Isaiah 32

1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.	1 - Ecco che il re regnerà per la giustizia, e i principi per l'equità terranno il principato.
2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.	2 E sotto la loro protezione l'uomo sarà come chi trova un riparo contro il vento, un ricetto contro la bufera, o ruscelli d'acque in terra arida, o l'ombra di prominente masso in plaga deserta.
3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.	3 Gli occhi di quei che vedono, più non saranno offuscati, e le orecchie di quei che ascoltano udiranno attentamente.
4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.	4 E il cuore degli stolti intenderà la scienza, e la lingua dei balbuzienti parlerà sciolta e speditamente.
5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.	5 Lo stolto non sarà più chiamato principe nè il fraudolento sarà nominato maggiorente.
6 For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.	6 Perchè lo stolto parlerà cose stolte e il suo cuore agirà iniquamente, adoperando l'ipocrisia, sparlando malamente del Signore, lasciando chi ha fame nell'inedia e togliendo a chi ha sete il refrigerio dell'acqua.
7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.	7 Pessime armi sono quelle dell'uomo fraudolento, perchè egli acconcia i suoi disegni per perdere i mansueti con parole mendaci, quand'anche il povero che parla abbia tutte le ragioni.
8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.	8 Ma chi è nobile principe penserà cose nobili da principe, egli starà sopra la nobiltà.
9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.	9 Donne fastose, alzatevi e udite la mia voce; figliuole confidenti, prestate orecchio al mio parlare.
10 Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.	10 Perchè, dopo un anno e giorni, voi tanto confidenti sbigottirete; perchè la vendemmia sarà distrutta, la raccolta più non giungerà.
11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.	11 Stupite, o donne fastose, sbigottite, o voi tanto sicure, spogliatevi, e andate confuse colle vesti di sacco sui fianchi.
12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.	12 Dai percossi petti traete pianto, sopra le campagne amene, le vigne feraci!
13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:	13 Sul suolo del mio popolo cresceranno le spine e i pruni: quanto più sopra tutte le case di piacere della città esultante!
14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;	14 Perchè il palazzo è lasciato nell'abbandono, l'affollamento della città è cessato, l'Ofel e la Rocca diventeranno in eterno spelonche, gradito soggiorno di onagri e pascolo dei greci.
15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.	15 Fino a che si spanda dall'alto lo spirito sopra di noi e il deserto diventi un giardino e un giardino sia scambiato con una selva.
16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.	16 E nel deserto abiti l'equità e nel giardino abiti la giustizia.
17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.	17 E opera della giustizia sarà la pace, e prodotto della pace sarà la quiete e la sicurezza in sempiterno.
18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;	18 Il mio popolo dimorerà nell'amenità della pace, nei padiglioni della sicurezza e in una quiete doviziosa.
19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.	19 E la grandine piomberà per abbattere la foresta e la città sarà profondamente umiliata.
20 Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.	20 Beati voi, che seminate lungo tutte le acque e che lasciate liberi i piè del bue e del giumento!
