1 Voici les étapes que parcoururent les Israélites lorsqu'ils furent sortis du pays d'Egypte selonleurs unités, sous la conduite de Moïse et d'Aaron.	1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.
2 Moïse consignait par écrit leurs points de départ quand ils partaient sur l'ordre de Yahvé. Voicileurs étapes par point de départ.	2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:
3 Ils partirent de Ramsès le premier mois. C'est le quinzième jour du premier mois, lendemain de laPâque, que les Israélites partirent la main haute, aux yeux de toute l'Egypte.	3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.
4 Les Egyptiens ensevelissaient ceux des leurs que Yahvé avait frappés, tous les premiers-nés;Yahvé avait fait justice de leurs dieux.	4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.
5 Les Israélites partirent de Ramsès et campèrent à Sukkot.	5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.
6 Puis ils partirent de Sukkot et campèrent à Etam, qui est aux confins du désert.	6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.
7 Ils partirent d'Etam, ils revinrent sur Pi-Hahirot, qui est en face de Baal-Cephôn, et campèrentdevant Migdol.	7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.
8 Ils partirent de Pi-Hahirot, ils gagnèrent le désert en passant à travers la mer, et après trois joursde marche dans le désert d'Etam ils campèrent à Mara.	8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.
9 Ils partirent de Mara et arrivèrent à Elim. A Elim il y a douze sources d'eau et 70 palmiers; ilscampèrent là.	9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.
10 Ils partirent d'Elim et campèrent près de la mer des Roseaux.	10 They left Elim and encamped by the Sea of Reeds.
11 Ils partirent de la mer des Roseaux et campèrent dans le désert de Sîn.	11 They left the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the desert of Sin.
12 Ils partirent du désert de Sîn et campèrent à Dophka.	12 They left the desert of Sin and encamped at Dophkah.
13 Ils partirent de Dophka et campèrent à Alush.	13 They left Dophkah and encamped at Alush.
14 Ils partirent d'Alush et campèrent à Rephidim; le peuple n'y trouva point d'eau à boire.	14 They left Alush and encamped at Rephidim; the people found no drinking water there.
15 Ils partirent de Rephidim et campèrent dans le désert du Sinaï.	15 They left Rephidim and encamped in the desert of Sinai.
16 Ils partirent du désert du Sinaï et campèrent à Qibrot-ha-Taava.	16 They left the desert of Sinai and encamped at Kibroth-ha-Taavah.
17 Ils partirent de Qibrot-ha-Taava et campèrent à Haçérot.	17 They left Kibroth-ha-Taavah and encamped at Hazeroth.
18 Ils partirent de Haçérot et campèrent à Ritma.	18 They left Hazeroth and encamped at Rithmah.
19 Ils partirent de Ritma et campèrent à Rimmôn-Pérèç.	19 They left Rithmah and encamped at Rimmon-Perez.
20 Ils partirent de Rimmôn-Pérèç et campèrent à Libna.	20 They left Rimmon-Perez and encamped at Libnah.
21 Ils partirent de Libna et campèrent à Rissa.	21 They left Libnah and encamped at Rissah.
22 Ils partirent de Rissa et campèrent à Qehélata.	22 They left Rissah and encamped at Kehelathah.
23 Ils partirent de Qehélata et campèrent au mont Shéphèr.	23 They left Kehelathah and encamped at Mount Shepher.
24 Ils partirent du mont Shéphèr et campèrent à Harada.	24 They left Mount Shepher and encamped at Haradah.
25 Ils partirent de Harada et campèrent à Maqhélot.	25 They left Haradah and encamped at Makheloth.
26 Ils partirent de Maqhélot et campèrent à Tahat.	26 They left Makheloth and encamped at Tahath.
27 Ils partirent de Tahat et campèrent à Térah.	27 They left Tahath and encamped at Terah.
28 Ils partirent de Térah et campèrent à Mitqa.	28 They left Terah and encamped at Mithkah.
29 Ils partirent de Mitqa et campèrent à Hashmona.	29 They left Mithkah and encamped at Hashmonah.
30 Ils partirent de Hashmona et campèrent à Mosérot.	30 They left Hashmonah and encamped at Moseroth.
31 Ils partirent de Mosérot et campèrent à Bené-Yaaqân.	31 They left Moseroth and encamped at Bene-Jaakan.
32 Ils partirent de Bené-Yaaqân et campèrent à Hor-Gidgad.	32 They left Bene-Jaakan and encamped at Hor-Gidgad.
33 Ils partirent de Hor-Gidgad et campèrent à Yotbata.	33 They left Hor-Gidgad and encamped at Jotbathah.
34 Ils partirent de Yotbata et campèrent à Abrona.	34 They left Jotbathah and encamped at Abronah.
35 Ils partirent de Abrona et campèrent à Eçyôn-Gébèr.	35 They left Abronah and encamped at Ezion-Geber.
36 Ils partirent de Eçyôn-Gébèr et campèrent dans le désert de Cîn; c'est Cadès.	36 They left Ezion-Geber and encamped in the desert of Zin, that is, at Kadesh.
37 Ils partirent de Cadès et campèrent à Hor-la-Montagne, aux confins du pays d'Edom.	37 They left Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, on the borders of the land of Edom.
38 Aaron, le prêtre, monta à Hor-la-Montagne sur l'ordre de Yahvé et c'est là qu'il mourut, dans laquarantième année de l'exode des Israélites hors du pays d'Egypte, au cinquième mois, le premier du mois.	38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.
39 Aaron avait 123 ans lorsqu'il mourut à Hor-la-Montagne.	39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40 Le roi d'Arad, un Cananéen qui habitait le Négeb au pays de Canaan, fut informé lors del'arrivée des Israélites.	40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.
41 Ils partirent de Hor-la-Montagne et campèrent à Calmona.	41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.
42 Ils partirent de Calmona et campèrent à Punôn.	42 They left Zalmonah and encamped at Punon.
43 Ils partirent de Punôn et campèrent à Obot.	43 They left Punon and encamped at Oboth.
44 Ils partirent de Obot et campèrent sur le territoire de Moab à Iyyé-ha-Abarim.	44 They left Oboth and encamped in Moabite territory at Iye-Abarim.
45 Ils partirent de Iyyim et campèrent à Dibôn-Gad.	45 They left Iyim and encamped at Dibon-Gad.
46 Ils partirent de Dibôn-Gad et campèrent à Almôn-Diblatayim.	46 They left Dibon-Gad and encamped at Almon-Diblathaim.
47 Ils partirent de Almôn-Diblatayim et campèrent aux monts Abarim en face de Nebo.	47 They left Almon-Diblathaim and encamped in the Abarim mountains facing Nebo.
48 Ils partirent des monts Abarim et campèrent aux Steppes de Moab, près du Jourdain versJéricho.	48 They left the Abarim mountains and encamped on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan oppositeJericho.
49 Ils campèrent près du Jourdain entre Bet-ha-Yeshimot et Abel-ha-Shittim, dans les Steppes deMoab.	49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.
50 Yahvé parla à Moïse, dans les Steppes de Moab, près du Jourdain vers Jéricho. Il dit:	50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:
51 "Parle aux Israélites; tu leur diras: Quand vous aurez passé le Jourdain vers le pays de Canaan,	51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,
52 vous chasserez devant vous tous les habitants du pays. Vous détruirez leurs images peintes,vous détruirez toutes leurs statues de métal fondu et vous saccagerez tous leurs hauts lieux.	52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.
53 Vous posséderez ce pays et vous y demeurerez, car je vous ai donné ce pays pour domaine.	53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.
54 Vous le partagerez au sort entre vos clans. A celui qui est nombreux vous ferez une plus grandepart d'héritage, à celui qui est moins nombreux vous ferez une plus petite part d'héritage. Là où le sort tomberapour chacun, là sera son domaine. Vous ferez le partage dans vos tribus.	54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.
55 Mais si vous ne chassez pas devant vous les habitants du pays, ceux d'entre eux que vous aurezlaissés deviendront des épines dans vos yeux et des chardons dans vos flancs, ils vous presseront dans le paysque vous habiterez	55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,
56 et je vous traiterai comme j'avais pensé les traiter."	56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '
