1 Vocavit autem Moysen, et locutus est ei Dominus de tabernaculo testimonii, dicens :	1 Yahweh summoned Moses and, speaking to him from the Tent of Meeting, said,
2 Loquere filiis Israël, et dices ad eos : Homo, qui obtulerit ex vobis hostiam Domino de pecoribus, id est, de bobus et ovibus offerens victimas,	2 'Speak to the Israelites; say to them, "When any of you brings an offering to Yahweh, he can offer ananimal either from the herd or from the flock.
3 si holocaustum fuerit ejus oblatio, ac de armento : masculum immaculatum offeret ad ostium tabernaculi testimonii, ad placandum sibi Dominum :	3 "If his offering is to be a burnt offering from the herd, he must offer an unblemished male; he wil offer itat the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, to make it acceptable to Yahweh.
4 ponetque manum super caput hostiæ, et acceptabilis erit, atque in expiationem ejus proficiens.	4 He must lay his hand on the victim's head, and it will be accepted as effectual for his expiation.
5 Immolabitque vitulum coram Domino, et offerent filii Aaron sacerdotes sanguinem ejus, fundentes per altaris circuitum, quod est ante ostium tabernaculi :	5 He wil then slaughter the bul before Yahweh, and the priests descended from Aaron wil offer theblood. They wil pour it all around the altar which stands at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
6 detractaque pelle hostiæ, artus in frusta concident.	6 He wil then skin the victim and quarter it.
7 Et subjicient in altari ignem, strue lignorum ante composita :	7 The priests descended from Aaron will put a fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.
8 et membra quæ sunt cæsa, desuper ordinantes, caput videlicet, et cuncta quæ adhærent jecori,	8 The priests descended from Aaron will then arrange the quarters, the head and the fat on the wood onthe fire on the altar.
9 intestinis et pedibus lotis aqua : adolebitque ea sacerdos super altare in holocaustum et suavem odorem Domino.	9 He wil wash the entrails and shins in water, and the priest wil burn it all on the altar as a burnt offering,food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.
10 Quod si de pecoribus oblatio est, de ovibus sive de capris holocaustum, masculum absque macula offeret :	10 "If his offering is to be of an animal from the flock, of a lamb or a goat to be offered as a burnt offering,he must offer an unblemished male.
11 immolabitque ad latus altaris, quod respicit ad aquilonem, coram Domino : sanguinem vero illius fundent super altare filii Aaron per circuitum :	11 He will slaughter it on the north side of the altar, before Yahweh, and the priests descended fromAaron will pour the blood al around the altar.
12 dividentque membra, caput, et omnia quæ adhærent jecori, et ponent super ligna, quibus subjiciendus est ignis :	12 He will then quarter it, and the priest wil arrange the quarters, the head and the fat on the wood on thefire on the altar.
13 intestina vero et pedes lavabunt aqua. Et oblata omnia adolebit sacerdos super altare in holocaustum et odorem suavissimum Domino.	13 He will wash the entrails and shins in water, and the priest wil burn it al on the altar as a burnt offering, food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.
14 Si autem de avibus, holocausti oblatio fuerit Domino, de turturibus, aut pullis columbæ,	14 "If his offering to Yahweh is to be a burnt offering of a bird, he must offer a turtledove or a youngpigeon.
15 offeret eam sacerdos ad altare : et retorto ad collum capite, ac rupto vulneris loco, decurrere faciet sanguinem super crepidinem altaris :	15 The priest wil offer it at the altar and wring off its head, which he wil burn on the altar; its blood mustthen be squeezed out on the side of the altar.
16 vesiculam vero gutturis, et plumas projiciet prope altare ad orientalem plagam, in loco in quo cineres effundi solent,	16 He will then remove the crop and the feathers and throw them on the eastern side of the altar, wherethe fatty ashes are put.
17 confringetque ascellas ejus, et non secabit, neque ferro dividet eam, et adolebit super altare, lignis igne supposito. Holocaustum est et oblatio suavissimi odoris Domino.	17 He will then split it in half with a wing on each side, but without separating the two parts. The priest wilthen burn it on the altar, on the wood which is on the fire, as a burnt offering, food burnt as a smel pleasing toYahweh." '
