Psalms 91

1 A Canticle Psalm. On the day of the Sabbath.	1 - Salmo-cantico. Per il giorno di sabbato.
2 It is good to confess to the Lord and to sing psalms to your name, O Most High:	2 Bello è dar lode al Signore, e inneggiare al tuo nome, o Altissimo,
3 to announce your mercy in the morning, and your truth throughout the night,	3 per proclamare al mattino la tua misericordiae la tua fedeltà la notte,
4 upon the ten strings, upon the psaltery, with a canticle, upon stringed instruments.	4 sulla lira a dieci corde [e] sull'arpa con un cantico sulla cetra.
5 For you, O Lord, have delighted me with your doings, and I will exult in the works of your hands.	5 Perchè tu m'allieti, o Signore, con l'azione tua, e per le opere delle tue mani esulto.
6 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts have been made exceedingly deep.	6 Quanto magnifiche son le tue opere, o Signore!profondissimi sono i tuoi consigli.
7 A foolish man will not know these things, and a senseless one will not understand:	7 L'insipiente non capisce e lo stolto non intende queste cose.
8 when sinners will have risen up like grass, and when all those who work iniquity will have appeared, that they shall pass away, age after age.	8 Quando gli empi spuntan su come l'erba, e fioriscon tutti quei che operano l'iniquità, [gli è] perchè periscano [poi] ne' secoli de' secoli.
9 But you, O Lord, are the Most High for all eternity.	9 Ma eccelso tu [resti] in eterno, o Signore!
10 For behold your enemies, O Lord, for behold your enemies will perish, and all those who work iniquity will be dispersed.	10 Perchè ecco che i tuoi nemici, o Signore, ecco che i tuoi nemici periranno, e saran dispersi tutti quei che operan l'iniquità.
11 And my horn will be exalted like that of the single-horned beast, and my old age will be exalted in fruitful mercy.	11 Ma sarà esaltato come [corno] di bufalo il corno mioe la mia vecchiaia [sarà ricolma] di grazia abbondante.
12 And my eye has looked down upon my enemies, and my ear will hear of the malignant rising up against me.	12 E [soddisfatto] si poserà il mio occhio sui miei nemici.e de' miei maligni aggressori udrà [parlare] il mio orecchio.
13 The just one will flourish like the palm tree. He will be multiplied like the cedar of Lebanon.	13 Il giusto fiorirà come palma, crescerà come il cedro del Libano.
14 Those planted in the house of the Lord will flourish in the courts of the house of our God.	14 piantati nella casa del Signore, negli atri della casa del nostro Dio fioriranno.
15 They will still be multiplied in a fruitful old age, and they will endure well,	15 Fruttificheranno ancora nella vecchiaia, rigogliosi e verdeggianti saranno,
16 so that they may announce that the Lord our God is righteous and that there is no iniquity in him.	16 per annunziare che retto è il Signore, Iddio nostro, e non v'è iniquità in lui.
