Psalmen 82

1 [Ein Psalm Asafs.] Gott steht auf in der Versammlung der Götter, im Kreis der Götter hält er Gericht.	1 A Psalm of Asaph. God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:
2 «Wie lange noch wollt ihr ungerecht richten und die Frevler begünstigen? [Sela]	2 "How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? [Selah]
3 Verschafft Recht den Unterdrückten und Waisen, verhelft den Gebeugten und Bedürftigen zum Recht!	3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
4 Befreit die Geringen und Armen, entreißt sie der Hand der Frevler!»	4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."
5 Sie aber haben weder Einsicht noch Verstand, sie tappen dahin im Finstern. Alle Grundfesten der Erde wanken.	5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6 «Wohl habe ich gesagt: Ihr seid Götter, ihr alle seid Söhne des Höchsten.	6 I say, "You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;
7 Doch nun sollt ihr sterben wie Menschen, sollt stürzen wie jeder der Fürsten.»	7 nevertheless, you shall die like men, and fall like any prince."
8 Erheb dich, Gott, und richte die Erde! Denn alle Völker werden dein Erbteil sein.	8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for to thee belong all the nations!
