The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
“Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them: When you will have entered into the land of your habitation, which I will give you,2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have arrived in the country where you are to live andwhich I am giving to you,
and you make an offering to the Lord, as a holocaust or as a victim, paying your vows, or as a voluntary offering of gifts, or in your solemnities, burning a sweet odor to the Lord, whether from the oxen or from the sheep:3 and you burn food as an offering to Yahweh either as a burnt offering or as a sacrifice, whether inpayment of a vow, or as a voluntary gift, or on the occasion of one of your solemn feasts, from your herds andflocks as a smel pleasing to Yahweh:
whoever immolates the victim shall offer a sacrifice of fine wheat flour, the tenth part of an ephah, sprinkled with oil, which shall have the measure of the fourth part of a hin,4 the offerer wil , as his personal gift to Yahweh, bring a cereal offering of one-tenth of an ephah of fineflour mixed with one-quarter of a hin of oil.
and he shall give the same measure of wine, poured out as libations, whether as a holocaust or as a victim.5 You will also make a libation of wine, one-quarter of a hin to each lamb, in addition to the burntoffering or sacrifice.
With each lamb and each ram, there shall be a sacrifice of fine wheat flour, of two tenths, which shall be sprinkled with one third part of a hin of oil.6 For a ram, you will make a cereal offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-thirdof a hin of oil,
And he shall offer the same measure, one third part of wine, for the libation, as a sweet odor to the Lord.7 and a libation of one-third of a hin of wine as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.
Yet truly, when you will offer, from the oxen, a holocaust or a victim, in order to fulfill your vow or for peace-offering victims,8 If you offer a bul as a burnt offering or sacrifice, in payment of a vow or as a communion sacrifice forYahweh,
you shall give, for each ox, three tenths of fine wheat flour, sprinkled with oil, which has the measure of one half of one hin,9 in addition to the animal you wil offer a cereal offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixedwith half a hin of oil,
and the wine, poured out as libations, shall be of the same measure, as an oblation of most sweet odor to the Lord.10 and you wil offer a libation of half a hin of wine, as food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.
So shall you do11 This wil be done for every bul , every ram, every lamb or kid.
for each ox, and ram, and lamb, and young goat.12 Whatever the number of victims you intend to offer, you wil do the same for each of them, howevermany there are.
Both natives and sojourners13 "Every citizen of the country wil act in this way whenever he offers food burnt as a smel pleasing toYahweh;
shall offer sacrifices by the same rituals.14 and if an alien residing with you or with your descendants intends to offer food burnt as a smelpleasing to Yahweh, he wil do as you do.
There shall be one precept and one judgment, as much for yourselves as for newcomers to the land.”15 There wil be one law for you, members of the community, and the resident alien alike, a law bindingyour descendants for ever: before Yahweh you and the resident alien are no different.'
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:16 One law, one statute, wil apply for you and the resident alien." '
“Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them:17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
When you will arrive in the land which I will give to you,18 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have entered the country to which I am bringing you,
and when you will eat from the bread of that region, you shall separate the first-fruits to the Lord19 you wil set a portion aside for Yahweh when you eat that country's bread.
from the foods that you eat. Just as you separate the first-fruits of your threshing floors,20 You wil set one cake aside as the first-fruits of your dough; you will set this offering aside like theone set aside from your threshing.
so also shall you give the first-fruits of your cooked grains to the Lord.21 For al future generations you will set a portion of your dough aside for Yahweh.
And if, through ignorance, you neglect any of these things, which the Lord has spoken to Moses,22 "If through inadvertence you fail in any of these orders which Yahweh has given to Moses
and which he has commanded through him for you, from the day that he began to command and thereafter,23 (whatever orders Yahweh has given you or your descendants through Moses, from the day whenYahweh gave his orders),
and if the multitude will have forgotten to do it, then they shall offer a calf from the herd, a holocaust as a most sweet odor to the Lord, and its sacrifice and libations, just as the ceremonies ask, and a he-goat for sin.24 this is what must be done: "If it is an inadvertence on the part of the community, the community as awhole wil offer a young bull as a burnt offering, as a smell pleasing to Yahweh, with the prescribedaccompanying cereal offering and libation, and a he-goat as a sacrifice for sin.
And the priest shall pray for the entire multitude of the sons of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them, because they did not sin willfully. Nevertheless, they shall offer incense to the Lord for themselves, and for sin, as well as for their error.25 The priest wil perform the rite of expiation for the entire community of Israelites, and they wil beforgiven, since it was an inadvertence. Once they have brought their offering as food burnt for Yahweh, and havepresented their sacrifice for sin before Yahweh to make amends for their inadvertence,
And it shall be forgiven all the people of the sons of Israel, as well as the newcomers who sojourn among them, for it is the culpability of all the people through neglect.26 the whole community of Israelites wil be forgiven, as also the alien residing with them, since theentire people acted by inadvertence.
But if one soul will have sinned by not knowing, he shall offer a one-year-old she-goat for his sin.27 "If it is an individual who has sinned by inadvertence, he wil offer a yearling kid as a sacrifice for sin.
And the priest shall pray for him, because he sinned unknowingly before the Lord. And he shall obtain pardon for him, and it will be forgiven him.28 The priest wil perform the rite of expiation before Yahweh for the person who has gone astray owingto this sin of inadvertence and, expiation having been made for him, he will be forgiven;
One law shall be for all who sin by ignorance, as much for natives as for newcomers.29 whether he is an Israelite citizen or a resident alien, you wil have one law for anyone who sins byinadvertence.
Yet truly, the soul who commits any of these acts through arrogance, whether he is a citizen or a sojourner, because he has rebelled against the Lord, shall perish from among his people.30 "But the individual who acts deliberately, be he citizen or alien, commits an outrage against Yahweh, and such a man wil be outlawed from his people.
For he has despised the word of the Lord, and he has nullified his precept. For this reason, he shall be destroyed, and he shall bear his iniquity.”31 Since he has treated Yahweh's word with contempt and has disobeyed his order, such a man wil beoutlawed absolutely and wil bear the consequences of his guilt." '
And it happened that, when the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, and they had found a man collecting wood on the day of the Sabbath,32 While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was caught gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
they brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to the whole multitude.33 Those who caught him gathering wood brought him before Moses, Aaron and the whole community.
And they enclosed him in a prison, not knowing what they should do with him.34 He was kept in custody, because the penalty he should undergo had not yet been fixed.
And the Lord said to Moses, “Let that man be put to death; let the entire crowd crush him with stones, outside the camp.”35 Yahweh said to Moses, 'This man must be put to death. The whole community will stone him outsidethe camp.'
And when they had led him out, they overwhelmed him with stones, and he died, just as the Lord had instructed.36 The whole community took him outside the camp and stoned him til he was dead, as Yahweh hadordered Moses.
The Lord also said to Moses:37 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
“Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall tell them to make for themselves hems at the corners of their cloaks, placing in them ribbons of hyacinth,38 'Speak to the Israelites and tell them, for all generations to come, to put tassels on the hems of theirclothes and work a violet thread into the tassel at the hem.
so that, when they see these, they may remember all the commandments of the Lord, and they may not follow their own thoughts and eyes, fornicating in various ways,39 You wil thus have a tassel, and the sight of it wil remind you of al Yahweh's orders and how youare to put them into practice, and not follow the dictates of your own heart and eyes, which have led you to beunfaithful.
but instead, they, being more mindful of the precepts of the Lord, may do them and may be holy to their God.40 'This wil remind you of all my orders; put them into practice, and you wil be consecrated to yourGod.
I am the Lord your God, who led you away from the land of Egypt, so that I may be your God.”41 I, Yahweh your God, have brought you out of Egypt, to be your God, I, Yahweh your God.'
