1 [Ein Wallfahrtslied. Von David.] Ich freute mich, als man mir sagte: "Wir pilgern zum Hause des Herrn!"	1 [Song of Ascents Of David] I rejoiced that they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of Yahweh.'
2 Nun stehen wirklich unsere Füße in deinen Toren, Jerusalem.	2 At last our feet are standing at your gates, Jerusalem!
3 Jerusalem, gebaut als Stadt, die lückenlos in sich geschlossen!	3 Jerusalem, built as a city, in one united whole,
4 Dorthin ziehen die Stämme, die Stämme des Herrn! So ist es Gesetz für Israel, den Namen des Herrn zu preisen.	4 there the tribes go up, the tribes of Yahweh, a sign for Israel to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.
5 Ja, dort stehen die Richterthrone, die Throne für Davids Haus.	5 For there are set the thrones of judgement, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Wünschet Jerusalem Heil! In Sicherheit möge leben, wer immer dich liebt!	6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, prosperity for your homes!
7 Heil wohne in deiner Festung, Sicherheit in deinen Palästen!	7 Peace within your wal s, prosperity in your palaces!
8 Meiner Brüder und Freunde wegen will ich rufen: "Heil in dir!"	8 For love of my brothers and my friends I wil say, 'Peace upon you!'
9 Wegen des Hauses des Herrn, unsres Gottes, erflehe ich für dich Glück.	9 For love of the house of Yahweh our God I wil pray for your wel -being.
