1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè, dicendo:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 « Da' quest'ordine ai figli d'Israele e di' loro: quando sarete entrati nella terra di Canaan ne avrete per mezzo della sorte preso possesso, essa sarà, limitata da questi confini.	2 Command the children of Israel, and then shalt say to them: When you are entered into the land of Chanaan, and it shall be fallen into your possession by lot, it shall be bounded by these limits:
3 La parte del mezzogiorno comincerà dal deserto di Sin, vicino a Edom, e avrà per confini ad oriente il mar di Sale,	3 The south side shall begin from the wilderness of Sin, which is by Edom: and shall have the most salt sea for its furthest limits eastward:
4 poi girando al mezzodì della salita dello Scorpione, passerà per Senna e si estenderà al mezzogiorno, fino a Cadesbarne, poi continuerà fino al villaggio d'Adar, estendendosi fino ad Asemona,	4 Which limits shall go round on the south side by the ascent of the Scorpion and so into Senna, and reach toward the south as far as Cadesbarne, from whence the frontiers shall go out to the town called Adar, and shall reach as far as Asemona.
5 per girare da Asemona fino al torrente d'Egitto e finire al lido del mare grande.	5 And the limits shall fetch a compass from Asemona to the torrent of Egypt, and shall end in the shore of the great sea.
6 La parte occidentale comincerà al Mar grande e finirà allo stesso mare.	6 And the west side shall begin from the great sea, and the same shall be the end thereof.
7 A settentrione i confini cominceranno dal Mar grande e arriveranno fino al monte Altissimo,	7 But toward the north side the borders shall begin from the great sea, reaching to the most high mountain,
8 poi andranno verso Ernat fino ai confini di Sedada,	8 From which they shall come to Emath, as far as the borders of Sedada:
9 e si stenderanno fino a Zefrona e al villaggio di Enan. Questi saranno i confini dalla parte di settentrione.	9 nod the limits shall go as far as Zephrona, and the village of Enan. These shall be the borders on the north side.
10 I confini orientali saran tracciati dal villaggio di Enan fino a Sefama.	10 From thence they shall mark out the bounds towards the east side from the village of Enan unto Sephama.
11 Da Sefama scenderanno a Rebla, di faccia alla fontana di Dafnim, poi si stenderanno ad oriente, fino al mare di Ceneret	11 And from Sephama the bounds shall go down to Rebla over against the fountain of Daphnis: from thence they shall come eastward to the sea of Cenereth,
12 giungeranno al Giordano e finalmente saran chiusi dal mare di Sale. Tale sarà il vostro territorio coi suoi confini d'ogni parte ».	12 And shall reach as far as the Jordan, and at the last shall be closed in by the most salt sea. This shall be your land with its borders round about.
13 E Mose, trasmesso ai Figli d'Israele l'ordine, aggiunse: « Questa sarà la terra, di cui prenderei e possesso a sorte e che il Signore ha ordinato si dia alle nove tribù e mezza,	13 And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: This shall be the land which you shall possess by lot, and which the Lord hath commanded to be given to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.
14 giacchè la tribù dei figli di Ruben, secondo le sue famiglie, la tribù dei figli di Gad, secondo il numero delle sue parentele, e la metà della tribù di Manasse,	14 For the tribe of the children of Ruben by their families, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the number of their kindreds, and half of the tribe of Manasses,
15 cioè due tribù e mezza, han già ricevuta la loro parte al di là del Giordano, dirimpetto a Gerico, dal lato d'oriente ».	15 That is, two tribes and a half, have received their portion beyond the Jordan over against Jericho at the east side.
16 E il Signore disse a Mosè:	16 And the Lord said to Moses:
17 « Ecco i nomi di coloro che vi divideranno la terra: Eleazaro sacerdote, Giosuè figlio di Nun,	17 These are the names of the men, that shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun,
18 e un principe di ciascuna tribù,	18 And one prince of every tribe,
19 i nomi dei quali sono i seguenti: della tribù di Giuda, Caleb figlio di Iefone;	19 Whose names are these : Of the tribe of Juda, Caleb the son of Jephone.
20 della tribù di Simeone, Samuele figlio di Ammiud;	20 Of the tribe of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammiud.
21 della tribù di Beniamino, Elidad figlio di Caselon;	21 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chaselon.
22 della tribù dei figli di Dan, Bocci figlio di Iogli;	22 Of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bocci the son of Jogli.
23 dei figli di Giuseppe, per la tribù di Manasse, Hanniel figlio di Efod;	23 Of the children of Joseph of the tribe of Manasses, Hanniel the son of Ephod.
24 per la tribù di Efraim, Camuel figlio di Seftan;	24 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Camuel the son of Sephtan.
25 della tribù di Zàbulon, Elisafan figlio di Farnac;	25 Of the tribe of Zabulon, Elisaphan the son of Pharnach.
26 della tribù di Issacar, il principe Faltiel figlio di Ozan;	26 Of the tribe of Issachar, Phaltiel the prince, the son of Ozan.
27 della tribù di Aser, Ahiud figlio di Salomi;	27 Of the tribe of Aser, Ahiud the son of Salomi.
28 della tribù di Nettali, Fedael figlio di Ammiud ».	28 Of the tribe of Nephtali: Phedael the son of Ammiud.
29 Questi sono coloro ai quali il Signore comandò di fare la divisione della terra di Canaan tra i figli d'Israele.	29 These are they whom the Lord hath commanded to divide the land of Chanaan to the children of Israel,.
