che ne avrà portate via le ceneri si laverà le vesti, e rimarrà immondo sino alla sera. Terranno questo come cosa santa con legge perpetua tanto i figli d'Israele, quanto i forestieri che abitano fra loro.
11 He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.	11 Chi avrà toccato il cadavere di un uomo, e sarà perciò divenuto immondo per sette giorni,
12 He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.	12 sarà asperso con quest'acqua il giorno terzo ed il settimo, e così tornerà mondo. Se non si farà aspergere il giorno terzo, non potrà essere dichiarato mondo al settimo.
13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.	13 Chiunque avrà toccato il cadavere di un uomo, e non si sarà fatto aspergere con questa mistura, profanerà il tabernacolo del Signore e perirà di mezzo ad Israele; non essendo stato asperso con l'acqua dell'espiazione, sarà immondo, e su lui rimarrà la sua immondezza.
14 This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.	14 Ecco ora la legge relativa ad un uomo che muore in una tenda: Tutti quelli che entrano in quella tenda, e tutti gli utensili che vi sono, saranno immondi per sette giorni.
15 And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.	15 Un vaso che non abbia coperchio, o altra legatura di sopra, sarà immondo.
16 And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.	16 Se uno all'aperto toccherà il cadavere d'un uomo ucciso, o morto naturalmente, oppure un osso di lui o il sepolcro, sarà immondo per sette giorni.
17 And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:	17 Prenderanno delle ceneri della vacca bruciata per il peccato, e messele in un vaso vi verseranno sopra dell'acqua viva.
18 And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:	18 Un uomo mondo v'intingerà dell'issopo, e con questo aspergerà tutta la tenda, tutta la suppellettile, e gli uomini macchiati di tal impurità.
19 And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.	19 In questo modo l'uomo mondo purificherà l'immondo al terzo ed al settimo giorno; l'uomo purificato al settimo giorno laverà sè e le sue vesti, e rimarrà immondo fino alla sera.
20 But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.	20 Se uno non si farà espiare con questo rito, l'anima sua sarà radiata dalla comunità, perchè ha macchiato il santuario del Signore, e non s'è fatto aspergere con l'acqua della lustrazione.
21 And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.	21 Sarà questo un precetto ed un'ordinanza perpetua. Anche quegli che farà l'aspersione con l'acqua si laverà le vesti. Chiunque avrà toccato l'acqua dell'espiazione sarà immondo fino a sera.
22 And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.	22 L'immondo renderà immondo tutto quello che toccherà, e quegli che avrà toccato una qualunque di queste cose sarà immondo fino alla sera».
