Deuteronomy 14

DOUAI-RHEIMS	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Be ye children of the Lord your God: you shall not cut yourselves, no, make any baldness for the dead;	1 Voi siete figli per il Signore vostro Dio. Non vi farete incisioni, né vi raderete tra gli occhi per un morto.
2 Because thou art a holy people to the Lord thy God: and he chose thee to be his peculiar people of all nations that are upon the earth.	2 Perché tu sei un popolo santo per il Signore tuo Dio, il quale ti ha scelto fra tutti i popoli che sono sulla faccia della terra, affinché sia un popolo particolarmente suo.
3 Eat not the things that are unclean.	3 Non mangerete nessuna abominazione.
4 These are the beasts that you shall eat, the ox, and the sheep, and the goat,	4 Questi sono gli animali che mangerete: bue, pecora, capra,
5 The hart and the roe, the buffle, the chamois, the pygarg, the wild goat, the camelopardalus.	5 cervo, gazzella, daino, stambecco, antilope, bufalo, camoscio;
6 Every beast that divideth the hoof in two parts, and cheweth the cud, you shall eat.	6 mangerete ogni animale che ha lo zoccolo spaccato e diviso in due unghie, e che rumina.
7 But of them that chew the cud, but divide not the hoof, you shall not eat, such as the camel, the hare, and the cherogril: because they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof, they shall be unclean to you.	7 Ma fra i ruminanti e tra quelli che hanno lo zoccolo spaccato e diviso, non mangerete il cammello, la lepre e l'irace, perché ruminano ma non hanno lo zoccolo spaccato. Per voi essi sono animali impuri.
8 The swine also, because it divideth the hoof, but cheweth not the cud, shall be unclean, their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.	8 Anche il porco che, sebbene abbia lo zoccolo spaccato, non rumina, per voi è impuro. Non mangerete le loro carni e non toccherete i loro cadaveri.
9 These shall you eat of all that abide in the waters: All that have fins and scales, you shall eat.	9 Tra tutti gli esseri che sono nell'acqua, mangerete di tutti quelli che hanno pinne e squame;
10 Such as are without fins and scales, you shall not eat, because they are unclean.	10 ma non mangerete nessuno di quelli che non hanno pinne né squame. Per voi essi sono impuri.
11 All birds that are clean you shall eat.	11 Mangerete di ogni specie di uccelli puri,
12 The unclean eat not: to wit, the eagle, and the grype, and the osprey,	12 ma non mangerete di queste specie: l'aquila, l'ossifraga, la strige,
13 The ringtail, and the vulture, and the kite according to their kind:	13 il nibbio e ogni specie di astori;
14 And all of the raven's kind:	14 ogni specie di corvi;
15 And the ostrich, and the owl, and the larus, and the hawk according to its kind:	15 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano, tutti gli sparvieri,
16 The heron, and the swan, and the stork,	16 il gufo, l'ibis, il cigno,
17 And the cormorant, the porphirion, and the night crow,	17 il pellicano, il martin pescatore, la folaga,
18 The bittern, and the charadrion, every one in their kind: the hoop also and the bat.	18 la cicogna, le varie specie di aironi, l'upupa, il pipistrello.
19 Every thing that creepeth, and hath little wings, shall be unclean, and shall not be eaten.	19 Considererete immondi gli insetti alati: non ne mangerete.
20 All that is clean, you shall eat.	20 Mangerete ogni volatile puro.
21 But whatsoever is dead of itself, eat not thereof. Give it to the stranger, that is within thy gates, to eat, or sell it to him: because thou art the holy people of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in the milk of his dam.	21 Non mangerete di alcun animale che sia morto di morte naturale: lo darai al forestiero che è tra le tue porte ed egli lo mangerà, o lo venderai a uno straniero, perché tu sei un popolo santo per il Signore tuo Dio. Non farai cuocere un capretto nel latte di sua madre.
22 Every year thou shalt set aside the tithes of all thy fruits that the earth bringeth forth,	22 Prenderai la decima di ogni prodotto della tua semente che cresce nei campi, ogni anno,
23 And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose, that his name may be called upon therein, the tithe of thy corn, and thy wine, and thy oil, and the firstborn of thy herds and thy sheep: that thou mayst learn to fear the Lord thy God at all times.	23 e la mangerai al cospetto del Signore tuo Dio nel luogo nel quale sceglierà di far dimorare il suo nome: la decima del tuo frumento, del tuo mosto, del tuo olio, i primogeniti del tuo bestiame grosso e minuto, affinché tu impari a temere il Signore tuo Dio ogni giorno.
24 But when the way and the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, are far off, and he hath blessed thee, and thou canst not carry all these things thither,	24 Se troppo lungo è per te il cammino e tu non puoi trasportare la decima, perché è troppo distante da te il luogo dove il Signore tuo Dio ha scelto di porre il suo nome, perché il Signore tuo Dio ti avrà benedetto,
25 Thou shalt sell them all, and turn them into money, and shalt carry it in thy hand, and shalt go to the place which the Lord shall choose :	25 la cambierai in denaro, stringerai il denaro nella mano e andrai al luogo scelto dal Signore tuo Dio
26 And thou shalt buy with the same money whatsoever pleaseth thee, either of the herds or of sheep, wine also and strong drink, and all that thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, and shalt feast, thou and thy house:	26 e là cambierai il denaro in tutto ciò che tu desideri: in bestiame grosso o minuto, in vino, in bevanda inebriante e in quanto richiede la tua gola, lo mangerai là al cospetto del Signore tuo Dio e ti rallegrerai tu e la tua casa.
27 And the Levite that is within thy gates, beware thou forsake him not, because he hath no other part in thy possession.	27 Il levita che è fra le tue porte non lo trascurare, perché non ha né parte né eredità con te.
28 The third year thou shalt separate another tithe of all things that grow to thee at that time, and shalt lay it up within thy gates.	28 Al termine di tre anni porterai ogni decima dei tuoi prodotti e la deporrai alle porte della tua città:
29 And the Levite that hath no other part nor possession with thee, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come and shall eat and be filled: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the works of thy hands that thou shalt do.	29 verranno il levita, che non ha né parte né eredità con te, il forestiero, l'orfano e la vedova che si trovano entro le tue porte, ne mangeranno e si sazieranno. Perché il Signore tuo Dio ti benedica in ogni opera delle tue mani, che tu farai.
