1 For the leader; al Jeduthun. A psalm of David.	1 - Salmo di David: quando era nel deserto dell'Idumea.
2 My soul rests in God alone, from whom comes my salvation.	2 Dio, Dio mio, sin dall'alba io ti cerco: è assetata di te l'anima mia, ed oh! quanto [anela] a te la mia carne
3 God alone is my rock and salvation, my secure height; I shall never fall.	3 in [questa] terra deserta, impraticabile e senz'acqua! Così [anelando, un tempo] a te mi presentavo nel tempio, per contemplar la tua potenza e la tua gloria.
4 How long will you set upon people, all of you beating them down, As though they were a sagging fence or a battered wall?	4 Poichè la tua grazia val meglio della vita, le mie labbra ti loderanno!
5 Even from my place on high they plot to dislodge me. They delight in lies; they bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah	5 Così ti benedirò nella mia vita, e nel tuo nome solleverò le mie mani.
6 My soul, be at rest in God alone, from whom comes my hope.	6 Quasi di grasso e di midollo si sazierà l'anima mia, e con labbra esultanti [ti] loderà la mia bocca.
7 God alone is my rock and my salvation, my secure height; I shall not fall.	7 Sì, mi son ricordato di te sul mio giaciglio, nelle veglie io ripenso a te!
8 My safety and glory are with God, my strong rock and refuge.	8 Perchè tu sei il mio aiutoe all'ombra delle tue ali esulto;
9 Trust God at all times, my people! Pour out your hearts to God our refuge! Selah	9 s'è attaccata a te l'anima mia, e mi sostiene la tua destra!
10 Mortals are a mere breath, the powerful but an illusion; On a balance they rise; together they are lighter than air.	10 E invano essi insidian la mia vita: se n'andranno qui nelle viscere della terra.
11 Do not trust in extortion; in plunder put no empty hope. Though wealth increase, do not set your heart upon it.	11 Saranno abbandonati in poter della spada, preda saran di sciacalli.
12 One thing God has said; two things I have heard: Power belongs to God;	12 Ma il re si rallegrerà in Dio; si glorieranno quanti giurano per lui, perchè sarà tappata la bocca di chi iniquamente parla.
13 3) so too, Lord, does kindness, And you render to each of us according to our deeds.
