Ezechielis 6

VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
2 Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam ad montes Israël, et prophetabis ad eos,	2 'Son of man, turn towards the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.
3 et dices : Montes Israël, audite verbum Domini Dei. Hæc dicit Dominus Deus montibus et collibus, rupibus et vallibus : Ecce ego inducam super vos gladium, et disperdam excelsa vestra,	3 Say, "Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh. The Lord Yahweh says this to mountainsand hil s and ravines and val eys: Look, I am going to summon the sword against you and destroy your highplaces.
4 et demoliar aras vestras, et confringentur simulacra vestra, et dejiciam interfectos vestros ante idola vestra :	4 Your altars will be wrecked, and your incense burners smashed; I shal fling your butchered inhabitantsdown in front of your foul idols;
5 et dabo cadavera filiorum Israël ante faciem simulacrorum vestrorum, et dispergam ossa vestra circum aras vestras :	5 I shall lay the corpses of the Israelites in front of their foul idols and scatter their bones all round youraltars.
6 in omnibus habitationibus vestris urbes desertæ erunt, et excelsa demolientur et dissipabuntur : et interibunt aræ vestræ, et confringentur, et cessabunt idola vestra, et conterentur delubra vestra, et delebuntur opera vestra :	6 Wherever you live, the towns will be destroyed and the high places wrecked, to the ruin and wrecking ofyour altars, the shattering and abolition of your foul idols, the smashing of your incense burners and the utterdestruction of al your works.
7 et cadet interfectus in medio vestri, et scietis quia ego sum Dominus.	7 As the butchered fall about you, you wil know that I am Yahweh.
8 Et relinquam in vobis eos qui fugerint gladium in gentibus, cum dispersero vos in terris :	8 "But I shal spare some of you to escape the sword among the nations, when you have been dispersedin their lands;
9 et recordabuntur mei liberati vestri in gentibus ad quas captivi ducti sunt : quia contrivi cor eorum fornicans et recedens a me, et oculos eorum fornicantes post idola sua : et displicebunt sibimet super malis quæ fecerunt in universis abominationibus suis.	9 and your survivors wil remember me among the nations where they are held captive, since I shal havebroken their adulterous hearts for having deserted me, and destroyed their eyes for having turned adulterouslytowards their foul idols. They wil loathe themselves for al the wrong they have caused by their loathsomepractices.
10 Et scient quia ego Dominus non frustra locutus sum, ut facerem eis malum hoc.	10 Then they wil know that I am Yahweh and that I was not talking lightly when I said that I would inflictthese disasters on them."
11 Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Percute manum tuam et allide pedem tuum, et dic : Heu ! ad omnes abominationes malorum domus Israël : quia gladio, fame et peste ruituri sunt.	11 'The Lord Yahweh says this, "Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and say: Alas for al the loathsomesins of the House of Israel, which is about to fal by sword, famine and plague!
12 Qui longe est, peste morietur : qui autem prope, gladio corruet : et qui relictus fuerit et obsessus, fame morietur : et complebo indignationem meam in eis.	12 Far off, they wil die by plague; near at hand they will fal by the sword; and any who survive or arespared wil die of famine. This is how I shal sate my fury on them.
13 Et scietis quia ego Dominus, cum fuerint interfecti vestri in medio idolorum vestrorum, in circuitu ararum vestrarum, in omni colle excelso, et in cunctis summitatibus montium, et subtus omne lignum nemorosum, et subtus universam quercum frondosam, locum ubi accenderunt thura redolentia universis idolis suis.	13 Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when their butchered corpses lie among their foul idols, allround their altars, on every high hil , on every mountain top, under every green tree, under every leafy oak,wherever they offer a smel pleasing to al their idols.
14 Et extendam manum meam super eos : et faciam terram desolatam et destitutam, a deserto Deblatha, in omnibus habitationibus eorum : et scient quia ego Dominus.	14 I shal point my finger at them and reduce the country to an empty wasteland from the desert to Riblah,everywhere they live, and they wil know that I am Yahweh." '
