1 Angenommen, jemand sündigt in einem der folgenden Fälle: er hat eine laute Verfluchung gehört, ist Zeuge, da er es gesehen oder darum gewusst hat, aber er zeigt es nicht an und lädt damit Schuld auf sich;	1 "If any person refuses to give the information which, as a witness of something he has seen or learned, he has been adjured to give, and thus commits a sin and has guilt to bear;
2 oder jemand berührt eine unreine Sache, das Aas eines unreinen wilden Tieres oder eines unreinen Haustiers oder eines unreinen Kriechtiers und es blieb ihm verborgen, aber er merkt es dann und wird unrein und schuldig;	2 or if someone, without being aware of it, touches any unclean thing, as the carcass of an unclean wild animal, or that of an unclean domestic animal, or that of an unclean swarming creature, and thus becomes unclean and guilty;
3 oder er berührt etwas Unreines von einem Menschen, dessen Berührung unrein macht, und bemerkt es nicht, aber er erfährt es später und wird schuldig;	3 or if someone, without being aware of it, touches some human uncleanness, whatever kind of uncleanness this may be, and then recognizes his guilt;
4 oder jemand schwört unbesonnen, ob zum Schaden oder zum Nutzen, wie eben der Mensch bisweilen unbesonnen schwört, aber er merkt es gar nicht, doch dann erfährt er es und wird schuldig durch so etwas -	4 or if someone, without being aware of it, rashly utters an oath to do good or evil, such as men are accustomed to utter rashly, and then recognizes that he is guilty of such an oath;
5 wenn also jemand in einem dieser Fälle schuldig wird, so soll er gestehen, wodurch er sich verfehlt hat.	5 then whoever is guilty in any of these cases shall confess the sin he has incurred,
6 Als Schuldopfer für seine begangene Verfehlung soll er dann ein weibliches Stück Kleinvieh, ein Schaf oder eine Ziege, vor den Herrn als Sündopfer bringen und der Priester soll ihn entsühnen und so von seiner Verfehlung lösen.	6 and as his sin offering for the sin he has committed he shall bring to the LORD a female animal from the flock, a ewe lamb or a she-goat. The priest shall then make atonement for his sin.
7 Wenn seine Mittel für ein Schaf nicht ausreichen, soll er als Schuldopfer für seine Verfehlung zwei Turteltauben oder zwei junge Tauben vor den Herrn bringen, die eine als Sünd- und die andere als Brandopfer.	7 "If, however, he cannot afford an animal of the flock, he shall bring to the LORD as the sin offering for his sin two turtledoves or two pigeons, one for a sin offering and the other for a holocaust.
8 Er soll sie zum Priester bringen und dieser soll zuerst die eine für das Sündopfer darbringen. Er soll ihren Kopf vom Genick trennen, aber nicht ganz abreißen;	8 He shall bring them to the priest, who shall offer the one for the sin offering first. Snapping its head loose at the neck, yet without breaking it off completely,
9 er soll etwas vom Blut des Sündopfers gegen die Altarwand spritzen und das übrige Blut am Sockel des Altars auspressen. Ein Sündopfer ist das.	9 he shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering against the side of the altar. The rest of the blood shall be squeezed out against the base of the altar. Such is the offering for sin.
10 Die zweite Taube soll er, wie vorgeschrieben, als Brandopfer darbringen. Der Priester soll ihn entsühnen und von der Sünde, die er begangen hat, lösen; dann wird ihm vergeben werden.	10 The other bird shall be offered as a holocaust in the usual way. Thus the priest shall make atonement for the sin the man committed, and it will be forgiven.
11 Falls seine Mittel für zwei Turteltauben oder zwei junge Tauben nicht ausreichen, soll er als Opfergabe für seine Verfehlung ein Zehntel Efa Feinmehl darbringen, aber weder Öl noch Weihrauch darauftun, denn es ist ein Sündopfer.	11 "If he is unable to afford even two turtledoves or two pigeons, he shall present as a sin offering for his sin one tenth of an ephah of fine flour. He shall not put oil or frankincense on it, because it is a sin offering.
12 Er bringe es dem Priester, der davon eine Hand voll nimmt und als Gedächtnisanteil auf dem Altar mit den Feueropfern des Herrn in Rauch aufgehen lässt. Ein Sündopfer ist das.	12 When he has brought it to the priest, the latter shall take a handful of this flour as a token offering, and this he shall burn as a sin offering on the altar with the other oblations of the LORD.
13 Der Priester soll ihn so für die von ihm in einem dieser Fälle begangene Verfehlung entsühnen und es wird ihm vergeben werden. Dem Priester gehört das Gleiche wie beim Speiseopfer.	13 Thus the priest shall make atonement for the sin that the man committed in any of the above cases, and it will be forgiven. The rest of the flour, like the cereal offerings, shall belong to the priest."
14 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:	14 The LORD said to Moses,
15 Wenn jemand sich verfehlt und sich ohne Vorsatz an Dingen vergeht, die dem Herrn heilig sind, soll er als Schuldopfer für den Herrn von seiner Herde einen fehlerlosen Widder bringen, der in Silberschekel nach dem Schekelgewicht des Heiligtums zu schätzen ist.	15 "If someone commits a sin by inadvertently cheating in the LORD'S sacred dues, he shall bring to the LORD as his guilt offering an unblemished ram from the flock, valued at two silver shekels according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel.
16 Wenn er sich am Heiligen verfehlt hat, soll er Ersatz leisten und noch ein Fünftel des Wertes hinzufügen. Er soll es dem Priester geben und dieser soll ihn mit dem Schuldopferwidder entsühnen; dann wird ihm vergeben werden.	16 He shall also restore what he has sinfully withheld from the sanctuary, adding to it a fifth of its value. This is to be given to the priest, who shall then make atonement for him with the guilt-offering ram, and he will be forgiven.
17 Wenn jemand sich verfehlt und etwas tut, was der Herr verboten hat, es nicht bemerkt, aber dann schuldig wird, soll er die Folgen seiner Schuld tragen.	17 "If someone, without being aware of it, commits such a sin by doing one of the things which are forbidden by some commandment of the LORD, that he incurs guilt for which he must answer,
18 Er soll als Schuldopfer einen fehlerlosen Widder von seiner Herde nach dem üblichen Schätzwert zum Priester bringen und dieser soll ihn für seine unabsichtliche Verfehlung, die er ohne Vorsatz begangen hat, entsühnen; dann wird ihm vergeben werden.	18 he shall bring as a guilt offering to the priest an unblemished ram of the flock of the established value. The priest shall then make atonement for the fault which was unwittingly committed, and it will be forgiven.
19 Ein Schuldopfer ist das; der Betreffende hat sich tatsächlich vor dem Herrn schuldig gemacht.	19 Such is the offering for guilt; the penalty of the guilt must be paid to the LORD."
20 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:	20 The LORD said to Moses,
21 Wenn jemand sündigt und eine Veruntreuung gegen den Herrn begeht, indem er einen aus seinem Volk über anvertrautes oder hinterlegtes oder geraubtes Gut täuscht oder ihn übervorteilt	21 "If someone commits a sin of dishonesty against the LORD by denying his neighbor a deposit or a pledge for a stolen article, or by otherwise retaining his neighbor's goods unjustly,
22 oder verlorenes Gut findet und es leugnet oder einen Meineid leistet hinsichtlich irgendeiner Sünde, die ein Mensch begehen kann,	22 or if, having found a lost article, he denies the fact and swears falsely about it with any of the sinful oaths that men make in such cases,
23 wenn er also auf solche Weise sündigt und schuldig wird, muss er das, was er geraubt oder durch Übervorteilung gewonnen hat oder was ihm anvertraut wurde, oder das Verlorene, das er gefunden hat, zurückgeben	23 he shall therefore, since he has incurred guilt by his sin, restore the thing that was stolen or unjustly retained by him or the deposit left with him or the lost article he found
24 oder er muss den Schaden, den er durch den Meineid angerichtet hat, wieder gutmachen; am Tag seines Schuldopfers erstatte er dem Geschädigten den um ein Fünftel vermehrten Wert.	24 or whatever else he swore falsely about; on the day of his guilt offering he shall make full restitution of the thing itself, and in addition, give the owner one fifth of its value.
25 Er soll einen fehlerlosen Widder von seiner Herde nach dem üblichen Schätzwert als sein Schuldopfer vor den Herrn zum Priester bringen	25 As his guilt offering he shall bring to the LORD an unblemished ram of the flock of the established value. When he has presented this as his guilt offering to the priest,
26 und dieser soll ihn vor dem Herrn entsühnen; dann wird ihm jede Tat vergeben werden, durch die er sich schuldig gemacht hat.	26 the latter shall make atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be forgiven whatever guilt he may have incurred."
