1 Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.	1 Depois disto, aconteceu que Davide derrotou os Filisteus e os humilhou, arrebatando às suas mãos Get e as cidades da sua dependência.
2 And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.	2 Derrotou também Moab, e os Moabitas ficaram sujeitos a Davide, pagando-lhe tributos.
3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.	3 Neste tempo Davide derrotou também Adarezer, rei de Soba, no país de Hemat, quando partiu para estender o seu império até ao rio Eufrates.
4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.	4 Davide tomou-lhe mil carros tirados a quatro cavalos e sete mil cavaleiros, e cortou os jarretes a todos os cavalos dos carros, excepto aos cavalos de cem carros, que reservou para si.
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.	5 Sobrevindo os Sírios de Damasco em socorro de Adarezer, rei de Soba, Davide matou-lhes vinte e dois mil homens.
6 Then David put garrisons in Syria-damascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.	6 Pôs guarnição em Damasco, para que também tivesse sujeita a si a Síria e lhe fosse tributária. O Senhor ajudou-o em tudo aquilo que empreendeu.
7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.	7 Tomou também Davide os escudos de ouro, que tinham sido dos soldados de Aderezer, e levou-os para Jerusalém.
8 Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.	8 Tomou também de Tebat e de Cun, cidades do rei Adarezer, grande quantidade de bronze, com o qual Salomão fez o mar de bronze, e as colunas e os utensílios de bronze.
9 Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;	9 Ora Tou, rei de Hemat, tendo ouvido dizer que Davide tinha desfeito todo o exército de Adarezer, rei de Soba,
10 He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to inquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.	10 enviou Adorão, seu filho, ao rei Davide para lhe pedir a sua aliança e para lhe dar os parabéns, por ter desfeito e vencido Adarezer, porque Tou era inimigo de Adarezer.
11 Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.	11 Consagrou o rei Davide ao Senhor todos os vasos de ouro, de prata, e de bronze, (que Tou havia mandado) com a prata e ouro que tinha tomado a todos os povos, assim da Iduméa, de Moab e de Amon, como também dos Filisteus e dos Amalecitas,
12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.	12 Por outro lado Abisai, filho de Sarvia, derrotou dezoito mil Idumeus no vale das Salinas,
13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.	13 e pôs guarnições na Iduméa, para que a Iduméa ficasse sujeita a Davide. O Senhor salvou Davide em todas as expedições que fez.
14 So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.	14 Davide reinou sobre todo o Israel, e julgava e fazia justiça a todo o seu povo.
15 And Joab the son Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.	15 Joab, filho de Sarvin, era chefe dos exércitos; Josafat, filho de Ailud, arquivista;
16 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;	16 Sadoc, filho de Aquitob, e Almelec, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes; Susa era secretário;
17 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.	17 Banaias, filho de Jojada, comandava as legiões dos Cereteus e dos Feleteus; e os filhos de Davide eram os primeiros ao lado do rei.
