| 1 - Sciagurati voi, che andate escogitando cose non buone, e nei vostri letti macchinate il male: lo mettono a esecuzione appena luccica il mattino, perchè hanno il potere in mano contro Dio. | 1 Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil upon their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand. |
| 2 Desiderarono i campi e se li tolsero colla violenza: si impossessarono delle case, e facevan soverchierie alle persone e alle case loro, agli uomini e ai loro averi». | 2 They covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away; they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance. |
| 3 Per questo così dice il Signore: «Ecco, ho divisato di mandare a questa gente il male dal quale non potrete sottrarre il vostro collo, e non andrete più tanto altieri, perchè sarà quello un tempo calamitoso. | 3 Therefore thus says the LORD: Behold, against this family I am devising evil, from which you cannot remove your necks; and you shall not walk haughtily, for it will be an evil time. |
| 4 In quel giorno prenderanno a proverbiarvi, e vi metteranno saporitamente in canzone dicendo: - Siamo stati messi a sacco e a soqquadro!la parte toccata al mio popolo ha mutato padrone; come si ritirerà da me, se sta per ritornare, colui che spartirà i nostri territori? - | 4 In that day they shall take up a taunt song against you, and wail with bitter lamentation, and say, "We are utterly ruined; he changes the portion of my people; how he removes it from me! Among our captors he divides our fields." |
| 5 Perciò non avrai più nessuno che stenda la corda sopra un lotto di terreno, nell'assemblea del Signore. | 5 Therefore you will have none to cast the line by lot in the assembly of the LORD. |
| 6 E non continuate a ripetere: - È inutile stillare oracoli contro costoro, confusione non li coglierà! | 6 "Do not preach"--thus they preach--"one should not preach of such things; disgrace will not overtake us." |
| 7 La casa di Giacobbe va dicendo: - Forse che lo spirito del Signore si è abbreviato? O siffatti sono i suoi pensieri? - Non sono forse buone le mie parole con coloro che si diportano rettamente? | 7 Should this be said, O house of Jacob? Is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him who walks uprightly? |
| 8 E invece il mio popolo fa di tutto per inimicarsi con me: voi avete tolto [agli altri] il mantello da sopra alla tunica, e quelli che transitavano tranquillamente avete costretti a difendersi colle armi. | 8 But you rise against my people as an enemy; you strip the robe from the peaceful, from those who pass by trustingly with no thought of war. |
| 9 Le donne del mio popolo avete cacciato dalle loro case dilette e ai bambini loro avete tolto la mia lode per sempre. | 9 The women of my people you drive out from their pleasant houses; from their young children you take away my glory for ever. |
| 10 Alzatevi e partite; perchè non c'è riposo in questo luogo, per voi; a causa della sua depravazione andrà dissolvendosi in pessimo disfacimento. | 10 Arise and go, for this is no place to rest; because of uncleanness that destroys with a grievous destruction. |
| 11 Oh, se non fossi io un uomo che non avessi lo spirito e spargessi piuttosto falsità! Profetizzerò a te in vino ed ebrietà, e ci sarà colui sopra il quale questo popolo sarà profetizzato! | 11 If a man should go about and utter wind and lies, saying, "I will preach to you of wine and strong drink," he would be the preacher for this people! |
| 12 Io ti radunerò tutto insieme, o Giacobbe, raccoglierò tutti insieme i resti d'Israele; lo rimetterò come il gregge nell'ovile, come l'armento entro al suo parco; si accalcheranno tumultuosamente per la gran folla di uomini. | 12 I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob, I will gather the remnant of Israel; I will set them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in its pasture, a noisy multitude of men. |
| 13 Uno si slancerà aprendo il passo innanzi ad essi; si apriranno il passo e varcheranno la porta ed entreranno per essa e il loro re scorrerà davanti ad essi, e il Signore sarà alla loro testa». | 13 He who opens the breach will go up before them; they will break through and pass the gate, going out by it. Their king will pass on before them, the LORD at their head. |
