LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Eliu proseguì dicendo:	1 Elihu went on speaking. He said:
2 "Aspetta un poco e ti istruirò, perché ci sono altre cose da dire in difesa di Dio.	2 Be patient a little longer while I explain, for I have more to say on God's behalf.

12 Ma se non ascoltano, periranno di spada; spireranno senza rendersene conto.	12 If not, they go down the Canal and perish in their stupidity.
13 I perversi di cuore accumulano ira, non invocano aiuto, quando Dio li avvince in catene.	13 The stubborn, who cherish their anger and do not cry for help when he chains them,
14 Pèrdono la vita in piena gioventù e la loro esistenza tra gli ieroduli.	14 die in the bloom of youth or live among the male prostitutes of the temple.

20 Non sospirare a quella notte, quando i popoli vanno al loro luogo!	20 Do not crush people you do not know to instal your relations in their place.
21 Bada di non volgerti all'iniquità, perché per questo sei stato provato dall'afflizione.	21 Avoid any tendency to wrong-doing, for this is why affliction is testing you now.
22 Ecco, Dio è sublime nella sua potenza; quale maestro lo può uguagliare?	22 See, God is sublime in his strength and who can teach lessons as he does?
23 Chi può indicargli il cammino, e chi può dirgli: "Hai commesso ingiustizia"?	23 Who has even told him which course to take, or dared to say to him, 'You have done wrong'?
24 Ricòrdati di celebrare la sua opera, che altri uomini hanno cantato.	24 Consider, rather, how you may praise his work, a theme that many have sung.
25 Tutti gli uomini la ammirano, i mortali la contemplano da lontano.	25 This is something that everyone can see, gazing, as we do, from afar.
26 Sì, Dio è grande, anche se non lo riconosciamo; il numero dei suoi anni è incalcolabile.	26 Yes, the greatness of God exceeds our knowledge, the number of his years is past counting.

31 In tal modo sostenta i popoli, e dà loro il cibo in abbondanza.	31 By these means, he sustains the peoples, giving them plenty to eat.
32 Arma le mani di folgori e le scaglia contro il bersaglio.	32 He gathers up the lightning in his hands, assigning it the mark where to strike.
33 Il suo tuono lo annuncia, attira l'ira contro l'iniquità.	33 His crashing gives warning of its coming, anger flashes out against iniquity.
