DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 VOI giusti, giubilate nel Signore; La lode è decevole agli uomini diritti.	1 Shout for joy, you upright; praise comes wel from the honest.
2 Celebrate il Signore colla cetera; Salmeggiategli col saltero e col decacordo.	2 Give thanks to Yahweh on the lyre, play for him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Cantategli un nuovo cantico, Sonate maestrevolmente con giubilo.	3 Sing to him a new song, make sweet music for your cry of victory.
4 Perciocchè la parola del Signore è diritta; E tutte le sue opere son fatte con verità.	4 The word of Yahweh is straightforward, al he does springs from his constancy.
5 Egli ama la giustizia e la dirittura; La terra è piena della benignità del Signore.	5 He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fil s the earth.
6 I cieli sono stati fatti per la parola del Signore, E tutto il loro esercito per lo soffio della sua bocca.	6 By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all their array.
7 Egli ha adunate le acque del mare come in un mucchio; Egli ha riposti gli abissi come in tesori.	7 He collects the waters of the sea like a dam, he stores away the abyss in his treasure-house.
8 Tutta la terra tema del Signore; Abbianne spavento tutti gli abitanti del mondo.	8 Let the whole earth fear Yahweh, let al who dwel in the world revere him;
9 Perciocchè egli disse la parola, e la cosa fu; Egli comandò, e la cosa surse.	9 for, the moment he spoke, it was so, no sooner had he commanded, than there it stood!
10 Il Signore dissipa il consiglio delle genti, Ed annulla i pensieri de’ popoli.	10 Yahweh thwarts the plans of nations, frustrates the counsels of peoples;
11 Il consiglio del Signore dimora in eterno; I pensieri del suo cuore dimorano per ogni età	11 but Yahweh's own plan stands firm for ever, his heart's counsel from age to age.
12 Beata la gente di cui il Signore è l’Iddio; Beato il popolo, il quale egli ha eletto per sua eredità.	12 How blessed the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen as his heritage.
13 Il Signore riguarda dal cielo, Egli vede tutti i figliuoli degli uomini.	13 From heaven Yahweh looks down, he sees al the children of Adam,
14 Egli mira, dalla stanza del suo seggio, Tutti gli abitanti della terra.	14 from the place where he sits he watches al who dwel on the earth;
15 Egli è quel che ha formato il cuor di essi tutti, Che considera tutte le loro opere.	15 he alone moulds their hearts, he understands al they do.
16 Il re non è salvato per grandezza di esercito; L’uomo prode non iscampa per grandezza di forza.	16 A large army wil not keep a king safe, nor his strength save a warrior's life;
17 Il cavallo è cosa fallace per salvare, E non può liberare colla grandezza della sua possa.	17 it is delusion to rely on a horse for safety, for all its power it cannot save.
18 Ecco, l’occhio del Signore è inverso quelli che lo temono; Inverso quelli che sperano nella sua benignità;	18 But see how Yahweh watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his faithful love,
19 Per riscuoter l’anima loro dalla morte, E per conservarli in vita in tempo di fame.	19 to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine.
20 L’anima nostra attende il Signore; Egli è il nostro aiuto, e il nostro scudo.	20 We are waiting for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield,
21 Certo, il nostro cuore si rallegrerà in lui; Perciocchè noi ci siam confidati nel Nome della sua santità.	21 for in him our heart rejoices, in his holy name we trust.
22 La tua benignità, o Signore, sia sopra noi, Siccome noi abbiamo sperato in te	22 Yahweh, let your faithful love rest on us, as our hope has rested in you.
