NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר
2 'Son of man, turn towards Gog, to the country of Magog, towards the paramount prince of Meshechand Tubal, and prophesy against him.	2 בן אדם שים פניך אל גוג ארץ המגוג נשיא ראש משך ותבל והנבא עליו
3 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am against you, Gog, paramount prince of Meshech and Tubal.	3 ואמרת כה אמר אדני יהוה הנני אליך גוג נשיא ראש משך ותבל
4 I shal turn you about, I shall fix hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your entire army, horses andhorsemen, al perfectly equipped, a huge array armed with shields and bucklers, and al wielding swords.	4 ושובבתיך ונתתי חחים בלחייך והוצאתי אותך ואת כל חילך סוסים ופרשים לבשי מכלול כלם קהל רב צנה ומגן תפשי חרבות כלם
5 Persia and Cush and Put are with them, al with buckler and helmet;	5 פרס כוש ופוט אתם כלם מגן וכובע
6 Gomer and al its troops, Beth-Togarmah in the far north and al its troops, and many nations with you.	6 גמר וכל אגפיה בית תוגרמה ירכתי צפון ואת כל אגפיו עמים רבים אתך
7 Be ready, be wel prepared, you and al your troops and the others rallying to you, and hold yourself atmy service.	7 הכן והכן לך אתה וכל קהלך הנקהלים עליך והיית להם למשמר
8 "Many days will pass before you are given orders; in the final years you wil march on this country,whose inhabitants wil have been living in confidence, remote from other peoples, since they escaped the swordand were gathered in from various nations, here in the long-deserted mountains of Israel.	8 מימים רבים תפקד באחרית השנים תבוא אל ארץ משובבת מחרב מקבצת מעמים רבים על הרי ישראל אשר היו לחרבה תמיד והיא מעמים הוצאה וישבו לבטח כלם
9 Like a storm you wil approach, you wil advance and cover the country like a cloud, you, al yourtroops and many nations with you.	9 ועלית כשאה תבוא כענן לכסות הארץ תהיה אתה וכל אגפיך ועמים רבים אותך
10 "The Lord Yahweh says this: That day, a thought wil enter your mind and you wil form a sinisterplan.	10 כה אמר אדני יהוה והיה ביום ההוא יעלו דברים על לבבך וחשבת מחשבת רעה
11 You wil think: I shal attack this undefended country and march on this peaceful nation living secure,al living in towns without wal s or bars or gates.	11 ואמרת אעלה על ארץ פרזות אבוא השקטים ישבי לבטח כלם ישבים באין חומה ובריח ודלתים אין להם
12 You wil come to plunder and loot and turn your might against the ruins they live in, against thispeople gathered back from the nations, these stock-breeders and traders who live at the Navel of the World.	12 לשלל שלל ולבז בז להשיב ידך על חרבות נושבת ואל עם מאסף מגוים עשה מקנה וקנין ישבי על טבור הארץ
13 Sheba and Dedan, the merchants and all the magnates of Tarshish wil ask you: Have you come forplunder? Are you massing your troops with a view to looting? To make off with gold and silver, seize cattle and goods, and come away with unlimited spoil?"	13 שבא ודדן וסחרי תרשיש וכל כפריה יאמרו לך הלשלל שלל אתה בא הלבז בז הקהלת קהלך לשאת כסף וזהב לקחת מקנה וקנין לשלל שלל גדול
14 'So, son of man, prophesy. Say to Gog, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Is it not true that you will set outat a time when my people Israel is living secure?	14 לכן הנבא בן אדם ואמרת לגוג כה אמר אדני יהוה הלוא ביום ההוא בשבת עמי ישראל לבטח תדע
15 You wil leave your home in the far north, you and many nations with you, a great army of countlesstroops all mounted.	15 ובאת ממקומך מירכתי צפון אתה ועמים רבים אתך רכבי סוסים כלם קהל גדול וחיל רב
16 You wil invade Israel, my people. You will be like a cloud covering the country. In the final days, Imyself shal bring you to attack my country, so that the nations will know who I am, when I display my holiness tothem, by means of you, Gog.	16 ועלית על עמי ישראל כענן לכסות הארץ באחרית הימים תהיה והבאותיך על ארצי למען דעת הגוים אתי בהקדשי בך לעיניהם גוג
17 "The Lord Yahweh says this: It was of you that I spoke in the past through my servants the prophetsof Israel, who prophesied in those days, foretel ing your invasion.	17 כה אמר אדני יהוה האתה הוא אשר דברתי בימים קדמונים ביד עבדי נביאי ישראל הנבאים בימים ההם שנים להביא אתך עליהם
18 The day Gog attacks the land of Israel -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- my furious wrath will boil up. Inmy anger,	18 והיה ביום ההוא ביום בוא גוג על אדמת ישראל נאם אדני יהוה תעלה חמתי באפי
19 in my jealousy, in the heat of my fury I say it: That day, I swear, there wil be such a huge earthquakein the land of Israel,	19 ובקנאתי באש עברתי דברתי אם לא ביום ההוא יהיה רעש גדול על אדמת ישראל
20 that the fish in the sea and the birds of heaven, the wild beasts, al the reptiles creeping along theground, and al people on the surface of the earth will quake before me. Mountains wil fall, cliffs crumble, alwal s col apse, and	20 ורעשו מפני דגי הים ועוף השמים וחית השדה וכל הרמש הרמש על האדמה וכל האדם אשר על פני האדמה ונהרסו ההרים ונפלו המדרגות וכל חומה לארץ תפול
21 I shal summon every kind of sword against him -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- and each will turn hissword against his comrade.	21 וקראתי עליו לכל הרי חרב נאם אדני יהוה חרב איש באחיו תהיה
22 I shal punish him with plague and bloodshed, and rain down torrential rain, hailstones, fire andbrimstone on him, on his troops and on the many nations with him.	22 ונשפטתי אתו בדבר ובדם וגשם שוטף ואבני אלגביש אש וגפרית אמטיר עליו ועל אגפיו ועל עמים רבים אשר אתו
23 I shal display my greatness and holiness and bring the many nations to acknowledge me; and theywil know that I am Yahweh." '	23 והתגדלתי והתקדשתי ונודעתי לעיני גוים רבים וידעו כי אני יהוה
