2 Hear, O God, my prayer, and despise not my supplication:	2 Porgi l’orecchio, Dio, alla mia preghiera,non nasconderti di fronte alla mia supplica.
	3 Dammi ascolto e rispondimi;mi agito ansioso e sono sconvolto
4 the same are darts.	4 dalle grida del nemico, dall’oppressione del malvagio.Mi rovesciano addosso cattiveriae con ira mi aggrediscono.
5 be attentive to me and hear me. I am grieved in my exercise; and am troubled,	5 Dentro di me si stringe il mio cuore,piombano su di me terrori di morte.
6 at the voice of the enemy, and at the tribulation of the sinner. For they have cast iniquities upon me: and in wrath they were troublesome to me.	6 Mi invadono timore e tremoree mi ricopre lo sgomento.
7 My heart is troubled within me: and the fear of death is fallen upon me.	7 Dico: «Chi mi darà ali come di colombaper volare e trovare riposo?
8 Fear and trembling are come upon me: and darkness hath covered me.	8 Ecco, errando, fuggirei lontano,abiterei nel deserto.
9 And I said: Who will give me wings like a dove, and I will fly and be at rest?	9 In fretta raggiungerei un riparodalla furia del vento, dalla bufera».
10 Lo, I have gone far off flying away; and I abode in the wilderness.	10 Disperdili, Signore, confondi le loro lingue.Ho visto nella città violenza e discordia:
11 I waited for him that hath saved me from pusillanimity of spirit, and a storm.	11 giorno e notte fanno la ronda sulle sue mura;in mezzo ad essa cattiveria e dolore,
12 Cast down, O Lord, and divide their tongues; for I have seen iniquity and contradiction in the city.	12 in mezzo ad essa insidia,e non cessano nelle sue piazze sopruso e inganno.
13 Day and night shall iniquity surround it upon its walls: and in the midst thereof are labour,	13 Se mi avesse insultato un nemico,l’avrei sopportato;se fosse insorto contro di me un avversario,da lui mi sarei nascosto.
14 and injustice. And usury and deceit have not departed from its streets.	14 Ma tu, mio compagno,mio intimo amico,
15 For if my enemy had reviled me, I would verily have borne with it. And if he that hated me had spoken great things against me, I would perhaps have hidden myself from him.	15 legato a me da dolce confidenza!Camminavamo concordi verso la casa di Dio.
16 But thou a man of one mind, my guide, and my familiar,	16 Li sorprenda improvvisa la morte,scendano vivi negli inferi,perché il male è nelle loro case e nel loro cuore.
17 Who didst take sweetmeats together with me: in the house of God we walked with consent.	17 Io invoco Dioe il Signore mi salva.
18 Let death come upon them, and let them go down alive into hell. For there is wickedness in their dwellings: in the midst of them.	18 Di sera, al mattino, a mezzogiornovivo nell’ansia e sospiro,ma egli ascolta la mia voce;
19 But I have cried to God: and the Lord will save me.	19 in pace riscatta la mia vitada quelli che mi combattono:sono tanti i miei avversari.
20 Evening and morning, and at noon I will speak and declare: and he shall hear my voice.	20 Dio ascolterà e li umilierà,egli che domina da sempre;essi non cambiano e non temono Dio.
21 He shall redeem my soul in peace from them that draw near to me: for among many they were with me.	21 Ognuno ha steso la mano contro i suoi amici,violando i suoi patti.
22 God shall hear, and the Eternal shall humble them. For there is no change with them, and they have not feared God:	22 Più untuosa del burro è la sua bocca,ma nel cuore ha la guerra;più fluide dell’olio le sue parole,ma sono pugnali sguainati.
23 he hath stretched forth his hand to repay. They have defiled his covenant,	23 Affida al Signore il tuo pesoed egli ti sosterrà,mai permetterà che il giusto vacilli.
24 they are divided by the wrath Of his countenance, and his heart hath drawn near. His words are smoother than oil, and	24 Tu, o Dio, li sprofonderai nella fossa profonda,questi uomini sanguinari e fraudolenti:essi non giungeranno alla metà dei loro giorni.Ma io, Signore, in te confido.
25 Cast thy care upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall not suffer the just to waver for ever.
