Unto the end. A Canticle Psalm of the Resurrection. Shout joyfully to God, all the earth.1 For the leader. A psalm of David. A song.
Proclaim a psalm to his name. Give glory to his praise.2 To you we owe our hymn of praise, O God on Zion; To you our vows must be fulfilled,
Exclaim to God, “How terrible are your works, O Lord!” According to the fullness of your virtue, your enemies will speak lies about you.3 you who hear our prayers. To you all flesh must come
Let all the earth adore you and sing psalms to you. May it sing a psalm to your name.4 with its burden of wicked deeds. We are overcome by our sins; only you can pardon them.
Draw near and see the works of God, who is terrible in his counsels over the sons of men.5 Happy the chosen ones you bring to dwell in your courts. May we be filled with the good things of your house, the blessings of your holy temple!
He converts the sea into dry land. They will cross the river on foot. There, we will rejoice in him.6 You answer us with awesome deeds of justice, O God our savior, The hope of all the ends of the earth and of far distant islands.
He rules by his virtue for eternity. His eyes gaze upon the nations. May those who exasperate him, not be exalted in themselves.7 You are robed in power, you set up the mountains by your might.
Bless our God, you Gentiles, and make the voice of his praise be heard.8 You still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples.
He has set my soul toward life, and he has granted that my feet may not be shaken.9 Distant peoples stand in awe of your marvels; east and west you make resound with joy.
For you, O God, have tested us. You have examined us by fire, just as silver is examined.10 You visit the earth and water it, make it abundantly fertile. God's stream is filled with water; with it you supply the world with grain. Thus do you prepare the earth:
You have led us into a snare. You have placed tribulations on our back.11 you drench plowed furrows, and level their ridges. With showers you keep the ground soft, blessing its young sprouts.
You have set men over our heads. We have crossed through fire and water. And you have led us out to refreshment.12 You adorn the year with your bounty; your paths drip with fruitful rain.
I will enter your house with holocausts. I will repay my vows to you,13 The untilled meadows also drip; the hills are robed with joy.
which my lips discerned and my mouth spoke, in my tribulation.14 The pastures are clothed with flocks, the valleys blanketed with grain; they cheer and sing for joy.
I will offer to you holocausts full of marrow, with the burnt offerings of rams. I will offer to you bulls as well as goats.
Draw near and listen, all you who fear God, and I will describe to you how much he has done for my soul.
I cried out to him with my mouth, and I extolled him under my breath.
If I have seen iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not heed me.
And yet, God has heeded me and he has attended to the voice of my supplication.
Blessed is God, who has not removed my prayer, nor his mercy, from me.
