Job 34

CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINGREEK BIBLE
After proclaiming these things, Eliu now had this to say:1 Επανελαβε δε ο Ελιου και ειπεν?
May the wise hear my words, and may the educated listen to me.2 Ακουσατε τους λογους μου, ω σοφοι?
For the ear examines words, and the mouth discerns foods by the taste.3 Διοτι το ωτιον δοκιμαζει τους λογους, ο δε ουρανισκος γευεται το φαγητον.
Let us choose judgment for ourselves, and let us consider among ourselves what is best.4 Ας εκλεξωμεν εις εαυτους κρισιν?
For Job has said: “I am just, yet God has subverted my judgment.5 Διοτι ο Ιωβ ειπεν, Ειμαι δικαιος? και ο Θεος αφηρεσε την κρισιν μου?
For, within my judgment, there is a lie: my vehement barbs are without any sin.”6 εψευσθην εις την κρισιν μου?
What man is there that is like Job, who drinks up derision as if it were water,7 Τις ανθρωπος ως ο Ιωβ, οστις καταπινει τον χλευασμον ως υδωρ?
who accompanies those who work iniquity, and who walks with impious men?8 και υπαγει εν συνοδια μετα των εργατων της ανομιας, και περιπατει μετα ανθρωπων ασεβων;
For he has said, “Man will not please God, even if he should travel with him.”9 Διοτι ειπεν, ουδεν ωφελει τον ανθρωπον το να ευαρεστη εις τον Θεον.
Therefore, prudent men, hear me: impiety is far from God, and iniquity is far from the Almighty.10 Δια τουτο ακουσατε μου, ανδρες συνετοι?
For he will restore to man his works, and according to the ways of each, he will repay them.11 Επειδη κατα το εργον του ανθρωπου θελει αποδωσει εις αυτον, και θελει καμει εκαστον να ευρη κατα την οδον αυτου.
For truly, God will not condemn in vain, nor will the Almighty repudiate judgment.12 Ναι,
What other is established over the earth? Or whom has he placed over the world, which he made?13 Τις κατεστησεν αυτον επιτηρητην της γης; η τις διεταξε πασαν την οικουμενην;
But, if he directs his heart towards him, he will draw his spirit and breath to himself.14 Εαν βαλη την καρδιαν αυτου επι τον ανθρωπον, θελει συρει εις εαυτον το πνευμα αυτου και την πνοην αυτου?
All flesh will fail together, and man will return to ashes.15 πασα σαρξ θελει εκπνευσει ομου, και ο ανθρωπος θελει επιστρεψει εις το χωμα.
Therefore, if you have understanding, hear what is said, and heed the sound of my eloquence.16 Εαν τωρα εχης συνεσιν?
Is he that does not love judgment able to be corrected? And how can you so greatly condemn him who is just?17 Μηπως κυβερνα ο μισων την ευθυτητα; και θελεις καταδικασει τον κατ' εξοχην δικαιον;
He says to the king, “You are an apostate.” He calls commanders impious.18 οστις λεγει προς βασιλεα, Εισαι ασεβης, προς αρχοντας, Εισθε κακοι;
He does not accept the reputation of leaders; nor does he recognize the tyrant as he contends against the poor. For all are the work of his hands.19 Οστις δεν προσωποληπτει εις αρχοντας ουδε αποβλεπει εις τον πλουσιον μαλλον παρα εις τον πτωχον; επειδη παντες ουτοι ειναι εργον των χειρων αυτου.
They will die suddenly, and the people will be troubled in the middle of the night, but they will pass through it, and the violent will be taken away without a hand.20 Εν μια στιγμη θελουσιν αποθανει, και το μεσονυκτιον ο λαος θελει ταραχθη και θελει παρελθει?
For his eyes are upon the ways of men, and he examines all of their steps.21 Διοτι οι οφθαλμοι αυτου ειναι επι τας οδους του ανθρωπου, Και βλεπει παντα τα βηματα αυτου.
There is no darkness and no shadow of death, where those who work iniquity may be hidden.22 Δεν ειναι σκοτος ουδε σκια θανατου, οπου οι εργαται της ανομιας να κρυφθωσιν.
For it is no longer within the power of man to enter into judgment with God.23 Επειδη δεν θελει αφησει πλεον τον ανθρωπον να ελθη εις κρισιν μετα του Θεου.
He will break into many innumerable pieces, and he will cause others to stand up in their place.24 Θελει συντριψει αναριθμητους ισχυρους και βαλει αλλους αντ' αυτων
For he knows their works, and, as a result, he will bring the night, and they will be crushed.25 διοτι γνωριζει τα εργα αυτων, και ανατρεπει αυτους την νυκτα, και συντριβονται.
Just as the impious do, he has struck them in a place where they can be seen.26 Κτυπα αυτους ως ασεβεις εν τω τοπω των θεατων?
They, as if with great diligence, have withdrawn from him, and they refused to understand all his ways,27 επειδη εξεκλιναν απ' αυτου και δεν εθεωρησαν ουδεμιαν των οδων αυτου?
so that they caused the outcry of the needy to reach him, and he heard the voice of the poor.28 και εκαμον να ελθη προς αυτον η κραυγη των πτωχων, και ηκουσε την φωνην των τεθλιμμενων.
For, when he grants peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hides his face, who is there that can contemplate him, either among the nations, or among all men?29 Και οταν αυτος διδη ησυχιαν, τις θελει διαταραξει αυτην; και οταν κρυπτη το προσωπον αυτου, τις δυναται να ιδη αυτον; ειτε επι εθνος ειτε επι ανθρωπον ομου?
He causes a hypocritical man to reign because of the sins of the people.30 ωστε να μη βασιλευη υποκριτης, δια να μη παγιδευηται ο λαος.
Therefore, since I have been speaking about God, I will not prevent you from doing the same.31 Βεβαιως πρεπει να λεγη τις προς τον Θεον, Επαθον, δεν θελω πλεον πραξει κακως?
If I have erred, you may teach me; if I have spoken unfairly, I will add no more.32 ο, τι δεν βλεπω, συ διδαξον με?
Does God require this of you because it is displeasing to you? For you were the first to speak, and not I. But if you know something better, speak.33 Αλλα μηπως θελει γεινει κατα τον στοχασμον σου; ειτε συ αποβαλης ειτε εκλεξης, αυτος θελει ανταποδωσει, και ουχι εγω?
Let men of understanding speak to me, and let a wise man listen to me.34 Ανδρες συνετοι θελουσιν ειπει προς εμε, και ο σοφος ανθρωπος οστις με ακουει,
But Job has been speaking foolishly, and his words contain unsound teaching.35 Ο Ιωβ δεν ελαλησεν εν γνωσει, και οι λογοι αυτου δεν ησαν μετα συνεσεως.
My father, let Job be tested even to the end; may you not retreat from a man of iniquity.36 Η επιθυμια μου ειναι, ο Ιωβ να εξετασθη εως τελους?
For he adds blasphemy on top of his sins; nevertheless, let him be constrained to be among us, and then let him provoke God to judgment with his speeches.37 Διοτι εις την αμαρτιαν αυτου προσθετει ασεβειαν?
