Ezechiele 35

LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Mi giunse la parola del Signore:	1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
2 "Figlio dell'uomo, rivolgi la faccia contro il monte di Seir e profetizza contro di esso.	2 Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it.
3 Digli: Così dice Dio, mio Signore: Eccomi contro di te, monte di Seir, stenderò contro di te il mio braccio e ti renderò devastato e desolato.	3 Say to it: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Mount Seir. I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste.
4 Farò delle tue città una devastazione, tu sarai una desolazione e riconoscerai che io sono il Signore.	4 Your cities I will turn into ruins, and you shall be a waste; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.
5 Poiché c'è stato in te un odio eterno e hai gettato i figli d'Israele in preda alla spada al tempo della catastrofe, quando la colpa giunse alla fine,	5 Because you never let die your hatred for the Israelites, whom you delivered over to the power of the sword at the time of their trouble, when their crimes came to an end,
6 perciò, per la mia vita, oracolo di Dio, mio Signore, ti riserbo per il sangue e il sangue ti perseguiterà. Certamente: ti sei messo addosso sangue e il sangue ti perseguiterà.	6 therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, you have been guilty of blood, and blood, I swear, shall pursue you.
7 Renderò il monte di Seir una desolazione e un deserto e ne reciderò chi va e chi viene.	7 I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste, and cut off from it any traveler.
8 Riempirò i suoi monti di uccisi; sui tuoi colli, nelle tue gole e in tutte le valli cadranno trafitti dalla spada.	8 With the slain I will fill your hills, your valleys, and all your ravines (in them the slain shall fall by the sword):
9 Ti ridurrò a una desolazione eterna; e le tue città non saranno più abitate. Così conoscerete che io sono il Signore.	9 desolate will I make you forever, and leave your cities without inhabitants; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.
10 Poiché hai detto: "Le due nazioni e i due paesi sono miei, noi li possederemo", nonostante che là ci fosse il Signore,	10 Because you said: The two nations and the two lands have become mine; we shall possess them--although the LORD was there--
11 perciò, per la mia vita, oracolo di Dio, mio Signore, ti tratterò secondo l'ira e l'invidia che hai mostrato nel tuo odio contro di essi. Sarò riconosciuto da loro da come ti giudicherò	11 therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will deal with you according to your anger and your envy which you have exercised (in your hatred) against them. I will make myself known among you when I judge you,
12 e tu riconoscerai che io, il Signore, ho udito tutte le tue ingiurie; infatti hai detto così contro i monti d'Israele: "Sono devastati, sono dati a noi perché ce li mangiamo".	12 and you shall know that I am the LORD. I have heard all the contemptuous things you have uttered against the mountains of Israel: "They are desolate, they have been given us to devour."
13 Vi siete gonfiati contro di me, con la vostra bocca mi avete subissato di parole. Ho sentito, sì!	13 I have heard the insolent and wild words you have spoken against me.
14 Così dice Dio, mio Signore: Con la gioia di tutto il paese farò in te una desolazione.	14 Thus says the Lord GOD: Just as you rejoiced over my land because it was desolate, so will I do to you.
15 Siccome tu hai goduto per l'eredità della casa d'Israele, perché è desolata, così tratterò te: diverrai una desolazione tu, monte di Seir e tutto Edom; si saprà che io sono il Signore".	15 In keeping with your glee over the devastation of the inheritance of the house of Israel, so will I treat you. A waste shall you be, Mount Seir, you and the whole of Edom. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
