1 Eis a descendência de Esaú, também chamado Edom.	1 These are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom).
2 Esaú tomou suas mulheres entre as filhas de Canaã: Ada, filha de Elon, o hiteu; Oolibama, filha de Ana, filha de Sebeon, o heveu;	2 Esau took his wives from among the Canaanite women: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon the Hivite;
3 e Basemat, filha de Ismael, irmã de Nabaiot.	3 and Basemath, daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.

5 Tais são os filhos nascidos a Esaú na terra de Canaã.	5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Esaú tomou suas mulheres, seus filhos e suas filhas, assim como todo o seu pessoal, seus rebanhos, seus animais e todos os bens que tinha adquirido na terra de Canaã, e mudou-se para longe de seu irmão Jacó.	6 Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock comprising various animals and all the property he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to the land of Seir, out of the way of his brother Jacob.
7 Seus bens eram, com efeito, numerosos demais para que pudessem morar juntos, e a terra em que habitavam não lhes bastava, por causa dos seus muitos rebanhos.	7 Their possessions had become too great for them to dwell together, and the land in which they were staying could not support them because of their livestock.
8 Esaú estabeleceu-se na montanha de Seir. Esaú chamava-se também Edom.	8 So Esau settled in the highlands of Seir. (Esau is Edom.)
9 Eis a descendência de Esaú, pai de Edom, na montanha de Seir.	9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites, in the highlands of Seir.
10 Estes são os nomes dos filhos de Esaú: Elifaz, filho de Ada, mulher de Esaú; Rauel, filho de Basemat, mulher de Esaú.	10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, son of Esau's wife Adah; and Reuel, son of Esau's wife Basemath.
11 Os filhos de Elifaz foram: Temã, Omar, Sefo, Gatão e Cenez.	11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Elifaz, filho de Esaú, tomou uma concubina, Tamna que lhe deu à luz Amalec. Estes são os filhos de Ada, mulher de Esaú.	12 (Esau's son Eliphaz had a concubine Timna, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the descendants of Esau's wife Adah.
13 Eis os filhos de Rauel: Naat, Zara, Sama e Meza. São estes os filhos de Basemat, mulher de Esaú.	13 The sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the descendants of Esau's wife Basemath.
14 Eis os filhos de Oolibama, filha de Ana, filha de Sebeon, mulher de Esaú: ela deu à luz Esaú, Jeus, Ielon e Coré.	14 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah--granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon--whom she bore to Esau were Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

16 o chefe Gatão, o chefe Amalec. Estes são os chefes saídos de Elifaz, na terra de Edom; tais são os filhos de Ada.	16 Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These are the clans of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; they are descended from Adah.

Tais são os chefes saídos de Rauel, na terra de Edom; estes são os filhos de Basemat, mulher de Esaú.	17 The descendants of Esau's son Reuel: the clans of Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the clans of Reuel in the land of Edom; they are descended from Esau's wife Basemath.

22 Os filhos de Lotã foram Hori e Hemã; a irmã de Lotã era Tama.	22 Lotan's descendants were Hori and Hemam, and Lotan's sister was Timna.
23 Eis os filhos de Sobal: Alvã, Manaat, Ebal, Sefo e Onão.	23 Shobal's descendants were Alvan, Mahanath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 Eis os filhos de Sebeon: Aja e Ana. Foi este Ana que encontrou no deserto as fontes de águas quentes, quando pastoreava os jumentos de Sebeon, seu pai.	24 Zibeon's descendants were Aiah and Anah. (He is the Anah who found water in the desert while he was pasturing the asses of his father Zibeon.)

34 Morto Jobab, Husão, da terra dos temanitas, reinou em seu lugar.	34 When Jobab died, Husham, from the land of the Temanites, succeeded him as king. He defeated the Midianites in the country of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.

(His wife's name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab.)
40 Eis os nomes dos chefes saídos de Esaú, segundo suas tribos, seus territórios e seus nomes: o chefe Tama, o chefe Alva, o chefe Jetet,	40 The following are the names of the clans of Esau individually according to their subdivisions and localities: the clans of Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
41 o chefe Oolibama, o chefe Ela, o chefe Finon,	41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,
42 o chefe Cenez, o chefe Temã, o chefe Mabsar,	42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,
