LA SACRA BIBBIA	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Giubilate nel Signore, o giusti; ai retti s'addice la lode.	1 A psalm for David. Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just: praise becometh the upright.
2 Celebrate il Signore con la cetra, con l'arpa a dieci corde a lui inneggiate.	2 Give praise to the Lord on the harp; sing to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.
3 Cantate a lui un cantico nuovo, salmodiate con arte in giubilo festoso.	3 Sing to him a new canticle, sing well unto him with a loud noise.
4 Poiché retta è la parola del Signore e fedeltà ogni sua opera.	4 For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done with faithfulness.
5 Egli ama la giustizia e l'equità; della misericordia del Signore è piena la terra.	5 He loveth mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.
6 Con la parola del Signore furon fatti i cieli e col soffio della sua bocca tutto il loro ornamento.	6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the power of them by the spirit of his mouth:
7 Egli riunì come in un otre le acque del mare, in serbatoi collocò gli abissi.	7 Gathering together the waters of the sea, as in a vessel; laying up the depths in storehouses.
8 Tema il Signore tutta la terra, lo riveriscano tutti gli abitanti del mondo;	8 Let all the earth fear the Lord, and let all the inhabitants of the world be in awe of him.
9 poiché egli parlò e fu fatto, egli comandò ed esso fu creato.	9 For he spoke and they were made: he commanded and they were created.
10 Sventa il Signore il piano dei popoli, rende vani i propositi delle nazioni.	10 The Lord bringeth to naught the counsels of nations; and he rejecteth the devices of people, and casteth away the counsels of princes.
11 Il piano del Signore sussiste per sempre, il proposito del suo cuore di generazione in generazione.	11 But the counsel of the Lord standeth for ever: the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Beata la nazione il cui Dio è il Signore, il popolo ch'egli s'è scelto per eredità.	12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance.
13 Il Signore guarda dal cielo, osserva tutti i figli dell'uomo.	13 The Lord hath looked from heaven: he hath beheld all the sons of men.
14 Dal luogo della sua dimora guarda su tutti gli abitanti della terra.	14 From his habitation which he hath prepared, he hath looked upon all that dwell on the earth.
15 Ad uno ad uno plasmò il loro cuore, egli scruta tutte le loro azioni.	15 He who hath made the hearts of every one of them: who understandeth all their works.
16 Nessun re può salvarsi con la moltitudine dei suoi soldati; nessun prode trova scampo nell'abbondanza del suo vigore.	16 The king is not saved by a great army: nor shall the giant be saved by his own great strength.
17 Impotente è il cavallo a portar salvezza e scampo non può portare con l'abbondanza della sua forza.	17 Vain is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength.
18 Ecco, l'occhio del Signore è sopra quelli che lo temono, su quelli che sperano nella sua misericordia,	18 Behold the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him: and on them that hope in his mercy.
19 per liberare dalla morte le loro anime, per farli sopravvivere in tempo di fame.	19 To deliver their souls from death; and feed them in famine.
20 Verso il Signore anela l'anima nostra: egli è nostro aiuto e nostro scudo.	20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helper and protector.
21 Sì, in lui gioisce il nostro cuore; sì, noi confidiamo nel santo suo nome.	21 For in him our heart shall rejoice: and in his holy name we have trusted.
22 Sia su di noi, o Signore, la tua misericordia, poiché in te abbiamo posto la nostra fiducia.	22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we have hoped in thee.
