LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Giubilate nel Signore, o giusti; ai retti s'addice la lode.	1 Shout for joy, you upright; praise comes wel from the honest.
2 Celebrate il Signore con la cetra, con l'arpa a dieci corde a lui inneggiate.	2 Give thanks to Yahweh on the lyre, play for him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Cantate a lui un cantico nuovo, salmodiate con arte in giubilo festoso.	3 Sing to him a new song, make sweet music for your cry of victory.
4 Poiché retta è la parola del Signore e fedeltà ogni sua opera.	4 The word of Yahweh is straightforward, al he does springs from his constancy.
5 Egli ama la giustizia e l'equità; della misericordia del Signore è piena la terra.	5 He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fil s the earth.
6 Con la parola del Signore furon fatti i cieli e col soffio della sua bocca tutto il loro ornamento.	6 By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all their array.
7 Egli riunì come in un otre le acque del mare, in serbatoi collocò gli abissi.	7 He collects the waters of the sea like a dam, he stores away the abyss in his treasure-house.
8 Tema il Signore tutta la terra, lo riveriscano tutti gli abitanti del mondo;	8 Let the whole earth fear Yahweh, let al who dwel in the world revere him;
9 poiché egli parlò e fu fatto, egli comandò ed esso fu creato.	9 for, the moment he spoke, it was so, no sooner had he commanded, than there it stood!
10 Sventa il Signore il piano dei popoli, rende vani i propositi delle nazioni.	10 Yahweh thwarts the plans of nations, frustrates the counsels of peoples;
11 Il piano del Signore sussiste per sempre, il proposito del suo cuore di generazione in generazione.	11 but Yahweh's own plan stands firm for ever, his heart's counsel from age to age.
12 Beata la nazione il cui Dio è il Signore, il popolo ch'egli s'è scelto per eredità.	12 How blessed the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen as his heritage.
13 Il Signore guarda dal cielo, osserva tutti i figli dell'uomo.	13 From heaven Yahweh looks down, he sees al the children of Adam,
14 Dal luogo della sua dimora guarda su tutti gli abitanti della terra.	14 from the place where he sits he watches al who dwel on the earth;

16 Nessun re può salvarsi con la moltitudine dei suoi soldati; nessun prode trova scampo nell'abbondanza del suo vigore.	16 A large army wil not keep a king safe, nor his strength save a warrior's life;
17 Impotente è il cavallo a portar salvezza e scampo non può portare con l'abbondanza della sua forza.	17 it is delusion to rely on a horse for safety, for all its power it cannot save.
18 Ecco, l'occhio del Signore è sopra quelli che lo temono, su quelli che sperano nella sua misericordia,	18 But see how Yahweh watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his faithful love,
19 per liberare dalla morte le loro anime, per farli sopravvivere in tempo di fame.	19 to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine.
20 Verso il Signore anela l'anima nostra: egli è nostro aiuto e nostro scudo.	20 We are waiting for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield,
21 Sì, in lui gioisce il nostro cuore; sì, noi confidiamo nel santo suo nome.	21 for in him our heart rejoices, in his holy name we trust.
22 Sia su di noi, o Signore, la tua misericordia, poiché in te abbiamo posto la nostra fiducia.	22 Yahweh, let your faithful love rest on us, as our hope has rested in you.
