DIODATI	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Salmo di Asaf. IL Signore, l’Iddio degl’iddii, ha parlato, ed ha gridato alla terra, Dal sol Levante, infino al Ponente.	1 A psalm of Asaph. The LORD, the God of gods, has spoken and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 Iddio è apparito in gloria, Da Sion, luogo di compiuta bellezza.	2 From Zion God shines forth. perfect in beauty.
3 L’Iddio nostro verrà, e non se ne starà cheto; Egli avrà davanti a sè un fuoco divorante, E d’intorno a sè una forte tempesta.	3 Our God comes and will not be silent! Devouring fire precedes, storming fiercely round about.
4 Egli griderà da alto al cielo, Ed alla terra, per giudicare il suo popolo;	4 God summons the heavens above and the earth to the judgment of his people:
5 E dirà: Adunatemi i miei santi, I quali han fatto meco patto con sacrificio.	5 "Gather my faithful ones before me, those who made a covenant with me by sacrifice."
6 E i cieli racconteranno la sua giustizia; Perciocchè egli è Iddio Giudice. Sela	6 The heavens proclaim divine justice, for God alone is the judge. Selah
7 Ascolta, popol mio, ed io parlerò; Ascolta, Israele, ed io ti farò le mie protestazioni. Io sono Iddio, l’Iddio tuo.	7 "Listen, my people, I will speak; Israel, I will testify against you; God, your God, am I.
8 Io non ti riprenderò per li tuoi sacrificii, Nè per li tuoi olocausti che mi sono continuamente presentati.	8 Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you, nor for your holocausts, set before me daily.
9 Io non prenderò giovenchi dalla tua casa, Nè becchi dalle tue mandre.	9 I need no bullock from your house, no goats from your fold.
10 Perciocchè mie sono tutte le bestie delle selve; Mio è tutto il bestiame che è in mille monti.	10 For every animal of the forest is mine, beasts by the thousands on my mountains.
11 Io conosco tutti gli uccelli de’ monti; E le fiere della campagna sono a mio comando.	11 I know every bird of the heavens; the creatures of the field belong to me.
12 Se io avessi fame, io non te lo direi; Perciocchè il mondo, e tutto quello ch’è in esso, è mio.	12 Were I hungry, I would not tell you, for mine is the world and all that fills it.
13 Mangio io carne di tori, O bevo io sangue di becchi?	13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
14 Sacrifica lode a Dio, E paga all’Altissimo i tuoi voti.	14 Offer praise as your sacrifice to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High.
15 E invocami nel giorno della distretta, Ed io te ne trarrò fuori, e tu mi glorificherai	15 Then call on me in time of distress; I will rescue you, and you shall honor me."
16 Ma all’empio Iddio ha detto: Che hai tu da far a raccontare i miei statuti, Ed a recarti il mio patto in bocca?	16 But to the wicked God says: "Why do you recite my commandments and profess my covenant with your lips?
17 Conciossiachè tu odii correzione, E getti dietro a te le mie parole.	17 You hate discipline; you cast my words behind you!
18 Se tu vedi un ladro, tu prendi piacere d’essere in sua compagnia; E la tua parte è con gli adulteri.	18 When you see thieves, you befriend them; with adulterers you throw in your lot.
19 Tu metti la tua bocca al male, E la tua lingua congegna frode.	19 You give your mouth free rein for evil; you harness your tongue to deceit.
20 Tu siedi, e parli contro al tuo fratello, E metti biasimo sopra il figliuol di tua madre.	20 You sit maligning your own kin, slandering the child of your own mother.
21 Tu hai fatte queste cose, ed io mi sono taciuto; E tu hai pensato, che del tutto io era simile a te. Io ti arguirò, e te le spiegherò in su gli occhi.	21 When you do these things should I be silent? Or do you think that I am like you? I accuse you, I lay the charge before you.
22 Deh! intendete questo, voi che dimenticate Iddio; Che talora io non rapisca, e non vi sia alcuno che riscuota.	22 "Understand this, you who forget God, lest I attack you with no one to rescue.
23 Chi sacrifica lode mi glorifica, E chi addirizza la sua via, Io gli mostrerò la salute di Dio	23 Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor me; to the obedient I will show the salvation of God."
