Deuteronomium 14

1 Ihr seid Kinder des Herrn, eures Gottes. Ihr sollt euch für einen Toten nicht wund ritzen und keine Stirnglatzen scheren.	1 “Be sons of the Lord your God. You shall not cut yourselves, nor make yourselves bald, because of the dead.
2 Denn du bist ein Volk, das dem Herrn, deinem Gott, heilig ist, und dich hat der Herr ausgewählt, damit du unter allen Völkern, die auf der Erde leben, das Volk wirst, das ihm persönlich gehört.	2 For you are a holy people, for the Lord your God. And he chose you, so that you may be a people particularly his, out of all the nations on earth.
3 Du sollst nichts essen, was ein Gräuel ist.	3 You shall not eat the things that are unclean.
4 Dies sind die Großtiere, die ihr essen dürft: Rind, Lamm, Zicklein,	4 These are the animals which you ought to eat: the ox, and the sheep, and the goat,
5 Damhirsch, Gazelle, Rehbock, Wildziege, Wisent, Wildschaf und Steinbock.	5 the stag and the roe deer, the gazelle, the wild goat, the addax, the antelope, the giraffe.
6 Ihr dürft jedes Großtier essen, das gespaltene Klauen hat, und zwar ganz gespaltene Klauen, und das zu den Wiederkäuern gehört.	6 Every beast which has a hoof divided into two parts and which also chews the cud, you shall eat.
7 Von den Großtieren, die wiederkäuen oder ganz gespaltene Klauen haben, dürft ihr aber Folgende nicht essen: Kamel, Hase, Klippdachs. Sie sind zwar Wiederkäuer, haben aber keine gespaltenen Klauen. Sie sollen euch als unrein gelten.	7 But those which chew over again, but do not have a divided hoof, you must not eat, such as the camel, the hare, and the hyrax. Since these chew the cud, but do not have a divided the hoof, they shall be unclean to you.
8 Ebenso das Wildschwein, denn es hat zwar gespaltene Klauen, ist aber kein Wiederkäuer. Es soll euch als unrein gelten. Vom Fleisch dieser Tiere dürft ihr nicht essen und ihr Aas dürft ihr nicht berühren.	8 The pig also, since it has a divided hoof, but does not chew over again, shall be unclean. Their flesh shall not be eaten, and you shall not touch their carcasses.
9 Von allem, was im Wasser lebt, dürft ihr Folgendes essen: Alles, was Flossen und Schuppen hat, dürft ihr essen.	9 These you shall eat out of all that dwells in the waters: whatever has fins and scales, you shall eat.
10 Alles, was keine Flossen und keine Schuppen hat, dürft ihr nicht essen. Es soll euch als unrein gelten.	10 Whatever is without fins and scales, you shall not eat, for these are unclean.
11 Alle reinen Vögel dürft ihr essen.	11 All the clean birds, you shall eat.
12 Dies sind die Vögel, die ihr nicht essen dürft: Aasgeier, Schwarzgeier, Bartgeier,	12 You shall not eat those that are unclean: such as the eagle, and the griffin, and the osprey,
13 Milan, die verschiedenen Bussardarten,	13 the crane, and the vulture, and the kite, according to their kind,
14 alle Arten des Raben,	14 and any kind of raven,
15 Adlereule, Kurzohreule, Langohreule und die verschiedenen Falkenarten,	15 and the ostrich, and the owl, and the gull, and the hawk, according to their kind,
16 Kauz, Bienenfresser, Weißeule,	16 the heron, and the swan, and the ibis,
17 Kleineule, Fischadler, Fischeule,	17 and the sea bird, the marsh hen, and the night raven,
18 Storch und die verschiedenen Reiherarten, Wiedehopf, Fledermaus	18 the pelican and the plover, each in their kind, likewise the crested hoopoe and the bat.
19 und alles fliegende Kleingetier: Sie sollen euch als unrein gelten und dürfen nicht gegessen werden.	19 And anything which crawls and also has little wings shall be unclean, and shall not be eaten.
20 Alle reinen geflügelten Tiere dürft ihr essen.	20 All that is clean, you shall eat.
21 aIhr dürft keinerlei Aas essen. Du sollst es dem Fremden, der in euren Stadtbereichen Wohnrecht hat, zum Essen überlassen oder es einem Ausländer verkaufen. Denn du bist ein Volk, das dem Herrn, deinem Gott, heilig ist.Du sollst ein Zicklein nicht in der Milch seiner Mutter kochen.	21 But whatever has died of itself, you shall not eat from it. Give it to the sojourner, who is within your gates, so that he may eat, or sell it to him. For you are the holy people of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in the milk of his mother.
22 Du sollst jedes Jahr den Zehnten von der gesamten Ernte geben, die dein Acker erbringt aus dem, was du angebaut hast.	22 Each year, you shall separate the tithes out of all your crops which spring forth from the earth.
23 Vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, sollst du an der Stätte, die er auswählt, indem er dort seinen Namen wohnen lässt, deinen Zehnten an Korn, Wein und Öl und die Erstlinge deiner Rinder, Schafe und Ziegen verzehren, damit du lernst, den Herrn, deinen Gott, zu fürchten, solange du lebst.	23 And you shall eat these in the sight of the Lord your God, in the place which he will choose, so that his name may be invoked there: the tenth part of your grain and wine and oil, and the firstborn from the herds and your sheep. So may you learn to fear the Lord your God at all times.
24 Wenn aber der Weg dorthin deine Kräfte übersteigt, weil die Stätte, die der Herr auswählt, indem er dort seinen Namen anbringt, so weit entfernt liegt und der Herr, dein Gott, dich so gesegnet hat, dass du den Zehnten nicht dorthin tragen kannst,	24 But when the way and the place which the Lord your God will have chosen is further away, and he will have blessed you, so that you are not able to carry all these things to it,
25 dann sollst du alles für Silber verkaufen, das Silber als deinen Besitz zusammenbinden, zu der Stätte ziehen, die der Herr, dein Gott, auswählt,	25 you shall sell them all, so as to turn them into money, and you shall carry it in your hand, and you shall set out for the place which the Lord will choose.
26 dort für das Silber alles kaufen, worauf du Appetit hast - Rinder, Schafe, Ziegen, Wein und Bier, alles, wonach es deinen Gaumen verlangt -, und dann sollst du vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, Mahl halten und fröhlich sein, du und deine Familie.	26 And you shall buy with the same money whatever pleases you, either from the herds or from the sheep, and also wine and liquor, and all that your soul desires. And you shall eat in the sight of the Lord your God, and you shall feast: you and your household.
27 Auch sollst du die Leviten, die in deinen Stadtbereichen Wohnrecht haben, nicht im Stich lassen, denn sie haben nicht wie du Landanteil und Erbbesitz.	27 As for the Levite, who is within your gates, take care that you do not abandon him, for he has no other portion within your possession.
28 In jedem dritten Jahr sollst du den ganzen Zehnten deiner Jahresernte in deinen Stadtbereichen abliefern und einlagern	28 In the third year, you shall separate another tenth part of all the things which spring forth for you at that time, and you shall store it within your gates.
29 und die Leviten, die ja nicht wie du Landanteil und Erbbesitz haben, die Fremden, die Waisen und die Witwen, die in deinen Stadtbereichen wohnen, können kommen, essen und satt werden, damit der Herr, dein Gott, dich stets segnet bei der Arbeit, die deine Hände tun.	29 And the Levite, who has no other portion or possession with you, and the sojourner as well as the orphan and the widow who are within your gates, shall approach and eat and be satisfied, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the works of your hands which you shall do.”
