KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.1 For the leader. A psalm of David.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.2 The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky proclaims its builder's craft.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.3 One day to the next conveys that message; one night to the next imparts that knowledge.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,4 There is no word or sound; no voice is heard;
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.5 Yet their report goes forth through all the earth, their message, to the ends of the world. God has pitched there a tent for the sun;
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.6 it comes forth like a bridegroom from his chamber, and like an athlete joyfully runs its course.
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.7 From one end of the heavens it comes forth; its course runs through to the other; nothing escapes its heat.
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.8 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The decree of the LORD is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.9 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart. The command of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eye.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.10 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The statutes of the LORD are true, all of them just;
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.11 More desirable than gold, than a hoard of purest gold, Sweeter also than honey or drippings from the comb.
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.12 By them your servant is instructed; obeying them brings much reward.
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.13 Who can detect heedless failings? Cleanse me from my unknown faults.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.14 But from willful sins keep your servant; let them never control me. Then shall I be blameless, innocent of grave sin.
Let the words of my mouth meet with your favor, keep the thoughts of my heart before you, LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
