Isaiah 32

1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.	1 Ecco, che il re regnerà con giustizia, e i principi governeranno con rettitudine.
2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.	2 Ed ei sarà come luogo di riparo dal vento, e rifugio dalla tempesta, come un rio di acque in tempo di sete, e come l'ombra di un masso, che sporge in fuora in una deserta campagna.
3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.	3 Non saranno più offuscati gli occhi dei veggenti, e le orecchie degli ascoltanti saranno intente a udire.
4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.	4 E il cuor degli stolti capirà la scienza; e la lingua de' balbuzienti parlerà speditamente, e con chiarezza.
5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.	5 L'insensato non avrà più nome di principe; né l'impostore sarà chiamato maggiore:
6 For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.	6 Imperocché lo stolto parlerà scioccamente, e il cuore di lui macchinerà ingiustizie, usando ipocrisia, e parlando del Signore con doppiezza, e consumando l'anima dell'affamato, e togliendo al sitibondo il refrigerio.
7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.	7 Gli strumenti dell'uomo fraudolento son pessimi: perocché egli ordì sue trame per rovinare con mendaci parole i mansueti, mentre il povero chiedeva quello, che è giusto.
8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.	8 Ma il principe penserà cose degne di principe, ed egli soprasterà ai condottieri.
9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.	9 Donne facoltose alzatevi, e udite mia voce: figlie, che vivete senza pensiero, prestate le orecchie al mio sermone:
10 Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.	10 Imperocché dopo giorni, e dopo l'anno, voi senza pensiero sarete con turbate: perocché finita è la vendemmia, non vi sarà più da raspollare.
11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.	11 Restate stupide, o donne facoltose; tubatevi voi, che eravate senza pensiero: spogliatevi, siate confuse, raccogliete a' fianchi la veste.
12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.	12 Piangete i bambini, che allattate, l'amata terra, la vigna ferace.
13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:	13 Sulla terra del popol mio spunteranno spine, e pruni: quanto più sopra tutte le case della città ridondante di allegrezza?
14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;	14 Perocché la casa è abbandonata, la città piena di gente è derelitta: le sue caverne sono coperte per sempre di palpabili tenebre: divertimento degli asini selvaggi, e luogo di pastura pei greggi,
15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.	15 Fino a tanto che si spanda dall'alto lo spirito sopra di noi; e il deserto sarà un Carmelo, e il Carmelo sarà stimato un deserto.
16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.	16 E avrà sua stanza nella solitudine l'equità, e la giustizia sederà sul Carmelo.
17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.	17 E opera della giustizia sarà la pace, ed effetto della giustizia la quiete, e la sicura fidanza in sempiterno.
18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;	18 E sederà il popol mio nella bellezza della pace, e ne' tabernacoli della fidanza, e nella doviziosa requie.
19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.	19 Ma al basso della foresta cadrà la grandine; perocché la città sarà gran demente umiliata.
20 Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.	20 Beati voi, che seminate sopra tutte le acque, e vi mettete dentro il piede del bue, e dell'asino.
