Psalms 73

1 A psalm for Asaph. How good is God to Israel, to them that are of a right heart!	1 Ψαλμος του Ασαφ.>> Αγαθος τωοντι ειναι ο Θεος εις τον Ισραηλ, εις τους καθαρους την καρδιαν.
2 But my feet were almost moved; my steps had well nigh slipped.	2 Εμου δε, οι ποδες μου σχεδον εκλονισθησαν? παρ' ολιγον ωλισθησαν τα βηματα μου.
3 Because I had a zeal on occasion of the wicked, seeing the prosperity of sinners.	3 Διοτι εζηλευσα τους μωρους, βλεπων την ευτυχιαν των ασεβων.
4 For there is no regard to their death, nor is there strength in their stripes.	4 Επειδη δεν ειναι λυπαι εις τον θανατον αυτων, αλλ' η δυναμις αυτων ειναι στερεα.
5 They are not in the labour of men: neither shall they be scourged like other men. B Therefore pride hath held them fast: they are covered with their iniquity and their wickedness.	5 Δεν ειναι εν κοποις, ως οι αλλοι ανθρωποι? ουδε μαστιγονονται μετα των λοιπων ανθρωπων.
6 dummy verses inserted by amos	6 δια τουτο περικυκλονει αυτους η υπερηφανια ως περιδεραιον? η αδικια σκεπαζει αυτους ως ιματιον.
7 Their iniquity hath come forth, as it were from fatness: they have passed into the affection of the heart.	7 Οι οφθαλμοι αυτων εξεχουσιν εκ του παχους? εξεπερασαν τας επιθυμιας της καρδιας αυτων.
8 They have thought and spoken wickedness: they have spoken iniquity on high.	8 Εμπαιζουσι και λαλουσιν εν πονηρια καταδυναστειαν? λαλουσιν υπερηφανως.
9 They have set their mouth against heaven: and their tongue hath passed through the earth.	9 Θετουσιν εις τον ουρανον το στομα αυτων, και η γλωσσα αυτων διατρεχει την γην.
10 Therefore will my people return here and full days shall be found in them.	10 Δια τουτο θελει στραφη ενταυθα ο λαος αυτου? και υδατα ποτηριου πληρους εκθλιβονται δι' αυτους.
11 And they said: How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?	11 Και λεγουσι, Πως γνωριζει ταυτα ο Θεος; και υπαρχει γνωσις εν τω Υψιστω;
12 Behold these are sinners; and yet abounding in the world they have obtained riches.	12 Ιδου, ουτοι ειναι ασεβεις και ευτυχουσι διαπαντος? αυξανουσι τα πλουτη αυτων.
13 And I said: Then have I in vain justified my heart, and washed my hands among the innocent.	13 Αρα, ματαιως εκαθαρισα την καρδιαν μου και ενιψα εν αθωοτητι τας χειρας μου.
14 And I have been scourged all the day; and my chastisement hath been in the mornings.	14 Διοτι εμαστιγωθην ολην την ημεραν και ετιμωρηθην πασαν αυγην.
15 If I said: I will speak thus; behold I should condemn the generation of thy children.	15 Αν ειπω, Θελω ομιλει ουτως? ιδου, εξυβριζω εις την γενεαν των υιων σου.
16 I studied that I might know this thing, it is a labour in my sight:	16 Και εστοχασθην να εννοησω τουτο, πλην μ' εφανη δυσκολον?
17 Until I go into the sanctuary of God, and understand concerning their last ends.	17 εωσου εισελθων εις το αγιαστηριον του Θεου, ενοησα τα τελη αυτων.
18 But indeed for deceits thou hast put it to them: when they were lifted up thou hast cast them down.	18 Συ βεβαιως εθεσας αυτους εις τοπους ολισθηρους? ερριψας αυτους εις κρημνον.
19 How are they brought to desolation? they have suddenly ceased to be: they have perished by reason of their iniquity.	19 Πως δια μιας κατηντησαν εις ερημωσιν Ηφανισθησαν, απωλεσθησαν υπο αιφνιδιου ολεθρου.
20 As the dream of them that awake, O Lord; so in thy city thou shalt bring their image to nothing.	20 Ως ονειρον εξεγειρομενου Κυριε, οταν εγερθης, θελεις αφανισει την εικονα αυτων.
21 For my heart hath been inflamed, and my reins have been changed:	21 Ουτως εκαιετο η καρδια μου, και τα νεφρα μου εβασανιζοντο?
22 and I am brought to nothing, and I knew not.	22 και εγω ημην ανοητος και δεν εγνωριζον? κτηνος ημην ενωπιον σου.
23 I am become as a beast before thee: and I am always with thee.	23 Εγω ομως ειμαι παντοτε μετα σου? συ με επιασας απο της δεξιας μου χειρος.
24 Thou hast held me by my right hand; and by thy will thou hast conducted me, and with thy glory thou hast received me.	24 Δια της συμβουλης σου θελεις με οδηγησει και μετα ταυτα θελεις με προσλαβει εν δοξη.
25 For what have I in heaven? and besides thee what do I desire upon earth?	25 Τινα αλλον εχω εν τω ουρανω; και επι της γης δεν θελω αλλον παρα σε.
26 For thee my flesh and my heart hath fainted away: thou art the God of my heart, and the God that is my portion for ever.	26 Ητονησεν η σαρξ μου και η καρδια μου? αλλ' ο Θεος ειναι η δυναμις της καρδιας μου και η μερις μου εις τον αιωνα.
27 For behold they that go far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that are disloyal to thee.	27 Διοτι, ιδου, οσοι απομακρυνονται απο σου, θελουσιν απολεσθη? συ εξωλοθρευσας παντας τους εκκλινοντας απο σου.
28 But it is good for me to adhere to my God, to put my hope in the Lord God: That I may declare all thy praises, in the gates of the daughter of Sion.	28 Αλλα δι' εμε, το να προσκολλωμαι εις τον Θεον ειναι το αγαθον μου? εθεσα την ελπιδα μου επι Κυριον τον Θεον, δια να κηρυττω παντα τα εργα σου.
