1 Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.	1 Ézsaunak, azaz Edomnak nemzetsége pedig a következő.
2 Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;	2 Ézsau feleségül vette Kánaán lányai közül Ádát, a hetita Élon lányát, ezenkívül Oholibámát, Ánának, a horita Cibón fiának lányát,
3 And Bashemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebajoth.	3 továbbá Bászemátot, Izmael lányát, Nebajót nővérét.
4 And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel;	4 Áda Elifázt szülte, Bászemát Reuelt szülte,
5 And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan.	5 Oholibáma Jehust, Ihelont és Kórét szülte. Ezek Ézsaunak azon fiai, akik Kánaán földjén születtek neki.
6 And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.	6 Ézsau azután fogta a feleségeit, a fiait s a lányait, és háza egész népét, valamint jószágát és barmait, s mindent, amit Kánaánban szerzett, és Szeír földjére ment, különválva öccsétől, Jákobtól.
7 For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.	7 Igen gazdagok voltak ugyanis, így nem élhettek együtt, mert a föld, ahol laktak, nyájaik sokasága miatt nem tudta mindkettőjüket eltartani.
8 Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.	8 Azután Ézsau, vagyis Edom, letelepedett Szeír hegyén.
9 And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:	9 Ézsaunak, az edomiták atyjának nemzetsége Szeír hegyén a következő,
10 These are the names of Esau's sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.	10 és fiainak neve a következő: Elifáz, Ádának, Ézsau feleségének a fia, és Reuel, Bászemátnak, Ézsau feleségének a fia.
11 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.	11 Elifáz fiai voltak: Temán, Ómár, Szefó, Gátám és Kenez.
12 And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife.	12 Támna pedig, aki Elifáznak, Ézsau fiának mellékfelesége volt, Amaleket szülte neki. Ezek Ádának, Ézsau feleségének fiai.
13 And these are the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.	13 Reuel fiai pedig: Náhát, Zára, Sámma és Meza; ezek Bászemátnak, Ézsau feleségének fiai.
14 And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife: and she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.	14 Oholibáma pedig, Ézsaunak az a felesége, aki Cibón fiának, Ánának volt a lánya, a következő fiúkat szülte neki: Jehust, Ihelont és Kórét.
15 These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,	15 Ézsau fiainak fejedelmei a következők: Elifáznak, Ézsau elsőszülöttének fiai: Temán fejedelem, Ómár fejedelem, Szefó fejedelem, Kenez fejedelem,
16 Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.	16 Kóré fejedelem, Gátám fejedelem, Amalek fejedelem. Ezek az Elifáztól való fejedelmek Edom földjén, és ezek Áda fiai.
17 And these are the sons of Reuel Esau's son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.	17 Reuelnek, Ézsau fiának fiai pedig a következők: Náhát fejedelem, Zára fejedelem, Sámma fejedelem, Meza fejedelem. Ezek a Reueltől való fejedelmek Edom földjén, és ezek Bászemátnak, Ézsau feleségének fiai.
18 And these are the sons of Aholibamah Esau's wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.	18 Oholibámának, Ézsau feleségének fiai pedig a következők: Jehus fejedelem, Ihelon fejedelem, Kóré fejedelem. Ezek az Oholibámától, Ána lányától, Ézsau feleségétől való fejedelmek.
19 These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.	19 Ezek Ézsaunak, azaz Edomnak fiai, és ezek a fejedelmeik.
20 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,	20 A horita Szeír fiai, és annak a földnek a lakosai a következők: Lótán, Sobál, Cibón, Ána,
21 And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the dukes of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.	21 Díson, Eszer és Dísán. Ezek a horiták fejedelmei, Szeír fiai, Edom földjén.
22 And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan's sister was Timna.	22 Lótán fiai pedig ezek voltak: Hóri és Hemán. Lótán nővére pedig Támna volt.
23 And the children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.	23 Sobál fiai a következők: Alván, Manhat, Ebál, Szefó és Onám.
24 And these are the children of Zibeon; both Ajah, and Anah: this was that Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.	24 Cibón fiai a következők: Ája és Ána. Ez az az Ána, aki meleg forrásokat talált a pusztában, amikor apjának, Cibónnak a szamarait legeltette.
25 And the children of Anah were these; Dishon, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.	25 A fia Díson volt, a lánya pedig Oholibáma.
26 And these are the children of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.	26 Díson fiai a következők: Hamdán, Esebán, Jetrám és Kárán.
27 The children of Ezer are these; Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.	27 Eszer fiai a következők: Bálaán, Záván és Ákán.
28 The children of Dishan are these: Uz, and Aran.	28 Dísán fiai pedig Úc és Arán voltak.
29 These are the dukes that came of the Horites; duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,	29 A horiták fejedelmei a következők: Lótán fejedelem, Sobál fejedelem, Cibón fejedelem, Ána fejedelem,
30 Duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan: these are the dukes that came of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.	30 Díson fejedelem, Eszer fejedelem, Dísán fejedelem. Ezek a horiták fejedelmei, törzseik szerint Szeír földjén.
31 And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.	31 A királyok pedig, akik Edom földjén uralkodtak, mielőtt Izrael fiainak királyuk lett volna, a következők voltak:
32 And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.	32 Uralkodott Edomban Bela, Beor fia; a városának neve: Denába.
33 And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.	33 Amikor Bela meghalt, Jobáb, a boszrai Zára fia lett a király helyette.
34 And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead.	34 Amikor pedig Jobáb is meghalt, a temániták földjéről való Husám lett a király helyette.
35 And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.	35 Amikor az is meghalt, Hadad, Bádád fia lett a király helyette, az, aki megverte Mádiánt Moáb földjén. A városának neve: Ávit.
36 And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.	36 Amikor Hadad meghalt, a mászrekai Szemla lett a király helyette.
37 And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.	37 Amikor az is meghalt, a folyóvíz melletti Rehobótból való Saul lett a király helyette.
38 And Saul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.	38 Amikor pedig az is meghalt, Balánán, Ákobor fia követte az uralkodásban.
39 And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.	39 Amikor ő meghalt, Ádár lett a király helyette. A városának neve Fáu, a feleségét pedig Meetábelnek hívták, ő Mátrednek, Mezaáb lányának volt a lánya.
40 And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,	40 Ézsau fejedelmeinek neve pedig családjuk, helyeik és nevük szerint a következő: Támna fejedelem, Álva fejedelem, Jetet fejedelem,
41 Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,	41 Oholibáma fejedelem, Éla fejedelem, Finon fejedelem,
42 Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,	42 Kenez fejedelem, Temán fejedelem, Mábszár fejedelem,
43 Duke Magdiel, duke Iram: these be the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession: he is Esau the father of the Edomites.	43 Magdiél fejedelem, Hírám fejedelem. Ezek Edomnak, azaz Ézsaunak, az edomiták atyjának fejedelmei, annak megfelelően, ahogy birodalmuk földjén laktak.
