Psalms 28

CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN	NEW JERUSALEM
1 A Psalm of David, at the completion of the tabernacle. Bring to the Lord, O sons of God, bring to the Lord the sons of rams.	1 [Of David] To you, Yahweh, I cry, my rock, do not be deaf to me! If you stay silent I shall be like thosewho sink into oblivion.
2 Bring to the Lord, glory and honor. Bring to the Lord, glory for his name. Adore the Lord in his holy court.	2 Hear the sound of my prayer when I cal upon you, when I raise my hands, Yahweh, towards your Holyof Holies.
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters. The God of majesty has thundered. The Lord is over many waters.	3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with evil-doers, who talk to their partners of peace withtreachery in their hearts.
4 The voice of the Lord is in virtue. The voice of the Lord is in magnificence.	4 Repay them as their deeds deserve, as befits their treacherous actions; as befits their handiworkrepay them, let their deserts fall back on themselves.
5 The voice of the Lord shatters the cedars. And the Lord will shatter the cedars of Lebanon.	5 They do not comprehend the deeds of Yahweh, the work of his hands. May he pul them down and notrebuild them!
6 And it will break them into pieces, like a calf of Lebanon, and in the same way as the beloved son of the single-horned beast.	6 Blessed be Yahweh for he hears the sound of my prayer.
7 The voice of the Lord cuts through the flame of fire.	7 Yahweh is my strength and my shield, in him my heart trusts. I have been helped; my body hasrecovered its vigour, with all my heart I thank him.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert. And the Lord will quake the desert of Kadesh.	8 Yahweh is the strength of his people, a safe refuge for his anointed.
9 The voice of the Lord is preparing the stags, and he will reveal the dense woods. And in his temple, all will speak his glory.	9 Save your people, bless your heritage, shepherd them and carry them for ever!
10 The Lord causes the great flood to dwell. And the Lord will sit as King in eternity.
11 The Lord will give virtue to his people. The Lord will bless his people in peace.
