Genesis 22

1 Nach diesen Ereignissen stellte Gott Abraham auf die Probe. Er sprach zu ihm: Abraham! Er antwortete: Hier bin ich.	1 After these things God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I."
2 Gott sprach: Nimm deinen Sohn, deinen einzigen, den du liebst, Isaak, geh in das Land Morija und bring ihn dort auf einem der Berge, den ich dir nenne, als Brandopfer dar.	2 He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."
3 Frühmorgens stand Abraham auf, sattelte seinen Esel, holte seine beiden Jungknechte und seinen Sohn Isaak, spaltete Holz zum Opfer und machte sich auf den Weg zu dem Ort, den ihm Gott genannt hatte.	3 So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac; and he cut the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.
4 Als Abraham am dritten Tag aufblickte, sah er den Ort von weitem.	4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off.
5 Da sagte Abraham zu seinen Jungknechten: Bleibt mit dem Esel hier! Ich will mit dem Knaben hingehen und anbeten; dann kommen wir zu euch zurück.	5 Then Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the ass; I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you."
6 Abraham nahm das Holz für das Brandopfer und lud es seinem Sohn Isaak auf. Er selbst nahm das Feuer und das Messer in die Hand. So gingen beide miteinander.	6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together.
7 Nach einer Weile sagte Isaak zu seinem Vater Abraham: Vater! Er antwortete: Ja, mein Sohn! Dann sagte Isaak: Hier ist Feuer und Holz. Wo aber ist das Lamm für das Brandopfer?	7 And Isaac said to his father Abraham, "My father!" And he said, "Here am I, my son." He said, "Behold, the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?"
8 Abraham entgegnete: Gott wird sich das Opferlamm aussuchen, mein Sohn. Und beide gingen miteinander weiter.	8 Abraham said, "God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." So they went both of them together.
9 Als sie an den Ort kamen, den ihm Gott genannt hatte, baute Abraham den Altar, schichtete das Holz auf, fesselte seinen Sohn Isaak und legte ihn auf den Altar, oben auf das Holz.	9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.
10 Schon streckte Abraham seine Hand aus und nahm das Messer, um seinen Sohn zu schlachten.	10 Then Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11 Da rief ihm der Engel des Herrn vom Himmel her zu: Abraham, Abraham! Er antwortete: Hier bin ich.	11 But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven, and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I."
12 Jener sprach: Streck deine Hand nicht gegen den Knaben aus und tu ihm nichts zuleide! Denn jetzt weiß ich, dass du Gott fürchtest; du hast mir deinen einzigen Sohn nicht vorenthalten.	12 He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me."
13 Als Abraham aufschaute, sah er: Ein Widder hatte sich hinter ihm mit seinen Hörnern im Gestrüpp verfangen. Abraham ging hin, nahm den Widder und brachte ihn statt seines Sohnes als Brandopfer dar.	13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.
14 Abraham nannte jenen Ort Jahwe-Jire (Der Herr sieht), wie man noch heute sagt: Auf dem Berg lässt sich der Herr sehen.	14 So Abraham called the name of that place The LORD will provide; as it is said to this day, "On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided."
15 Der Engel des Herrn rief Abraham zum zweiten Mal vom Himmel her zu	15 And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven,
16 und sprach: Ich habe bei mir geschworen - Spruch des Herrn: Weil du das getan hast und deinen einzigen Sohn mir nicht vorenthalten hast,	16 and said, "By myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son,
17 will ich dir Segen schenken in Fülle und deine Nachkommen zahlreich machen wie die Sterne am Himmel und den Sand am Meeresstrand. Deine Nachkommen sollen das Tor ihrer Feinde einnehmen.	17 I will indeed bless you, and I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore. And your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies,
18 Segnen sollen sich mit deinen Nachkommen alle Völker der Erde, weil du auf meine Stimme gehört hast.	18 and by your descendants shall all the nations of the earth bless themselves, because you have obeyed my voice."
19 Darauf kehrte Abraham zu seinen Jungknechten zurück. Sie machten sich auf und gingen miteinander nach Beerscheba. Abraham blieb in Beerscheba wohnen.	19 So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beer-sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.
20 Nach diesen Ereignissen meldete man Abraham: Auch Milka hat deinem Bruder Nahor Söhne geboren:	20 Now after these things it was told Abraham, "Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor:
21 Uz, seinen Erstgeborenen, dessen Bruder Bus sowie Kemuël, den Stammvater der Aramäer,	21 Uz the first-born, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,
22 ferner Kesed, Haso, Pildasch, Jidlaf und Betuël.	22 Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel."
23 Betuël zeugte Rebekka. Diese acht gebar Milka dem Nahor, dem Bruder Abrahams. Er hatte noch eine Nebenfrau namens Rëuma.	23 Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
24 Auch sie bekam Kinder, nämlich Tebach, Gaham, Tahasch und Maacha.	24 Moreover, his concubine, whose name was Reumah, bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
