1 A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been our refuge through all generations.	1 Preghiera. Di Mosè, uomo di Dio.Signore, tu sei stato per noi un rifugiodi generazione in generazione.
2 Before the mountains were born, the earth and the world brought forth, from eternity to eternity you are God.	2 Prima che nascessero i montie la terra e il mondo fossero generati,da sempre e per sempre tu sei, o Dio.
3 But humans you return to dust, saying, "Return, you mortals!"	3 Tu fai ritornare l’uomo in polvere,quando dici: «Ritornate, figli dell’uomo».
4 A thousand years in your eyes are merely a yesterday,	4 Mille anni, ai tuoi occhi,sono come il giorno di ieri che è passato,come un turno di veglia nella notte.
5 you have brought them to their end; They disappear like sleep at dawn; they are like grass that dies.	5 Tu li sommergi:sono come un sogno al mattino,come l’erba che germoglia;
6 It sprouts green in the morning; by evening it is dry and withered.	6 al mattino fiorisce e germoglia,alla sera è falciata e secca.
7 Truly we are consumed by your anger, filled with terror by your wrath.	7 Sì, siamo distrutti dalla tua ira,atterriti dal tuo furore!
8 You have kept our faults before you, our hidden sins exposed to your sight.	8 Davanti a te poni le nostre colpe,i nostri segreti alla luce del tuo volto.
9 Our life ebbs away under your wrath; our years end like a sigh.	9 Tutti i nostri giorni svaniscono per la tua collera,consumiamo i nostri anni come un soffio.
10 Seventy is the sum of our years, or eighty, if we are strong; Most of them are sorrow and toil; they pass quickly, we are all but gone.	10 Gli anni della nostra vita sono settanta,ottanta per i più robusti,e il loro agitarsi è fatica e delusione;passano presto e noi voliamo via.
11 Who comprehends your terrible anger? Your wrath matches the fear it inspires.	11 Chi conosce l’impeto della tua irae, nel timore di te, la tua collera?
12 Teach us to count our days aright, that we may gain wisdom of heart.	12 Insegnaci a contare i nostri giornie acquisteremo un cuore saggio.
13 Relent, O LORD! How long? Have pity on your servants!	13 Ritorna, Signore: fino a quando?Abbi pietà dei tuoi servi!
14 Fill us at daybreak with your love, that all our days we may sing for joy.	14 Saziaci al mattino con il tuo amore:esulteremo e gioiremo per tutti i nostri giorni.
15 Make us glad as many days as you humbled us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.	15 Rendici la gioia per i giorni in cui ci hai afflitti,per gli anni in cui abbiamo visto il male.
16 Show your deeds to your servants, your glory to their children.	16 Si manifesti ai tuoi servi la tua operae il tuo splendore ai loro figli.
17 May the favor of the Lord our God be ours. Prosper the work of our hands! Prosper the work of our hands!	17 Sia su di noi la dolcezza del Signore, nostro Dio:rendi salda per noi l’opera delle nostre mani,l’opera delle nostre mani rendi salda.
