| 1 Colui che teme Iddio farà bene; e colui che contiene la giustizia, prenderae quella. | 1 The man who fears the Lord will do this, and he who holds to the law will obtain wisdom. |
| 2 Ed ella li si farà incontro sì come madre onorificata, e sì come femina della virginitade riceverae lui. | 2 She will come to meet him like a mother, and like the wife of his youth she will welcome him. |
| 3 Ciberallo di pane di vita e d'intelletto, e daralli bere acqua di sapienza salutevole; e fermerassi in lui, e non si piegherae. | 3 She will feed him with the bread of understanding, and give him the water of wisdom to drink. |
| 4 E contenerà lui, e non sarà confusa; ed esalterallo appresso lo prossimo suo. | 4 He will lean on her and will not fall, and he will rely on her and will not be put to shame. |
| 5 E aprirà la bocca sua in mezzo della chiesa, e (lo Signore) sì lo empierae di spirito di sapienza e di intelletto, e vestirallo di stola di gloria. | 5 She will exalt him above his neighbors, and will open his mouth in the midst of the assembly. |
| 6 Tesaurizzarae sopra lui in gioconditade ed esultazione, e farallo erede dello eterno nome. | 6 He will find gladness and a crown of rejoicing, and will acquire an everlasting name. |
| 7 Gli uomini stolti non prenderanno quella, e li uomini savi li si faranno incontro; li pazzi non la vederanno; ella è di lungi da superbia e da inganno. | 7 Foolish men will not obtain her, and sinful men will not see her. |
| 8 E li bugiardi non si ricorderanno di lei; e gli uomini veritieri si trovaranno in quella, e averanno il loro vedere infino ( ch' egli verranno, infino) alla veduta di Dio. | 8 She is far from men of pride, and liars will never think of her. |
| 9 Non è larga la loda nella bocca del peccatore. | 9 A hymn of praise is not fitting on the lips of a sinner, for it has not been sent from the Lord. |
| 10 Però che (egli non è mandato da Dio) la sapienza è venuta da Dio; alla sapienza di Dio sarà presente la laude, e nella bocca dell' uomo fedele abbonderae, e lo Signore la darae a colui. | 10 For a hymn of praise should be uttered in wisdom, and the Lord will prosper it. |
| 11 Non dirai: per Dio ella è assente da me; quelle cose ch' egli odia, non farai. | 11 Do not say, "Because of the Lord I left the right way"; for he will not do what he hates. |
| 12 Non dire: colui mi schernisce; però che a Dio non sono necessarii gli uomini rei. | 12 Do not say, "It was he who led me astray"; for he had no need of a sinful man. |
| 13 Iddio odia ogni maledizione d' errore; e non sarà amabile l'errore a coloro che temono Iddio. | 13 The Lord hates all abominations, and they are not loved by those who fear him. |
| 14 Iddio dal cominciamento fece l'uomo, e lasciollo nelle mani del suo consiglio. | 14 It was he who created man in the beginning, and he left him in the power of his own inclination. |
| 15 E aggiunsevi i suoi comandamenti e la legge. | 15 If you will, you can keep the commandments, and to act faithfully is a matter of your own choice. |
| 16 Se tu vorrai conservare li comandamenti, elli conserveranno te; e sempre osserverà la piaciuta tua fede. | 16 He has placed before you fire and water: stretch out your hand for whichever you wish. |
| 17 Miseti inanzi fuoco e acqua; a quale tu vuoli, porgi la mano. | 17 Before a man are life and death, and whichever he chooses will be given to him. |
| 18 Dinanzi dall' uomo si è la vita e la morte, il bene e il male; quello che li piacerae, li darae. | 18 For great is the wisdom of the Lord; he is mighty in power and sees everything; |
| 19 Per ciò che molta è la sapienza di Dio; è forte nella potenza, vedendo tutti sanza intervallo di luogo o di tempo. | 19 his eyes are on those who fear him, and he knows every deed of man. |
| 20 Li occhi di Dio sono vòlti a colui che il teme; elli conosce ogni opera dell' uomo. | 20 He has not commanded any one to be ungodly, and he has not given any one permission to sin. |
| 21 A niuno comandoe di fare male, e a niuno diede luogo di peccare. | |
| 22 Egli non desidera moltitudine d' infedeli figliuoli e disutili. | |
