Deuteronomium 14

1 Ihr seid Kinder des Herrn, eures Gottes. Ihr sollt euch für einen Toten nicht wund ritzen und keine Stirnglatzen scheren.	1 "You are the sons of the LORD your God; you shall not cut yourselves or make any baldness on your foreheads for the dead.
2 Denn du bist ein Volk, das dem Herrn, deinem Gott, heilig ist, und dich hat der Herr ausgewählt, damit du unter allen Völkern, die auf der Erde leben, das Volk wirst, das ihm persönlich gehört.	2 For you are a people holy to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, out of all the peoples that are on the face of the earth.
3 Du sollst nichts essen, was ein Gräuel ist.	3 "You shall not eat any abominable thing.
4 Dies sind die Großtiere, die ihr essen dürft: Rind, Lamm, Zicklein,	4 These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,
5 Damhirsch, Gazelle, Rehbock, Wildziege, Wisent, Wildschaf und Steinbock.	5 the hart, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, and the mountain-sheep.
6 Ihr dürft jedes Großtier essen, das gespaltene Klauen hat, und zwar ganz gespaltene Klauen, und das zu den Wiederkäuern gehört.	6 Every animal that parts the hoof and has the hoof cloven in two, and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.
7 Von den Großtieren, die wiederkäuen oder ganz gespaltene Klauen haben, dürft ihr aber Folgende nicht essen: Kamel, Hase, Klippdachs. Sie sind zwar Wiederkäuer, haben aber keine gespaltenen Klauen. Sie sollen euch als unrein gelten.	7 Yet of those that chew the cud or have the hoof cloven you shall not eat these: the camel, the hare, and the rock badger, because they chew the cud but do not part the hoof, are unclean for you.
8 Ebenso das Wildschwein, denn es hat zwar gespaltene Klauen, ist aber kein Wiederkäuer. Es soll euch als unrein gelten. Vom Fleisch dieser Tiere dürft ihr nicht essen und ihr Aas dürft ihr nicht berühren.	8 And the swine, because it parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.
9 Von allem, was im Wasser lebt, dürft ihr Folgendes essen: Alles, was Flossen und Schuppen hat, dürft ihr essen.	9 "Of all that are in the waters you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat.
10 Alles, was keine Flossen und keine Schuppen hat, dürft ihr nicht essen. Es soll euch als unrein gelten.	10 And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
11 Alle reinen Vögel dürft ihr essen.	11 "You may eat all clean birds.
12 Dies sind die Vögel, die ihr nicht essen dürft: Aasgeier, Schwarzgeier, Bartgeier,	12 But these are the ones which you shall not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,
13 Milan, die verschiedenen Bussardarten,	13 the buzzard, the kite, after their kinds;
14 alle Arten des Raben,	14 every raven after its kind;
15 Adlereule, Kurzohreule, Langohreule und die verschiedenen Falkenarten,	15 the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk, after their kinds;
16 Kauz, Bienenfresser, Weißeule,	16 the little owl and the great owl, the water hen
17 Kleineule, Fischadler, Fischeule,	17 and the pelican, the carrion vulture and the cormorant,
18 Storch und die verschiedenen Reiherarten, Wiedehopf, Fledermaus	18 the stork, the heron, after their kinds; the hoopoe and the bat.
19 und alles fliegende Kleingetier: Sie sollen euch als unrein gelten und dürfen nicht gegessen werden.	19 And all winged insects are unclean for you; they shall not be eaten.
20 Alle reinen geflügelten Tiere dürft ihr essen.	20 All clean winged things you may eat.
21 aIhr dürft keinerlei Aas essen. Du sollst es dem Fremden, der in euren Stadtbereichen Wohnrecht hat, zum Essen überlassen oder es einem Ausländer verkaufen. Denn du bist ein Volk, das dem Herrn, deinem Gott, heilig ist.Du sollst ein Zicklein nicht in der Milch seiner Mutter kochen.	21 "You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to the alien who is within your towns, that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a people holy to the LORD your God. "You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.
22 Du sollst jedes Jahr den Zehnten von der gesamten Ernte geben, die dein Acker erbringt aus dem, was du angebaut hast.	22 "You shall tithe all the yield of your seed, which comes forth from the field year by year.
23 Vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, sollst du an der Stätte, die er auswählt, indem er dort seinen Namen wohnen lässt, deinen Zehnten an Korn, Wein und Öl und die Erstlinge deiner Rinder, Schafe und Ziegen verzehren, damit du lernst, den Herrn, deinen Gott, zu fürchten, solange du lebst.	23 And before the LORD your God, in the place which he will choose, to make his name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herd and flock; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.
24 Wenn aber der Weg dorthin deine Kräfte übersteigt, weil die Stätte, die der Herr auswählt, indem er dort seinen Namen anbringt, so weit entfernt liegt und der Herr, dein Gott, dich so gesegnet hat, dass du den Zehnten nicht dorthin tragen kannst,	24 And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to bring the tithe, when the LORD your God blesses you, because the place is too far from you, which the LORD your God chooses, to set his name there,
25 dann sollst du alles für Silber verkaufen, das Silber als deinen Besitz zusammenbinden, zu der Stätte ziehen, die der Herr, dein Gott, auswählt,	25 then you shall turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses,
26 dort für das Silber alles kaufen, worauf du Appetit hast - Rinder, Schafe, Ziegen, Wein und Bier, alles, wonach es deinen Gaumen verlangt -, und dann sollst du vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, Mahl halten und fröhlich sein, du und deine Familie.	26 and spend the money for whatever you desire, oxen, or sheep, or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves; and you shall eat there before the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household.
27 Auch sollst du die Leviten, die in deinen Stadtbereichen Wohnrecht haben, nicht im Stich lassen, denn sie haben nicht wie du Landanteil und Erbbesitz.	27 And you shall not forsake the Levite who is within your towns, for he has no portion or inheritance with you.
28 In jedem dritten Jahr sollst du den ganzen Zehnten deiner Jahresernte in deinen Stadtbereichen abliefern und einlagern	28 "At the end of every three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your produce in the same year, and lay it up within your towns;
29 und die Leviten, die ja nicht wie du Landanteil und Erbbesitz haben, die Fremden, die Waisen und die Witwen, die in deinen Stadtbereichen wohnen, können kommen, essen und satt werden, damit der Herr, dein Gott, dich stets segnet bei der Arbeit, die deine Hände tun.	29 and the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled; that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.
