1 A psalm for Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord hath spoken: and he hath called the earth. From the rising of the sun, to the going down thereof:	1 Psaume d'Asaph. Le Dieu des dieux, le Seigneur a parlé, * et Il a appelé la terre du lever du soleil au couchant. *
2 out of Sion the loveliness of his beauty.	2 De Sion apparaît l'éclat de Sa beauté.
3 God shall come manifestly: our God shall come, and shall not keep silence. A fire shall burn before him: and a mighty tempest shall be round about him.	3 Dieu viendra visiblement; * Lui, notre Dieu, et Il ne Se taira point. Le feu s'enflammera en Sa présence, * et une tempête violente L'environnera.
4 He shall call heaven from above, and the earth, to judge his people.	4 Il appellera d'en haut le Ciel * et la terre, pour faire le discernement de Son peuple.
5 Gather ye together his saints to him: who set his covenant before sacrifices.	5 Rassemblez devant Lui Ses saints, * qui scellent Son alliance par des sacrifices.
6 And the heavens shall declare his justice: for God is judge.	6 Et les cieux annonceront Sa justice, * car c'est Dieu qui est juge.
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak: O Israel, and I will testify to thee: I am God, thy God.	7 Ecoute, Mon peuple, et Je parlerai; Israël, et Je te rendrai témoignage. * C'est Moi qui suis Dieu, ton Dieu.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices: and thy burnt offerings are always in my sight.	8 Ce n'est pas pour tes sacrifices que Je te reprendrai, * car tes holocaustes sont toujours devant Moi.
9 I will not take calves out of thy house: nor he goats out of thy flocks.	9 Je ne prendrai pas les veaux de ta maison, * ni les boucs de tes troupeaux;
10 For all the beasts of the woods are mine: the cattle on the hills, and the oxen.	10 car toutes les bêtes des forêts sont à Moi, * ainsi que les animaux des montagnes, et les boeufs.
11 I know all the fowls of the air: and with me is the beauty of the field.	11 Je connais tous les oiseaux du ciel, * et la beauté des champs est en Ma présence.
12 If I should be hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.	12 Si J'ai faim, Je ne te le dirai pas; * car l'univers est à Moi, avec tout ce qu'il renferme.
13 Shall I eat the flesh of bullocks? or shall I drink the blood of goats?	13 Est-ce que Je mangerai la chair des taureaux? * ou boirai-Je le sang des boucs?
14 Offer to God the sacrifice of praise: and pay thy vows to the most High.	14 Immole à Dieu un sacrifice de louange, * et rends tes voeux au Très-Haut.
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.	15 Puis invoque-Moi au jour de la tribulation; * Je te délivrerai, et tu Me glorifieras.
16 But to the sinner God hath said: Why dost thou declare my justices, and take my covenant in thy mouth ?	16 Mais Dieu a dit au pécheur: * Pourquoi énumères-tu Mes lois, et pourquoi as-tu constamment Mon alliance à la bouche?
17 Seeing thou hast hated discipline: and hast cast my words behind thee.	17 Toi qui hais la discipline, * et qui as rejeté derrière toi Mes paroles.
18 If thou didst see a thief thou didst run with him: and with adulterers thou hast been a partaker.	18 Si tu voyais un voleur, tu courais avec lui, * et tu mettais ta part avec les adultères.
19 Thy mouth hath abounded with evil, and thy tongue framed deceits.	19 Ta bouche a été remplie de malice, * et ta langue ourdissait la fraude.
20 Sitting thou didst speak against thy brother, and didst lay a scandal against thy mother's son:	20 Tu t'asseyais pour parler contre ton frère, et tu tendais des pièges contre le fils de ta mère. *
21 these things hast thou done, and I was silent. Thou thoughtest unjustly that I should be like to thee: but I will reprove thee, and set before thy face.	21 Voilà ce que tu as fait, et Je me suis tu. Tu as cru d'une manière impie que Je te serais semblable. * Je te reprendrai, et Je mettrai tout sous tes yeux.
22 Understand these things, you that forget God; lest he snatch you away, and there be none to deliver you.	22 Comprenez ces choses, vous qui oubliez Dieu; * de peur qu'Il ne déchire, sans que personne puisse délivrer.
23 The sacrifice of praise shall glorify me: and there is the way by which I will shew him the salvation of God.	23 Le sacrifice de louange est celui qui M'honorera, * et là est la voie par laquelle Je montrerai à l'homme le salut de Dieu.
