BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Non a noi, Signore, non a noi, ma al tuo nome da' gloria, per la tua fedeltà, per la tua grazia.	1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and yourconstancy!
2 Perché i popoli dovrebbero dire: "Dov'è il loro Dio?".	2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?'
3 Il nostro Dio è nei cieli, egli opera tutto ciò che vuole.	3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses.
4 Gli idoli delle genti sono argento e oro, opera delle mani dell'uomo.	4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands.
5 Hanno bocca e non parlano, hanno occhi e non vedono,	5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,
6 hanno orecchi e non odono, hanno narici e non odorano.	6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smel nothing.
7 Hanno mani e non palpano, hanno piedi e non camminano; dalla gola non emettono suoni.	7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats.
8 Sia come loro chi li fabbrica e chiunque in essi confida.	8 Their makers wil end up like them, and al who rely on them.
9 Israele confida nel Signore: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.	9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
10 Confida nel Signore la casa di Aronne: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.	10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
11 Confida nel Signore, chiunque lo teme: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.	11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
12 Il Signore si ricorda di noi, ci benedice: benedice la casa d'Israele, benedice la casa di Aronne.	12 Yahweh wil keep us in mind, he will bless, he wil bless the House of Israel, he wil bless the Houseof Aaron,
13 Il Signore benedice quelli che lo temono, benedice i piccoli e i grandi.	13 he wil bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike.
14 Vi renda fecondi il Signore, voi e i vostri figli.	14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too!
15 Siate benedetti dal Signore che ha fatto cielo e terra.	15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
16 I cieli sono i cieli del Signore, ma ha dato la terra ai figli dell'uomo.	16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam.
17 Non i morti lodano il Signore, né quanti scendono nella tomba.	17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence,
18 Ma noi, i viventi, benediciamo il Signore ora e sempre.	18 but we, the living, shal bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.
