Sirach 40

KING JAMES BIBLE	BIBLIA
1 Great travail is created for every man, and an heavy yoke is upon the sons of Adam, from the day that they go out of their mother's womb, till the day that they return to the mother of all things.	1 Grandes trabajos han sido creados para todo hombre, un yugo pesado hay sobre los hijos de Adán, desde el día que salieron del vientre de su madre, hasta el día del retorno a la madre de todo.
2 Their imagination of things to come, and the day of death, [trouble] their thoughts, and [cause] fear of heart;	2 Sus reflexiones, el miedo de su corazón es la idea del futuro, el día de la muerte.
3 From him that sitteth on a throne of glory, unto him that is humbled in earth and ashes;	3 Desde el que está sentado en un trono glorioso, hasta el que en tierra y ceniza está humillado,
4 From him that weareth purple and a crown, unto him that is clothed with a linen frock.	4 desde el que lleva púrpura y corona, hasta el que se cubre de tela grosera, sólo furor, envidia, turbación, inquietud, miedo a la muerte, resentimiento y discordia.
5 Wrath, and envy, trouble, and unquietness, fear of death, and anger, and strife, and in the time of rest upon his bed his night sleep, do change his knowledge.	5 A la hora del descanso en la cama, el sueño de la noche altera el conocimiento.
6 A little or nothing is his rest, and afterward he is in his sleep, as in a day of keeping watch, troubled in the vision of his heart, as if he were escaped out of a battle.	6 Poco, casi nada, reposa, y ya en sueños, como en día de guardia, se ve turbado por las visiones de su corazón, como el que ha huído ante el combate.
7 When all is safe, he awaketh, and marvelleth that the fear was nothing.	7 A la hora de su turno se despierta, sorprendido de su vano temor.
8 [Such things happen] unto all flesh, both man and beast, and that is sevenfold more upon sinners.	8 Para toda carne, del hombre hasta la bestia, mas para los pecadores siete veces más:
9 Death, and bloodshed, strife, and sword, calamities, famine, tribulation, and the scourge;	9 Muerte, sangre, discordia, espada, adversidades, hambre, tribulación, azote.
10 These things are created for the wicked, and for their sakes came the flood.	10 Contra los sin ley fue creado todo esto, y por su culpa se produjo el diluvio.
11 All things that are of the earth shall turn to the earth again: and that which is of the waters doth return into the sea.	11 Todo cuanto de tierra viene, a tierra vuelve, y cuanto de agua, en el mar desemboca.
12 All bribery and injustice shall be blotted out: but true dealing shall endure for ever.	12 Todo don e injusticia serán aventados, más la fidelidad subsistirá por siempre.
13 The goods of the unjust shall be dried up like a river, and shall vanish with noise, like a great thunder in rain.	13 Las riquezas de los injustos se esfumarán como un torrente, como un gran trueno que en tormenta estalla.
14 While he openeth his hand he shall rejoice: so shall transgressors come to nought.	14 Cuando él abre las manos, se contenta, así los transgresores desaparecerán por completo.
15 The children of the ungodly shall not bring forth many branches: but are as unclean roots upon a hard rock.	15 Los vástagos de los impíos no tienen muchas ramas, las raíces impuras sólo hallan piedra áspera.
16 The weed growing upon every water and bank of a river shall be pulled up before all grass.	16 Caña que brota en toda agua o borde de río será arrancada antes que toda hierba.
17 Bountifulness is as a most fruitful garden, and mercifulness endureth for ever.	17 La caridad es como un paraíso de bendición, y la limosna permanece para siempre.
18 To labour, and to be content with that a man hath, is a sweet life: but he that findeth a treasure is above them both.	18 La vida del que se basta a sí mismo y del obrero es dulce, pero más que ambos el que encuentra un tesoro.
19 Children and the building of a city continue a man's name: but a blameless wife is counted above them both.	19 Los hijos y la fundación de una ciudad perpetúan el nombre, pero más que ambas cosas es estimada la mujer intachable.
20 Wine and musick rejoice the heart: but the love of wisdom is above them both.	20 El vino y la música ponen contento el corazón, pero más que ambas cosas el amor a la sabiduría.
21 The pipe and the psaltery make sweet melody: but a pleasant tongue is above them both.	21 La flauta y el salterio hacen el canto suave, pero más que ambas cosas la lengua dulce.
22 Thine eye desireth favour and beauty: but more than both corn while it is green.	22 Gracia y belleza el ojo anhela, pero más que ambas cosas el verdor del sembrado.
23 A friend and companion never meet amiss: but above both is a wife with her husband.	23 Amigo y compañero se encuentran a su hora, pero más que ambos la mujer con el marido.
24 Brethren and help are against time of trouble: but alms shall deliver more than them both.	24 Amigos y socorro para el tiempo de tribulación, pero más que ambos salva la limosna.
25 Gold and silver make the foot stand sure: but counsel is esteemed above them both.	25 Oro y plata hacen el paso firme, pero más que ambos se estima el consejo.
26 Riches and strength lift up the heart: but the fear of the Lord is above them both: there is no want in the fear of the Lord, and it needeth not to seek help.	26 La riqueza y la fuerza realzan el corazón, pero más que las dos, el temor del Señor. En el temor del Señor no existe mengua, con él no hay ya por qué buscar ayuda.
27 The fear of the Lord is a fruitful garden, and covereth him above all glory.	27 El temor del Señor como un paraíso de bendición, protege él más que toda gloria.
28 My son, lead not a beggar's life; for better it is to die than to beg.	28 Hijo, no lleves una vida de mendicidad, que más vale morir que mendigar.
29 The life of him that dependeth on another man's table is not to be counted for a life; for he polluteth himself with other men's meat: but a wise man well nurtured will beware thereof.	29 Hombre que mira a la mesa de otro no merece el nombre de vida su existencia. Con comida ajena mancha su boca, pero el hombre instruido y educado de ello se guardará.
30 Begging is sweet in the mouth of the shameless: but in his belly there shall burn a fire.	30 En la boca del descarado la mendicidad resulta dulce, pero en su vientre es un fuego que abrasa.
