The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.2 May the Lord hear you in the day of tribulation. May the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.3 May he send you help from the sanctuary and watch over you from Zion.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,4 May he be mindful of all your sacrifices, and may your burnt-offerings be fat.
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.5 May he grant to you according to your heart, and confirm all your counsels.
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.6 We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God, we will be magnified.
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.7 May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the Lord has saved his Christ. He will hear him from his holy heaven. The salvation of his right hand is in his power.
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.8 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we will call upon the name of the Lord our God.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.9 They have been bound, and they have fallen. But we have risen up, and we have been set upright.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.10 O Lord, save the king, and hear us on the day that we will call upon you.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
