DOUAI-RHEIMSNEW AMERICAN BIBLE
Unto the end, in verses. A psalm of David.1 For the leader; with stringed instruments. A psalm of David.
When I called upon him, the God of my justice heard me: when I was in distress, thou hast enlarged me. Have mercy on me: and hear my prayer.2 Answer when I call, my saving God. In my troubles, you cleared a way; show me favor; hear my prayer.
O ye sons of men, how long will you be dull of heart? why do you love vanity, and seek after lying?3 How long will you people mock my honor, love what is worthless, chase after lies? Selah
Know ye also that the Lord hath made his holy one wonderful: the Lord will hear me when I shall cry unto him.4 Know that the LORD works wonders for the faithful; the LORD hears when I call out.
Be angry, and sin not: the things you say in your hearts, be sorry for them upon your beds.5 Tremble and do not sin; upon your beds ponder in silence.
Offer up the sacrifice of justice, and trust in the Lord: many say, Who sheweth us good things?6 Offer fitting sacrifice and trust in the LORD.
The light of thy countenance O Lord, is signed upon us: thou hast given gladness in my heart.7 Many say, "May we see better times! LORD, show us the light of your face!" Selah
By the fruit of their corn, their wine and oil, they are multiplied.8 But you have given my heart more joy than they have when grain and wine abound.
In peace in the selfsame I will sleep, and I will rest:9 In peace I shall both lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me secure.
for thou, O Lord, singularly hast settled me in hope.
